A President’s War on the Media

After CNN was forced to retract yet another fake news story about “Russian collusion” it did what all Leftists do when caught in a lie:  It played “victim.”  It did so by claiming that President Trump’s calling out of the fake story, which CNN now admits was a fake, was an attack on freedom of speech in America.  So, according to CNN, publishing fake “news” is free speech, while pointing out the truth is an attack on free speech.

To hammer home the point that it, CNN, is the nation’s protector of free speech, the network attempted to taunt the president on the Fourth of July by tweeting an inscription that is chiseled into a wall at the “Newseum” in Washington, D.C.  They apparently thought that this would be a death blow to the president, for the quote was from the god of the state, Abe Lincoln.  “Let the people know the facts, and the country will be safe,” Abe supposedly said.  Yes, just let them “know” that Vladimir Putin personally hypnotized Donald Trump, turning him into a Manchurian candidate, and then rigged all the election machinery in the United States to assure his election.  They will then be “safe” to know that Hillary Clinton is their real president.

Unfortunately for CNN, the Lincoln quote is more fake news because the quote itself is a fake, as proven by several researchers and reported by The Federalist Website.

GOP lawmaker wants former Obama aide to testify

A member of the House Oversight Committee said Saturday that he wants former senior Obama administration official Ben Rhodes to testify on Capitol Hill.

Speaking to conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt on MSNBC, Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) addressed the leaks that have dogged the Trump administration since January.

"If you look at some of the leaks that have come out, for example, when the president’s having a conversation with a foreign leader, there may be a memo that’s created, distributed to the National Security Council. The next thing you know, it’s on the front page of the paper," DeSantis said.

"Look, there’s only so many places that would come from. And the Obama holdover working with Rhodes, that’s a place we’ve been encouraged to look," added DeSantis, who chairs the panel's national security subcommittee.

CROWDS CHEER POTUS TRUMP at US Women’s Open “We Love You Mr. President!

Via Billy

President Trump rolled up to a cheering crowd as he exited his motorcade, waving to fans. People were screaming, “We love you Mr. President!”

NJ reports:

Trump got to the course at 3:40 p.m. Friday, fresh off a trip to Paris for Bastille Day ceremonies.

After Air Force One landed at Newark Liberty International Airport, the president’s motorcade headed for Bedminster and drove through the heart of Trump National, past a crowd of fans near the putting green and the clubhouse. Trump could be seen waving out the window as the motorcade rolled by, then headed for his home on the property, which sits adjacent to the 15th hole.

Less than two hours later, Trump made the short trek to the skybox that’s been built behind the 16th tee, receiving cheers and applause along the way. He occasionally wandered toward the box’s windows to point and wave to fans, while the Secret Service and USGA officials handled crowd control outside the box.

USGA officials repeatedly asked the crowd to keep quiet in order to avoid disrupting play, which was taking place just yards away.

NC: His heart stopped for more than 30 minutes. How can he still be alive?

Via Billy

CMPD officer Nikolina Bajic (left rear) and Lawrence Guiler stand with John and Sarabeth Ogburn and their kids (from left) Birdie, four, Huck, five, and Revel, two, on Tuesday. Guiler and Bajic saved John’s life a few weeks ago when they performed CPR on him for nearly 45 minutes after he had gone into caridac arrest inside a Panera Bread.

John Ogburn doesn’t remember a single thing about Monday, June 26.

He doesn’t remember waking up that morning, or helping prepare breakfast for his three young children, or kissing his wife Sarabeth goodbye, or any of the meetings he had with landscape design clients. He doesn’t remember driving to the Panera Bread in Cotswold Village. He doesn’t remember going to his favorite booth in the back, where he regularly sat for hours doing work on his laptop.
He doesn’t remember crumpling to the floor at about quarter past 4, his heart gone completely, terrifyingly still.

He doesn’t remember any of the many, many things that happened next. But in the two and a half weeks since, he’s come to understand this: If a single one of those things “didn’t happen correctly,” he says, “it could have gone differently pretty quickly.”

And John Ogburn would be dead.

Michael Bloomberg BUSTED on Gun Control Hypocrisy

A Fearful Danger and Political Menace in 1860

 https://www.lewrockwell.com/assets/2002/04/dilorenzo.jpg

The electoral college system erected by the Founders worked best when limited to two candidates, but became what was described as a “fearful danger” when multiple candidates emerged in 1860. New Yorker Samuel Tilden’s dark prophesy of a purely sectional candidate becoming president was realized in 1860; when the Gulf States began to go out of the Union he stated that “The situation was unprecedented, and it is worse than idle, it is presumptuous, to rail at [President James] Buchanan for his failure to act.” The latter is scapegoated for failure, though the Founder’s failed to foresee such a calamity. Tilden lost the 1876 presidential race through Reconstruction election fraud in several Southern States.
Bernhard Thuersam, www.Circa1865.com   The Great American Political Divide

A Fearful Danger and Political Menace in 1860

“The election of Abraham Lincoln has been studied from every angle. It is well to disregard the providential aspect of the outcome. Seventeen years ago, Mary Scrugham made a careful examination of the returns. Her “Peaceable Americans of 1860-1861” shows how ridiculously the machinery of the electoral college misrepresented American opinion in this critical campaign.

To question the constitutionality of Lincoln’s election is absurd, but to criticize the system by which one of four candidates could carry the electoral college decisively with a large third of the popular vote is pertinent.

At the first two meetings of the electoral college, Washington was chosen without contest. Thereafter, as everyone knows, the growth of parties put an end to the deliberative character of the body, for each political organization put up its own list of electors in every State – where the legislatures did not choose them. Reporting the popular result became automatic.

