Non-veteran North Carolina Senator Burr v Lt. General Flynn

The Senate Intelligence Committee slapped Michael Flynn two new subpoenas to turn over documents about his contacts with Russian officials on Tuesday, Politico reported. The Congressional move surfaced just one day after the former national security adviser invoked the Fifth Amendment to circumvent a pervious subpoena.

This time, the Committee directed the subpoenas at his businesses, believing he can't plead the Fifth.

“While we disagree with Gen. Flynn’s lawyer’s interpretation of taking the Fifth, it is even more clear that a business does not have a right to take the Fifth if it’s a corporation,” said top committee Democrat Mark Warner of Virginia.

Prior to his brief stint as Trump's national security adviser, Flynn ran a consulting firm called the Flynn Intel Group.
Committee Chairman Richard Burr, R-North Carolina, remained adamant about obtaining information from Flynn.

“If in fact there’s not a response, we’ll seek additional counsel advice on how to proceed forward,” Burr said at a joint press briefing with Warner. “At the end of that option is a contempt charge, and I’ve said that everything is on the table.”

Anti-Confederacy or Anti-Western

Anti-Confederacy or Anti-Western

A statue of Robert E. Lee is the last of four statues commemorating the Confederacy that leftist activists in New Orleans succeeded in bringing down this past weekend.

All Confederate symbols are monuments to “white supremacy,” the left assures us.  This is the justification for the campaign to erase them from public view.

Pro-Confederate Southerners, however, have always maintained that they have never been interested in memorializing “supremacy” of any kind.  Rather, their symbols are expressions of a rich and storied cultural history.  Statues such as those of Jefferson Davis and Robert E. Lee that were just razed in the Big Easy are monuments to patriots and heroes who were willing to forego all in order to conserve that culture for future generations.

“Heritage, not Hate,” is how the pro-Confederate South has been putting it for decades now.
And while the account standardly offered by heritage-affirming Southerners is true as far as it goes, the reality is that it does not go nearly far enough.

The truth is that the attack on Southern cultural symbols is an attack on American symbols.

Let’s be clear: Though the movement to eradicate all open, public commemorations of Southerners who fought for the Confederacy is anti-Confederacy, it is not, ultimately, an anti-Confederate movement.  And though it most certainly is anti-Southern, it is not, ultimately, anti-Southern.

Comey Cancels Wednesday Hearing with House So He Can Talk to FBI Predecessor Mueller Who’s Heading Russia Probe

Former FBI Head and Comey’s predecessor at the FBI, Robert Mueller, is now the appointed Russia Investigation Special Council.  The question arises why Comey would want to speak with Mueller before Congress?

Comey is now famous for having investigated and refused to press charges against Bill and Hillary Clinton at least four different times in his career in Washington, DC while his family appears to have benefitted nicely.  Meuller is now famous for having delivered highly enriched uranium to Russia during his career as Head of the FBI and also is known for caving to the demands of Muslim groups during this same time span.

Now we are supposed to expect that these two fair minded individuals are going to meet within the next week before Comey speaks to Congress and this is all ok? Do you think that Comey will have the conversation recorded or will it be like the discussion Comey had with Hillary Clinton last year in regards to her criminal acts while as Secretary of State and not record the discussion?

Donna Brazile warned off private eye on Seth Rich murder

Former DNC Chairwoman Donna Brazile

Former Democratic National Committee interim chairwoman Donna Brazile is the high-ranking DNC representative who allegedly called police and the family of murdered DNC staffer Seth Rich and demanded to know why a private investigator was “snooping” into Rich’s death, the private eye revealed to WND Monday.

“The high-ranking DNC official that called the police after I inquired about Rich’s case was Donna Brazile,” veteran homicide detective Rod Wheeler told WND. “Why shouldn’t I reveal who it was?”

Brazile, who was also a CNN contributor and a Hillary for America donor at the time, was caught providing Democratic Party nominee Hillary Clinton with questions that would later be asked of Clinton at a televised CNN town hall. In an interview with Fox News before the election, Brazile denied leaking the questions to Clinton. But in a March 17, 2017, column for Time magazine, she finally admitted doing so, saying it was a “mistake I will forever regret.”

North Carolina: In a struggling factory town, residents want Washington to cut the ‘drama’ and get to work

Sitting at a table at Jeff’s Corner Cafe, Brenda Allen professed thanks for the good things before her.

