The Forgotten History of Britain's White Slaves in America

Slavery in America, typically associated with blacks from Africa, was an enterprise that began with the shipping of more than 300,000 white Britons to the colonies.  This little known history is fascinatingly recounted in White Cargo (New York University Press, 2007).  Drawing on letters, diaries, ship manifests, court documents, and government archives, authors Don Jordan and Michael Walsh detail how thousands of whites endured the hardships of tobacco farming and lived and died in bondage in the New World.

Following the cultivation in 1613 of an acceptable tobacco crop in Virginia, the need for labor accelerated.  Slavery was viewed as the cheapest and most expedient way of providing the necessary work force.  Due to harsh working conditions, beatings, starvation, and disease, survival rates for slaves rarely exceeded two years.  Thus, the high level of demand was sustained by a continuous flow of white slaves from England, Ireland, and Scotland from 1618 to 1775, who were imported to serve America's colonial masters.

Kellyanne Conway appeared on Fox News Friday to discuss the firing of now-former Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and took the time to comment on the singularity of President Trump as a United States president.

Conway sung the president’s praises while commenting on the departure of Priebus who says he’s “always going to be a Trump fan” despite his recent firing. This is the type of unconventional White House the President is running and it’s the type of White House that got Scaramucci so excited and eager to join in on the great changes in America that POTUS is seeking to enact.

The quest to prove collusion is crumbling

Jared Kushner

While everyone is fixated on President Donald Trump’s unbecoming and inexplicable assault on Attorney General Jeff Sessions, the media have been trying to sneak away from the “Russian collusion” story.

That's right. For all the breathless hype, the on-air furrowed brows and the not-so-veiled hopes that this could be Watergate, Jared Kushner's statement and testimony before Congress have made Democrats and many in the media come to the realization the collusion they were counting on just isn't there.

As the date of Kushner’s testimony approached, the media thought they were going to advance and refresh the story.

But Kushner's clear, precise and convincing account of what really occurred during the campaign and after the election has left many of Trump's loudest enemies trying to quietly back out of the room, unnoticed.

Who’s ready for some good news on Friday? Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is out on the streets and hard at work, actually getting the job they are paid to do accomplished. They just wrapped up an eleven day operation in New York designed to get criminal illegal aliens off the streets and out of the country, netting a haul of more than one hundred such suspects. The agency described the details in a recent press release.

Draining the Swamp is Messy.

Via Sister Anne

https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/517Kgys40rL._SX258_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg

By Michael Master (author of Save America Now, Rules for Conservatives, The Birth Famine)

Our home is in a community of 2,000 homes located on the inter-coastal in North Carolina. Everything lives here. Alligators. Water moccasins. Rattle snakes. Sea hawks. Egrets. Giant blue heron. Mosquitoes! blood sucking mosquitoes.

We've watched from our back porch as dolphins chased sail boats and motor boats up the inter-coastal and watched the moon rise over the ocean to cast its glow over the inter-coastal.

When the community decided to drain the swamp in the center of the community, it was a big deal.
Draining the swamp was messy. The swamp was about 10 football fields, about 6 feet deep, with lots of creatures living in it. It was a dangerous swamp. Not one that you would walk or swim. You would not dare sit next to it in the dark of a moonless night. If not the snakes, then the mosquitoes would eat you alive.

As the water level decreased, the creatures were exposed. As the water level disappeared, all that was left was 3 feet of yucky black mud and the roots to dying cypress trees. The fish, snakes, frogs, rats, and birds were all stranded in the yucky mud.

Those creatures of the swamp fought for their lives as the swamp disappeared. The fish flopped around in the black mud looking for some water for life. The frogs croaked incessantly all night while their young pollywogs were stranded lifeless at the top of the black mud. Snakes slithered in every direction in the black mud in search of food. The rats that live in hollows all along the water abandoned their nests while the birds that feed off the swamp creatures also abandoned the area.

Finally, the mud dried out. No more snakes. No more rats No more fish. No more frogs. No more mosquitoes.....And no more birds that feed off those creatures of the swamp.

