White Offenders Receive Higher Sentences Than Other Races, Study Says

Via Billy

White offenders convicted of a crime carrying a mandatory minimum sentence are receiving more severe punishments than any other race, according to a United States Sentencing Commission (USSC) study.

The USSC released its comprehensive review of the federal justice system’s mandatory minimum penalties Tuesday in its first review of the penalties since 2011. The study found that unlike 2011, white offenders, as opposed to black offenders, had the highest average sentence among offenders convicted of a crime carrying a mandatory minimum penalty. White people also had the highest sentences among offenders who had obtained sentence reductions.

White people were sentenced to an average of 127 months, blacks to 119 months, and Hispanic people to 93 months.

FBI Director nominee Christopher Wray said he would be

If President Trump's nominee for FBI director is confirmed by the Senate, the Democratic National Committee could face an investigation into its interactions with the Ukrainian government.
During his confirmation hearing on Wednesday, Christopher Wray signaled a willingness to investigate allegations that the DNC worked with the Ukrainian government to impede Trump's presidential campaign in 2016.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., read an excerpt from Politico's January investigation into the matter during his allotted time to question Wray. "Donald Trump wasn't the only presidential candidate whose campaign was boosted by officials of a former Soviet bloc country," Graham quoted from the report.

Evidence shows that John Roberts, chief justice of the United States Supreme Court, was “hacked” by a Deep State surveillance operation overseen by Obama administration CIA director John Brennan and Obama director of national intelligence James Clapper.

Roberts, the Bush appointee who made the decisive vote to uphold the constitutionality of Obamacare before the 2012 election, was allegedly the victim of the same Deep State surveillance program that spied on President Donald Trump.

The White House has said it "strongly objects" to a House proposal that keeps the military from closing billions of dollars worth of unused facilities around the country in 2018.

The pushback came from the Office of Management and Budget in a statement Tuesday on the House's annual defense policy bill, which was passed by committee late last month and now is headed toward a floor vote this week.

The Armed Services Committee included a section in the bill that bars the Defense Department from shuttering any facilities as part of the Base Realignment and Closure program, or BRAC.

Putin Is Not The New Hitler

Peters is the one who needs to go. Just another war mongerer.

Tucker Carlson found himself compared to the aviation hero and fascist sympathizer Charles Lindbergh Tuesday.

And no, it had nothing to do with trans-Atlantic flights.

It all started when Fox News contributor Ralph Peters took issue with The Daily Caller co-founder asking how Russian President Vladimir Putin is a threat to America’s interests. “You sound like Charles Lindbergh in 1938 saying ‘Hitler hasn’t attacked us,’” Peters told Carlson.

Unsurprisingly, the Hitler reference infuriated the Fox News host who made the sober assertion, “I don’t think Putin is comparable to Hitler.” Peters disagreed, saying Putin “is as bad as Hitler.”

The two continued fighting over how America should operate in the world, with Carlson demanding answers as to how Russia, Iran and the Assad regime in Syria are serious threats to America. Peters argued that they were, and indicated America should use military options to seek regime change in all three countries.

Encountering The Annoying Neocon

Via comment by JWMJR on Coulter: 'A Lot of Republicans Hate Trump Just as ...

 https://faculty.washington.edu/smcohen/320/platoscave.gif

I recently made a comment on one of Bernie Goldberg's latest columns purporting to give advice, unsolicited of course, to President Trump. My having the temerity to point out that Bernie had never had anything nice or supportive of the President from the moment he announced his candidacy and as such there would be no reason to expect Trump would read his column or take his advice so that substantively it was little more than just another list of complaints being spewed into the echo chamber of the neocon blogosphere.

This wasn't the first time I found myself being criticised for commenting on his columns with words to the effect "Well if you don't like what Bernie says what do you bother reading him or commenting?" I swear some of these people live in Plato's cave.

Reconsidering Richard B. Russell

There was a time both before and after the War when the South dominated the United States Congress. In the antebellum period, James Madison, John C. Calhoun, John Randolph of Roanoke, and Henry Clay placed their mark on congressional debates, and several other Southerners ranked among the best statesmen of the era. But most Americans, even those in the South, don’t realize that by the mid-twentieth century, Southerners controlled every major committee in the Senate and played a substantial role in the legislative proceedings of both houses of Congress.

This process began during the Wilson administration and continued virtually unabated until the 1970s. The “Southern Bloc” mentored promising young Southern congressmen by grooming them for power. Southerners held the formal procedures of Congress in high regard and considered being a United States Senator a position of honor and respect.

Dershowitz: “I Don’t See Any Crime” That Donald Trump Jr Committed

Via Billy

“You’re allowed legally to use material that was obtained illegally as long as you had nothing to do with the illegal nature of obtaining the information”

Lawyer and lifelong Democrat, Alan Dershowitz told Newsmax Wednesday that he doesn’t see any crime committed by Donald Trump Jr. in regards to his meeting with the Russian lawyer.
Alan Dershowitz was asked if he thinks Donald Trump Jr. did anything illegal or inappropriate. He responded by saying, “I don’t see any crime at this point. I think if there was any coordination, even if the worst case scenario as far as we know now is the Russians get in touch with Trump Jr. and say we have some dirt on Hillary Clinton…and he goes and gets the information.”

Dershowitz goes on to explain that it’s exactly what the New York Times in the Pentagon Papers. “That’s what the Washington Post did and many other newspapers did with information from Snowden and Manning.”

Ann Coulter went after Republicans for helping Democrats slow down President Trump's agenda, including ObamaCare repeal and his nominations before the Senate.

She said on "Varney & Co." today she's disappointed that Trump seems to have obstructionists within his own party on Capitol Hill.

“A lot of them really, really hate Trump every bit as much as MSNBC does and they’re slow-walking everything and they are not helping him," she said.

