Rich! Snopes Fact Checks, Facebook Threatens Satire Site for Mocking CNN

The Christian satire site Babylon Bee has been fact-checked by Snopes and threatened by Facebook after it published an Onion-style article about CNN about purchasing a washing machine to “spin the news.”

The Babylon Bee openly advertises itself as a satire site. Recent headlines include, “Local Pastor Hoping Curling Metaphors Go Over Big This Sunday,” “Nation That Calls Trump ‘Hitler’ Demands He Take All Guns Away,” “Calvinist Dog Corrects Owner: ‘No One Is A Good Boy’,” and “New Exercise Bike Forces You To Watch Christian Movies Until You Hit Your Calories Goal.”

Not only is this fairly anodyne stuff, but as you can see, the Babylon Bee is more than willing to satirize their own among the Faithful.

Naturally, none of this matters to our left-wing tech overlords, who are becoming increasingly desperate to censor free speech coming from conservatives, Christians, and the like.

The New England Pharisees

“Religion, taking every mortal form
But that pure and Christian faith makes warm,
Where not to vile fanatic passion urged,
Or not in vague philosophies submerged,
Repulsive with all Pharisaic leaven,
And making laws to stay the laws of Heaven!”

— From “Ethnogenesis,” by Henry Timrod

South Carolinian Henry Timrod penned these words in February 1861 at the meeting of the First Confederate Congress at Montgomery, Alabama. Many regarded Timrod as the “poet laureate” of the Confederacy because his evocative works potently blended lyrical composition with patriotism for his nation, the South.

In “Ethnogenesis,” this teacher, tutor, and devout Anglican boldly describes a people who self-proclaim superior sanctity and feel divinely ordained to impose their will by force, drawing the comparison of the ancient Pharisees to Yankees. But just exactly how did they get there? I began heading down this historical rabbit hole in “A City Upon a Hill,” so let’s dig a little deeper, shall we?

Five senators who can make or break gun control measures

Image result for Five senators who can make or break gun control measures

Five key lawmakers are likely to decide the fate of gun control legislation in the U.S. Senate.

Congress insists it wants to do something about preventing mass shootings. But two weeks after the massacre in Parkland, where a gunman killed 17 people, it has nothing to show for its concerns beyond a promised Senate hearing later this month.

President Donald Trump complicated Republican efforts by seemingly embracing Democratic proposals. But because it takes 60 votes to advance legislation in the Senate, one influential member can provide momentum, and possibly have life or death power, for or against any proposal.

These are the people to watch in the weeks ahead:

Tariffs Work for American Workers

Via Peter

A tariff is a sharp edged tool used to carve out the best trade deals for America. It is used to raise the price of imported goods as a defense against unfair competition from foreign markets. And like any other tax, a tariff doesn’t have to be universal or permanent: it can be limited, lowered, raised, imposed, and repealed as needed.

Even the saber-rattling threat to employ tariffs is so effective that it intimidates any nation who may harbor thoughts of fleecing the U.S.

In Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution the Founding Fathers gave Congress the power to “regulate commerce with foreign nations.”

Sheriff Israel’s Deputy Trained Mosque Members on How to Deal With Shooter

Via Billy

Encourage concealed handguns to protect Muslim mosques, but not American schools.

That’s the contradictory message that a Florida law enforcement agency is sending after a buried “Islamic protection” program came to light.

Sheriff Scott Israel and all of the Broward County Sheriff’s Office are under extreme scrutiny in the fallout of the Parkland, Florida school shooting… and now a piece of information from several years ago is raising even more questions about double standards and priorities.

A Million Parasites for Ireland

Via comment by Reborn on Pecker Dunne - Wexford

“It’s our big vision”, said Ireland’s Prime Minister Leo Varadkar, “for how we want to reshape Ireland over the next two decades.” And what is this “big vision”? A mass migration of a million plus over the next 22 years at a cost of €116 billion.