That same thing is happening to the political swamp in America. Trump is draining the swamp. His picks for his cabinet are all swamp drainers. Yeah, 3 are from Goldman Sachs. 3 of 23.

Practically all of his cabinet have executive experience (military, or government, or private sector) … and it is the executive branch, now isn't it?

The mud is becoming visible as all the creatures who live in the swamp are fighting for their lives. Government employees at the IRS, EPA, and Education are flapping in the mud like dying fish. The lobbyists are slithering here and there looking for government funds like the snakes in the mud ... especially those who wrote Obamacare. The liberal media cartel is chirping and croaking all the time like frogs trying to reverse the draining. The tax and spend politicians are dying off like the blood sucking mosquitoes. The political appointees of Obama are fleeing DC for other jobs like the birds who lost their meal tickets. And the information leakers like Comey and Lynch are looking for new places to nest like the rats that left the swamp. Soon, all that will remain will be the dying institutions like public education as the dying cypress trees of our society.

Everyone who lived off the swamp is praying for rain. Election rain so Democrats might win some elections from Republicans since the Democrats suffered such horrible defeats during the 8 years of Obama. Impeachment rain so the professional politicians can get rid of Trump as the swamp drainer. Low approval rating rain so the media can claim they were correct about Trump. Virtual rain, fake rain, so pundits can claim that Trump is not making any progress even though the results say the opposite.

Draining the swamp is messy, muddy. But the mud will soon dry. Democrats just lost special elections in Arkansas, Omaha, and Montana after sinking millions into them. Democrats might grab an election here or there in places like Georgia where the demographics are changing to black communities, but not without millions and millions of campaign money ... and Democrats cannot afford to do that for all the elections in 2018. Democrats must defend 23 Senators in 2018 as compared to 10 for Republicans and Democrats must win 25 seats in the US House from Republicans and then win back 900 state legislative seats and 14 governorships. If Georgia is an example, that will cost Democrats hundreds of millions to try.

SCOTUS will be rendering its decisions about Trump executive orders just before the 2018 elections ... and more than likely, SCOTUS will rule against the Obama appointed judges who live in the lower court swamps. SCOTUS will help Trump.

Comey is gone. Lynch is in trouble. Clinton is back in trouble. The Clinton Foundation donors are talking. Clapper and Yates both said that there is no evidence of collusion between Trump and the Russians.

Schumer is gasping for rain like one of those stranded fish. His Republican swamp buddies like McCain will abandon him as he dies … a rat leaving the swamp even though they shared an apartment together. His Wall Street swamp buddies cannot help him. The Washington Post and The New York Times and CNN and NBC are all trying to seed the clouds. But none of it is producing enough rain to help Schumer stop Trump Draining the swamp is loud. Listen to all the hysterical liberal media cartel who are trying to make it rain in order to save the swamp where they live. Chanting. Lies. Rain dances. But no real rain is coming. Only fake rain. The swamp will soon be dry. And when it is, then the next task to make America great again can begin.

The Korean Central News Agency said that Kim expressed "great satisfaction" after the Hwasong-14 missile, which the country first launched on July 4, reached a maximum height of 3,725 kilometers (2,314 miles) and traveled 998 kilometers (620 miles) from the launch point before landing in waters near Japan.

The agency quoted Kim as saying that the latest launch reaffirmed the reliability of the country's ICBM system and confirmed an ability to launch the missile at "random regions and locations at random times" with the "entire" U.S. mainland now within range.

Kim said the launch late Friday sent a "serious warning" to the United States, which has been "meaninglessly blowing its trumpet" with threats of war and stronger sanctions, the KCNA said.
The North Korean flight data was similar to assessments by the United States, South Korea and Japan.