Polling not a vote in almost one-third of the States, obtaining not a single elector from the South, and receiving a noticeable minority of the popular suffrage, a sectional candidate was chosen President of the United States – and all this according to the Constitution. What may happen in the future can only be imagined – should this dangerous system survive.

Miss Scrugham’s analysis of the election of 1860 should open our eyes. Lincoln had no votes in ten States of the Union; while [Vice President John] Breckinridge received more than 6,000 in Maine, 2,000 in Vermont, and 14,000 in Connecticut.   According to the “acid test of geographical membership,” the Republican was the only “out and out sectional party.”

Some accused the Southern Democrats of splitting their party for the sake of forcing the election of Lincoln and thus finding a compelling excuse for secession.

If the entire opposition to Lincoln, however, had been united on one candidate, the electoral college would still have given him the presidency “regardless of the fact that popular vote against him was a million more than that for him.”

In 1860, then, according to the returns, it would have been impossible for a majority of the American people to choose a president even if they had been united on a single hypothetical candidate.

In the face of the vote which both [Stephen] Douglas and [John] Bell received in the Southern States, “it is folly to assert,” continues Miss Scrugham, that the South was “aggressively pro-slavery and bent on maintaining slavery” even at the cost of the Union.”

[New York Governor Samuel] Tilden saw the fearful danger of the victory of Lincoln before it had occurred. Laying his finger on the political menace of any man’s being made President without one electoral vote from the South, he urged his fellow citizens to defeat [Lincoln] by any means possible.”

Nathan Bedford Forrest (Excellent)

 forrest

This essay was published as a new introduction for Lytle’s Bedford Forrest and His Critter Company and is published here in honor of Forrest’s birthday, July 13.

This is a young man’s book. To have anything more to say about a book you did fifty odd years ago brings you hard up against the matter of time. The young author shows a familiar visage, as enigmatic as the portrait of a great-grandfather “struck” in his youth, gazing into the close air of the parlor. You know you are kin, but that youth belongs to the ancestors. Therefore to redo or revise in any real sense would mean to make another book. Fifty years can change more than the use and control of language. The world may go on for a thousand years and, outwardly at least, be always the same. Then something appears out of nowhere, so sudden does it seem, and a shattering takes place; as for example when the stirrup was introduced into Russia by the Sarmations riding out of Siberia. They stopped with the conquest of Russia, but the stirrup did not stop there. The Goths took it into Rome. It ended the stalemate between the mounted archers of Parthia and the Roman legion. It had its long history in Europe. It came to an end as an instrument of military power about a hundred years ago in Alabama.

Surprise! Women's Marchers Hired Armed Guards For Their Protest Against The NRA

Via Billy

Organizers of the "Women's March" and Michael Bloomberg's gun control lobbying group Everytown are participating in an anti-National Rifle Association rally today. They are currently walking from Fairfax, Virginia to Washington D.C. as part of the resistance movement. Their main arguments?

-Real men don't need guns

-No one is safe unless everyone is safe (whatever that means)

-Loaded guns under beds are bad

-The NRA doesn't respect women's rights

-The NRA is full of bigots

The Trump administration has told the Supreme Court that a lower court ruling earlier this week altering an executive order on immigration would bring thousands more refugees into the county and requires the justices’ “immediate intervention,” according to filing documents obtained early Saturday by Fox News.

In a victory for the administration, the Supreme Court late last month lifted key components of an injunction against President Trump's temporary travel ban on refugees and visitors from six mostly-Muslim countries.

The court reinstated much of the administration’s policy and promised to hear full arguments as early as this fall.

Military power comparison results for United States vs. Russia.

Via 4Branch "Here's a comparison chart showing USA and Russia.

These numbers include no NATO forces.

McCain, Graham and their cohort of idiots want to go to war with these guys, looking for another 'easy kill' just like Iraq and Afghanistan.

Putin is not a fool, he knows these numbers as well as anyone, and he knows his military's effectiveness.

He also knows that war being forced on him, his only option is to nuke everybody in a first strike.

A lesson learned from Israel, BTW.  His plan has to be launch on warning, to be effective.

His judgement has to be perfect.  Hell of a strain for a guy to handle.

New Huma Abedin Emails: Blacked Out Docs Released, But 1 Key Part Didn’t Get Erased

http://conservativetribune.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/more-redacted-emails-from-Huma-and-Hillary-320x181.jpg

Just because former secretary of state and failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton didn’t win the 2016 election, that doesn’t mean that all of the scandalous activity that surrounded her and her closest associates will just go away or disappear.

Judicial Watch announced in a news release Friday that it had just published newly found documents from the non-governmental email account used by Huma Abedin, deputy chief of staff and all-around right-hand to Clinton before, during and after her stint at the State Department.

Some 448 pages of heavily redacted government documents and email chains were obtained by Judicial Watch as part of the continuation of a 2015 lawsuit filed against the State Department by the conservative watchdog group that demanded “All emails of official State Department business received or sent by former Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin from January 1, 2009 through February 1, 2013 using a non-‘state.gov’ email address.”

Wikileaks Emails Showed Clinton Plan To Discredit Bernie Sanders Over Bank Scandal

Sen. Bernie Sanders’ claims that an ongoing FBI probe of his wife is based on partisan politics don’t square with the fact that it began under President Obama and appears to closely track Democratic opposition research revealed in the hacked emails of the Hillary Clinton campaign.

The FBI and U.S. Attorney in Vermont are investigating Jane O’Meara Sanders for her role in a failed 2010, $10 million college land deal that she orchestrated during her seven-year stint as president of Burlington College in Vermont.