Coulter specifically called out Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) for placing a hold on Trump's nominee to head the director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

"When I worked for Clinton, Clinton called me and said, 'I want to get Yeltsin elected as president of Russia against Gennady Zyuganov, who was the communist who was running against him. Putin was Zyuganov's major backer.

"It became public that Clinton would meet with me every week. We would review the polling that was being done for Yeltsin that was being done by a colleague of mine, who was sending it to me every week. We, Clinton and I, would go through it and Bill would pick up the hotline and talk to Yeltsin and tell him what commercials to run, where to campaign, what positions to take. He basically became Yeltsin's political consultant.

"I think that Putin resented that, hated it, thought that it was an inappropriate intervention by Bill Clinton and I think he's determined to take his revenge out on Hillary Clinton."

If you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything (Mark Twain)

A half-truth is a whole lie (Yiddish Proverb)

Dear Richard Blumenthal,

You’re a liar.

Despite the fact that you are Connecticut’s leading law enforcer, apparently no one ever taught you the difference between the truth and a lie.

There are four ways to lie in the court of public opinion:
  1. By commission — e.g., saying you served in Vietnam when you haven’t.
  2. By omission — e.g., by failing to note that you spent most of the Vietnam years assiduously trying to AVOID military service.
  3. By understatement — e.g., like saying “on a few occasions I have misspoken about my service.”
  4. By exaggeration — e.g., “When we returned, we saw nothing like this’’ (when speaking about Vietnam veterans as if you were one of them).
You’re four for four.

Trump Jr.’s Emails Undermine Collusion Conspiracy Theory: The smoking gun that wasn’t

Via Billy

Donald Trump Jr. fought back yesterday against the increasingly desperate shrieking from the tinfoil-hat Left by publishing online the emails that led to his innocuous campaign-season meeting a year ago with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya.

By releasing the chain of emails leading to the much ballyhooed but brief get-together at the Trump Tower in Manhattan, Donald Jr. is hoping to dispel any notion that the Trump campaign somehow colluded with the Russian government to affect the outcome of the November 2016 election. (I wrote about the Trump Jr. meeting story yesterday here at FrontPage before the emails became available.)

The emails do not indicate any knowledge of Russian government wrongdoing, such as hacking, or Trump campaign involvement in such activities. Yet the mainstream media is going berserk, hyping the overheated ravings of leftist idiots like Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) whose disastrous performance in the vice presidential debate against Republican Mike Pence may have helped to sink the Democrat ticket last year.

Professor Warns Democrats “Gen Z’s Inclinations Generally Fit Moderate Republicans”

Via Billy

Jeff Brauer, a professor at Keystone College, has been researching the political leanings of Generation Z, concluding that the next generation differs substantially from millennials. His findings show that Gen Z is more fiscally conservative than millennials were, and generally resemble the politics of moderate Republicans.
The Professor says “Politically, Generation Z is liberal-moderate with social issues, like support for marriage equality and civil rights, and moderate-conservative with fiscal and security issues,”.

Adding: “While many are not connected to the two major parties and lean independent, Gen Z’s inclinations generally fit moderate Republicans.”

Steve King: Build border wall with funds from Planned Parenthood, food stamps
“I would find half of a billion dollars of that right out of Planned Parenthood's budget," he told the Examiner. "And the rest of it could come out of food stamps and the entitlements that are being spread out for people that haven't worked in three generations.

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) is calling for using federal funding for Planned Parenthood and food stamps to help pay for President Trump’s southern border wall, the Washington Examiner reported Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the House Appropriations Committee introduced a spending bill that would allocate $1.6 billion toward building the wall separating the U.S. from Mexico. The funding is part of the total $13.8 billion for Customs and Border Protection.

King said he supports the spending measure, but he would prefer an additional $5 billion for the wall — and suggested taking the extra funding from Planned Parenthood and federal welfare programs.

“I would find half of a billion dollars of that right out of Planned Parenthood's budget," he told the Examiner. "And the rest of it could come out of food stamps and the entitlements that are being spread out for people that haven't worked in three generations.

Liberal constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley laid to rest many of the claims Tuesday from the media and politicos of illegality and collusion surrounding Donald Trump Jr.’s meeting with a “Kremlin-connected” lawyer.

Turley, a legal scholar at George Washington University, batted away claims of criminality, asking “does any of this constitute a clear crime or even a vague inkblot image of a crime?” His answer: no, not on the facts.

NC GOP Sen. Tillis Blocks Donald Trump’s DHS Nominee To Get More H-2B Workers

Via John

H-2B

 Call: 202) 224-6342

North Carolina GOP Sen. Thom Tillis is demanding the Department of Homeland Security hand over more H-2B worker visas before he allows Senate approval of a top homeland security official.

President Donald Trump has appointed Lee Francis Cissna to serve as director of the DHS’s critical U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services agency. The agency is responsible for screening arrivals and immigrants to prevent jihad attacks and other terrorism. Cissna has been approved by the Senate committee, but he won’t get a Senate approval vote soon because Tillis asked the GOP’s leader to put a so-called “hold” on the nomination.

Tillis put the hold in Cissna because he wants John Kelly, the Secretary of Homeland Security, to provide more H-2B work visas so employers can import thousands of additional blue-collar, low-wage foreign workers this summer, fall, and winter. The extra workers will allow the companies to minimize wages and training for Americans, including non-working Americans.

The North Carolina Senator has repeatedly said he wants to let companies hire more cheap-labor contract workers. Before being elected in 2006, he worked as a manager at IBM and at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Both firms are heavily involved in the white-collar outsourcing business.

An April poll showed Tillis has roughly 39 percent approval in his home state, according to the McClathchy news service, but he does not face the voters until 2020.