Rabbi Miller's article insults Southerners and especially Jewish Confederates

                  Joshua Lazarus Moses (1841 - 1865

As a descendant of Jewish Confederate soldiers who fired the last shots in defense of Mobile at the end of the War Between the States, I found Rabbi Jonathan Miller's  27 July attack on the South I struggle to understand Southerners' affection for the Confederacy to be highly ignorant and offensive.  He certainly does not speak for my People, and  I would appreciate the opportunity "to tell the other side of this story".

Rabbi Miller's article is insulting to the millions of  decent Southerners whose ancestors fought for their homeland, especially those of us whose families fought for the South. Confederate soldiers   overwhelmingly   served their country with honor, courage, and valor, sacrificing much, sometimes their lives, and all they owned, defending their people and cities that were under attack by the North.

Some 3,500 to 5,000 Jews fought honorably and loyally for the Confederacy, including its Secretary of War and later State, Judah Benjamin. My then 16 year old great grandfather (Andrew Jackson Moses) served, as did his four brothers, their uncle, his three sons, and some two dozen other members of my Mother’s extended family (the Moses’ of South Carolina and Georgia). More than half a dozen of them fell in battle, largely teenagers, including the first and last Confederate Jews to die in battle (Albert Moses Luria and Joshua Lazarus Moses).

We know first hand, from their letters, diaries, and memoirs, that they and their comrades-in-arms were not fighting for slavery, but rather to defend themselves, their families, homes, and country from an often brutal invading army that was trying with great success  to kill them, burn their homes and cities, and destroy everything they had.

Three of the Moses brothers fought with Culpeper's Battery, which on the last  real day of the War, 9 April, 1865, the day General Lee surrendered, at the battle of Fort Blakeley, fired the last artillery barrages in defense of the Fort and Mobile, finally being overrun by a Union force outnumering theirs by twelve to one. At this, the last large infantry battle of the War, the eldest brother, Joshua, was killed;  Horace was captured laying land mines (returning home from Union captivity "a skeleton" in his Mother's words); and Perry was wounded earlier and evacuated to New Orleans.

On that same day,  a unit of Sherman’s army, which had just burned nearby Columbia, South Carolina, headed towards my family’s hometown of Sumter, presumably to do the same to it. My great grandfather rode out to fight Potter’s Raiders, along with some other teenagers, old men, and the wounded and invalids from the local hospital, a mission as hopeless as it was valiant. And with their families and homes and their own lives in mortal danger, defending slavery was the last thing on their minds.

It is strange to see a rabbi praising the Union army as if it were some  human rights organization, and comparing Confederate memorials to the Nazi swastika. .It was the top Union General, Ulysses S. Grant, who on 17 December, 1862 issued the infamous General Order # 11 expelling all Jews "as a class" from his area of operations, including parts of Tennessee, Mississippi, and Kentucky. Union commanders also forbade Jews from riding on trains (November, 1862), and wrongly blamed them for whatever economic troubles the North encountered.

In contrast, Confederate Commander General  Lee respected his Jewish soldiers and did his best to accommodate their religious observances and holidays.

It was this same Union Army (led by many of the same Civil War generals, including Sherman, Grant, Sheridan, and Custer)) that engaged in virtual genocide against the Native Americans in what we euphemistically call "the Indian Wars," often massacring harmless, defenseless old men, women, and children in their villages.

Other war crimes specifically committed by Grant include:

Ordering the destruction of an entire agricultural area to deny food to the South (the Shenandoah Valley, 5 August, 1864); Leading the mass murder of the Plains Indians to make land available for the western railroads (the eradication of the Plains Indians, 1865-66);

Overseeing the complete destruction of defenseless Southern cities, and conducting such warfare against unarmed women and children (e.g., the razing of Meridien, and other cities in Mississippi, spring, 1863).

Contrast these atrocities (and many others too numerous to list) with the gentlemanly policies and behavior of the Confederate forces. My ancestor Major Raphael Jacob  Moses, who was General James Longstreet’s chief commissary officer and is credited with carrying out the Last Order of the Confederate Government, was forbidden by General Robert E. Lee from even entering private homes in their raids into the North, such as the famous incursion into Pennsylvania. Moses was forced to obtain his supplies from businesses and farms, and he always paid for what he requisitioned, albeit in Confederate tender.

Moses and his Confederate colleagues never engaged in the type of warfare waged by the Union forces, especially that of General William T. Sherman on his infamous "March to the Sea" through Georgia and the Carolinas, in which his troops routinely burned, looted, and destroyed libraries, courthouses, churches, homes, and cities full of defenseless civilians, including my hometown of Atlanta.

It was not the South but rather the other side that engaged in genocide and other war crimes. While our ancestors may have lost the War, they never lost their honor, or engaged in anything that could justify the vilification that is so often  directed at them nowadays .

We honor our ancestors and their military leaders with memorials because they showed amazing courage and valor, enduring incredible hardships against overwhelming and often hopeless odds, in fighting for their homeland. Rabbi Miller sort of acknowledges some of this towards the end of his article, but he is  apparently  unaware of most of this history.

Perhaps this letter will help educate him  a bit about the proud history of Our People here in our beloved Southland..

Thank you for taking the time to consider these facts.

Sincerely yours,

Top legal expert explains why Robert Mueller’s appointment may have been illegal in the first place

Via Billy

“Show me the man and I’ll find you the crime,” said former Soviet Secret Police Chief Lavrentiy Beria, a Russian today’s liberals are undoubtedly quite fond of.

Robert Mueller was supposed to be a bipartisan, unbiased investigator who would get to the bottom of Russia’s supposed role in the 2016 election to the satisfaction of both sides of the political spectrum. Instead, he has turned out to be a partisan hack-job seemingly hellbent on finding some sort of “crime” – and any “crime” will do, no matter how far beyond the original parameters of his appointment he needs to reach.

Which is understandably drawing the ire of President Trump.

But one prominent legal expert makes a convincing argument that the president might not need to even consider firing Mueller, because he should never have been appointed in the first place.

Reince Priebus Was Scratching Scaramucci Off of President’s Schedule

Via Billy

It’s no secret that President Trump’s Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci do not much care for each other — and this was BEFORE the The New Yorker piece was published on Thursday.

After the November election President Trump asked Anothony Scaramucci to join his Administration. Scaramucci sold his company, SkyBridge Capital, in anticipation of joining President Trump in the White House but Reince Priebus reportedly blocked him from being appointed to a top job within the administration.

Late last week President Trump appointed Scaramucci Communications Director despite continued objections from Reince Priebus.

Scaramucci was understandably furious with Priebus after his successful attempt to block him from office earlier this year.

But Priebus’s antics did not end there.

According to a Gateway Pundit source close to the situation Anthony Scaramucci was scheduled to meet with President Trump in the White House five different times last month. Each time the appointment was scheduled on the president’s calendar Chief of Staff Reince Priebus reportedly scratched his name off the book. Scaramucci was furious.

Rep. Mo Brooks, R-Ala., said Friday that it's time for new leadership in the Senate after Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., failed to bring a healthcare reform bill over the finish line.

Brooks said on CNN that he hopes the Senate doesn't stop trying to pass a bill, but said if the Senate is done, the GOP should start looking for a new leader.

"If they're gonna quit, well then, by golly, maybe they ought to start at the top with Mitch McConnell leaving his position, and letting somebody new, somebody bold, somebody conservative take the reins so that they can come up with a plan that can get through the United States Senate and serve the needs of the American people," Brooks said.

Trump says he wants a ‘general’ to replace Priebus: report

President Trump has said privately that he wants to appoint "a general" to replace White House chief of staff Reince Priebus, The New York Times reports.

The president, the Times reported on Thursday, has so far focused on Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly as a potential replacement, though advisers believe that would be a bad move.

Trump has reportedly said that he no longer has faith in Priebus, a former Republican National Committee chairman who was tapped for chief of staff shortly after Trump was elected.

Priebus has lost key allies in the White House over the past week, most notably former press secretary Sean Spicer, who resigned immediately after Trump appointed Anthony Scaramucci as his new communications director.