“We want to reshape Ireland,” says Mr. Varadkar. Who are the WE? And why does Ireland have to be “reshaped”? Did the Irish vote for that? Are they going to be cajoled and browbeaten with upbeat spin to “celebrate” being “reshaped”. Will they be told, Merkel-style, “We can do it!”? Will they be shamed, Cameron-style, for being “too many white Christian faces”? Will they be instructed, Sarkozy-style, that they HAVE TO make mixed-race marriages?

A former Irish Attorney-General, the late tainted Peter Sutherland, set out, in bullying manner, his views:

Liberty’s Teeth: Arms and Freedom by Bill Buppert

“And how can man die better than facing fearful odds, for the ashes of his fathers, and the temples of his Gods?”
– Thomas Babington Macaulay

Over 98% of all mass shootings in the USSA since 1950 have occurred in gun free (victim disarmament) zones where the government mandated private disarmament or corporate entities that licked the foul taint of the government to mimic compliance. For the shooters, bringing a gun in a government certified “gun free zone” guaranteed a rather hazard free opportunity to maim and kill as many disarmed humans as they wished or found the time for.

The FBI apparatchiks define a mass shooting as four or more people killed and/or injured during a single shooting incident, and that definition typically is widely accepted by law enforcement agencies, criminal justice experts and the media. One can see the NYPD providing a demonstration here when they shot nine bystanders while trying to apprehend a shooter. Please note that the geniuses in the thick black and blue line charged the man they were shooting at with the casualties.

Hundreds attend AR-15 church service ‘without a hitch’

A planned blessing event at a small church in Pennsylvania that asked couples to bring an AR-15 or similar rifle with them took place peacefully, but with some protesters.

As detailed by Guns.com previously, the World Peace and Unification Sanctuary Church in Newfoundland planned its event not to bless the firearms themselves but rather to allow attending couples to rededicate their marriages to each other. The gun, seen as the “rod of iron” in the Book of Revelations by church leaders, is cited as a symbol that shows “both the intent and the ability” to defend ones’ family, community, and nation. In all, several hundred attended, with rifles in tow.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal on Friday signed into law a tax bill that fellow Republicans used to punish Atlanta-based Delta in retaliation for the airline's decision to sever ties with the National Rifle Association.

The final version of the bill dropped a tax break worth millions to the airline. Until it was removed, the amendment would have renewed a jet fuel tax exemption taken off the books in 2015.

French far-right leader Marine Le Pen was charged on Thursday (Mar 1) for posting on Twitter gruesome images of purported atrocities by Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) extremist militants, prosecutors said.

The move by a judge in Nanterre, just outside Paris, came after the National Assembly voted in November to strip the National Front president of her parliamentary immunity over the three photos of ISIS violence posted in 2015.

Parkland kids: The return of the grieving activist

Via Billy

According to many gun-control advocates, 18-year-olds are too immature to handle guns – but are mature enough to advise us on gun policy. Thus we're told we must "listen to the voices" of the young Parkland shooting survivors. Not only that, we're not to question or oppose them because they're young, they're survivors and, by golly, because it's absolutely devastating to the anti-gun agenda!

There's something truly reprehensible about this situation, and it's not conservatives criticizing the positions of activist Parkland students such as David Hogg and Emma Gonzalez. It's that liberals are using the students as human props and human shields, letting them throw the punches and then condemning the assailed if they dare defend themselves.

Well, sorry, but as I wrote years ago in "The Grieving Activist," if you want to grieve, grieve. If you want to play politics, play politics.

But my sympathy for grieving ends when the use of grief as a political battering ram begins.

The FBI may have violated criminal statutes, as well as its own strict internal procedures, by using unverified information during the 2016 election to obtain a surveillance warrant on onetime Trump campaign aide Carter Page, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee charged Thursday in a letter obtained by Fox News.

House Intelligence Committee (HPSCI) Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., wrote in his letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions that “in this instance, it’s clear that basic operating guidance was violated.”

“Over the past two years I have been involved in developing a device of my own,” explains Despins.

“A device that will deliver (legal) full-auto-like joy to the freedom-loving masses.”