There were the creamy grits she ate and the jokes she shared with the other diners, most of whom she’d known all her life. But she was most grateful that the small, blurry television set hanging in the corner of this no-frills breakfast spot was silent.

“You know, I stopped watching Fox, and all the other channels, too,” Allen, a 70-year-old retired nurse practitioner and Democrat, told her friend Julie. She sipped a little Mountain Dew. “So much negativity about the president. I think in Washington, there’s just much ado about nothing. They got their own world created for them over there.”

“Ain’t that the truth,” Julie responded.

Kevin Brady touts border tax: ‘True competition for the first time’

Ways and Means Chairman Rep. Kevin Brady and other House Republicans are counting on revenue generated by the border adjustment tax to help fund a massive reduction in income tax rates. (Associated Press)

House Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady mounted a renewed defense Tuesday for including a border adjustment tax in the Republicans’ proposed tax overhaul, but he is facing increasing defections from members of his party who say the tax is complicated and will end up socking consumers.

Seeking to inject new life into the proposal, Mr. Brady acknowledged “fair concerns” about it and said there is merit to the idea of phasing in the tax to give the economy time to adjust.

“I’m confident that we can bring forward the designs [and] the transition — very deliberate, very generous, including incorporating some of those issues in a way that we not just address it in the short term,” Mr. Brady, Texas Republican, said at an event hosted by the Peter G. Peterson Foundation.

A 20 percent border tax has become a centerpiece of the House Republicans’ tax overhaul, with Speaker Paul D. Ryan and other leaders saying it will level the playing field with other countries that impose similar taxes and protect American manufacturers.

Davis-Oliver Act Sets Out to Enforce U.S. Immigration Laws

Immigration impacts virtually every challenge and threat America and Americans confront each day.
Failures of the immigration system have cost thousands of Americans and others present in the United States their lives.

The 9/11 Commission, to which I provided testimony, identified those failure of the interior enforcement program, as being at heart of the ability of terrorists, and not only the 19 hijackers who carried out the terror attacks of 9/11 but other terrorists, as well, to enter the United States and embed themselves as they went about their deadly preparations.

Members of pernicious transnational gangs from around the world, and not just Latin America, have easily entered the United States and set up shop in towns and cities across the United States peddling narcotics and perpetrating violent crimes.

Failures of the immigration system have not only surpassed the wages of American and lawful immigrants but have also cost millions of American workers their very jobs.

Europe was the birthplace of mankind, not Africa, scientists find

An artist's reconstruction of Graecopithecus freybergi, left, with the jawbone and tooth found in Bulgaria and Greece

The history of human evolution has been rewritten after scientists discovered that Europe was the birthplace of mankind, not Africa.

Currently, most experts believe that our human lineage split from apes around seven million years ago in central Africa, where hominids remained for the next five million years before venturing further afield.

But two fossils of an ape-like creature which had human-like teeth have been found in Bulgaria and Greece, dating to 7.2 million years ago.

Mark Steyn On the Unmentionable Real Issues and Steve Sailer’s “World’s Most Important Graph”

Several people sent me Mark Steyn’ s YouTube video—he has a video channel he calls SteynPosts—from last Wednesday.

It’s a 23-minute clip, right there on YouTube, and well worth your attention.

Mark takes recently-elected French president Emmanuel Macron and his new political party as the starting point for his commentary. He refers to Macron as “this cipher, this globalist pretty boy.” He translates the name of Macron’s party, En Marche!, as “Forward!” Mark called this “a vacuous slogan.”

This recent Presidential election in France was, said Mark, a consequential election; but the guy who won, “won by pretending it was an election about nothing.”

To support his case, and to set the hearts a-fluttering over here on the Dissident Right, Mark then pulled out Steve Sailer’s graph, the graph I was talking about two weeks ago, what Steve calls “the world’s most important graph.” This is the graph Steve made from the U.N.’s 2012 population projections, showing the population of Europe flatlining at around half a billion through the rest of this century while the population of Africa rockets up to over four billion:

Democrat Staffer Under Investigation for Security Violations Escapes to Pakistan

A Democrat staffer under investigation for involvement in a massive security breach in the House of Representatives has fled the U.S. and gone to Pakistan where she has family ties that might help her escape justice in the U.S.

This suspect is part of the huge scandal that the media has been completely ignoring, naturally.

Early this year, three brothers who held IT positions for Democrat members of several very sensitive Congressional committees were fired for suspicion of improperly accessing congressional computer networks without authorization.

In February, the Daily Caller explained it:
