Is It Wrong?

Is it wrong to wish a curse on the greedy officials who in one breath tear down our monuments, and in the next, greedily break open our time capsules looking for treasure and trying to profit from our pain? I hope that every single person who touches them suffers the same fate as those who unsealed Tutankhamen's tomb...

Why would anyone vote for a 'flake' ....? :)

One of President Trump's biggest financial backers is donating big bucks to a super PAC working to defeat Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., in next year's election.

Robert Mercer, a hedge-fund billionaire who was one of Trump's top donors, is donating $300,000 to a super PAC backing former state Sen. Kelli Ward, according to Politico.

Ward is challenging Flake in next year's Republican primary in Arizona.

Flake was critical of Trump during the 2016 campaign, and the Arizona Republican recently re-upped his condemnations of the president as he promotes his new book, "Conscience of a Conservative." In an excerpt of the book published last week, Flake bemoaned the direction the GOP has taken since Trump assumed the presidency.

The Arizona Republican's opposition to Trump has earned the president's disapproval. During a White House press briefing last week, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders urged Flake to stop opposing Trump.

The latest gender scandal comes from Google, where now-former employee James Damore wrote his infamous 10-page memo on the company's diversity policy. The memo itself is not scandalous, but you wouldn't know that from the media coverage or online outrage in response.

The memo was about many things, including ideological diversity, but the most attention-grabbing points are about gender. The engineer says, in so many words, that Google's effort to recruit more women in engineering runs against the reality that fewer women than men desire to become engineers.

The question of gender differences shows up in many contemporary debates: Are women paid the same amount as men? Are women represented at parity in various professions? In public office? Are women and men doing equal amounts of housework? Are male and female students pursuing the same areas of study?

These questions are easy to observe and answer, and of course, the answer to all of these questions is "no."

An attorney in the Justice Department who helped edit press statements about the tarmac meeting between Bill Clinton and Loretta Lynch is now a top attorney for Democrats in the Senate Judiciary Committee, which is currently investigating Lynch over concerns she may have tried to influence the FBI's investigation into Hillary Clinton.

The connection, first reported by the Washington Free Beacon, comes after hundreds of pages of emails about the infamous "tarmac" meeting were released by two conservative watchdog groups who had filed Freedom of Information Act requests for documents about the meeting from the Justice Department.

Paige Herwig was a counselor to the then-Attorney General Lynch in 2016 when the airplane meeting between Clinton and Lynch took place. According to her LinkedIn profile and other sources, she now serves as the deputy general counsel for the minority in the Senate Judiciary.

Watchdog files complaint alleging DNC worked with Ukraine

A watchdog group will file a complaint with the Federal Election Commission on Wednesday
alleging that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) violated federal law by soliciting opposition research on the Trump campaign from a foreign government.

The conservative group Foundation for Accountability & Civic Trust (FACT), launched in 2014 by former U.S. attorney Matthew Whitaker, will allege that political operative Alexandra Chalupa, in her capacity as a DNC consultant, improperly sought intelligence on President Trump’s former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, from Ukrainian officials.

“Federal law and Commission regulations prohibit any person from knowingly soliciting, accepting or receiving contributions or donations of money or other things of value from a foreign national,” the complaint reads.

Nearly one-quarter of all federal inmates are illegal immigrants and virtually all are in deportation proceedings or already face removal orders, according to a new Homeland Security report.

The Justice Department's Bureau of Prisons, fulfilling a presidential executive order requiring transparency on prisoner immigration status, said that it houses 187,855 inmates of which 42,034 are foreign born.

The DHS report said that only seven of those 42,034 have been granted deportation "relief." According to DHS:
  • 19,749 (46.9 percent) are aliens who have received final orders of removal.
  • 21,121 (50.2 percent) are aliens who are under ICE investigation for possible removal.
  • 1,157 (2.8 percent) are aliens whose cases are pending adjudication before an Immigration Judge in the Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR).
  • 7 (.0002 percent) are aliens who have been granted relief.
Homeland also said that the U.S. Marshal Service has a similar breakdown in its cells. Of 50,135 they've detained, 12,005 "self-report" as illegals. They are all in some type of deportation proceeding:

6.5 Million Pay Fines to Avoid Obamacare

The individual healthcare mandate requires every American to buy health insurance or pay a fine. In 2016, 6.5 million Americans chose to pay the fine rather than sign up for insurance on the Obamacare exchanges.[1]

The mandate has always been the most unpopular part of President Obama’s healthcare law, officially known as the Affordable Care Act. In addition to those who pay the fine rather than buy the mandated levels of insurance, 15 million people would drop their Obamacare coverage if it were legal to do so.

The Justice Department has reopened the investigation of Hillary Clinton's mishandling of classified material on her private email system while she was secretary of state, and is considering offering her a plea bargain if she will agree to plead guilty to charges of breaking the law, according to a Clinton attorney.
The discussion of a plea bargain took place late last month and was offered by a high-ranking Justice Department official to the Clinton lawyer.

The U.S. will begin exporting more natural gas than it imports during President Donald Trump’s first year in office, according to a report published Wednesday by the Energy Information Administration (EIA).

The country’s status as a net exporter is expected to expand well beyond 2017 because of a growing amount of exports to Mexico and a decline in imports from Canada, EIA’s report noted. The U.S. became the world’s largest natural gas producer in 2009 after the country surpassed Russia.
