Girl, 5, suspended over stick gun

A local mother is outraged after her 5-year-old daughter was suspended from school because of a stick that resembled a gun.

Caitlin Miller returned to school Tuesday after her one-day suspension.

It started Friday when her mother got a call from the principal about a playground incident. Caitlin explained that she and her two friends were using their imaginations, playing "King and Queen."

In this case, Caitlin was the guard protecting the royals and picked up the gun to imitate shooting an intruder into the kingdom.

Hoke County Schools said Caitlin posed a threat to other students when she made a shooting motion, thus violating policy 4331.

Caitlin Miller, 5, was suspended from kindergarten for playing with this stick.
"Hoke County Schools will not tolerate assaults, threats or harassment from any student. Any student engaging in such behavior will be removed from the classroom or school environment for as long as is necessary to provide a safe and orderly environment for learning," the school system say
Miller says Caitlin was alienated by her friends and teachers as a result of the suspension.

Trump’s intriguing idea: Cut debt by selling off federal assets

Via John

 http://ei.marketwatch.com//Multimedia/2017/03/28/Photos/ZH/MW-FJ081_oil_fi_20170328094343_ZH.jpg?uuid=8f3fceea-13bc-11e7-8221-001cc448aede

The federal debt’s $20 trillion, and the fastest growing part of it — entitlements (which make up 60% of all federal spending) — are surging as baby boomers retire in droves. Interest on all this red ink is piling up and rising interest rates are only going to make things worse. So Uncle Sam’s broke, right?

That’s the common view.

Not so fast. If you’re only looking at the liabilities side of a company’s balance sheet, you only get half the story. At the end of its last fiscal year, Apple AAPL, -0.13%  had $75 billion in long-term debt. Think Apple’s broke? Of course not: the other side of its balance sheet shows that the company is sitting on tons of assets.

Yet this is how we evaluate the federal government. We look at its liabilities while ignoring its assets. Think the feds are broke? Not so fast, says a 2013 report from the Institute for Energy Research, which points out that the government owns “above ground” assets such as “buildings, lands, roads, railroad infrastructure, levees, dams, and hydroelectric generating facilities, to name just a few, many of which are underutilized,” and “below ground” assets such as “rights to mineral and energy leases, from which they receive royalties, rents, and bonus payments.”

Let’s focus on a giant part of this: Mineral rights for oil and gas reserves.

Maryland’s Confederate Sisterhood

“If you, who represent the stronger portion, cannot agree to settle [the issues] on the broad principle of justice and duty, say so; and let the States we both represent agree to separate and part in peace.  If you are unwilling we should part in peace, tell us so, and we shall know what to do, when you reduce the question to submission or resistance.”  John C. Calhoun, from his speech read in the Senate Chamber by James Murray Mason of Virginia on March 4, 1850
Maryland’s curious honor roll of distaff Unionists includes Clara Barton from North Oxford, Massachusetts and two Pennsylvanians, an apocryphal flag waver named Barbara Fritchie and the singularly unremarkable Matilda Sterling, who complained that the citizens of Annapolis and Baltimore were secessionist and “very bitter in their feelings” towards Federal occupation troops.

Their objectives by necessity subordinated to the overarching imperative to write a more palatable “Civil War” history, feminist ideologues glorify these transplants as exemplars of  “strong, right-thinking Maryland” women “ahead of their times,” while they typically neglect the Old Line State’s more numerous, home-grown  Confederate heroines.

Go! Go! Go! Marine LePen: France Has a ‘Rendez-vous With History’, Globalists ‘Looking at Us in Fear’

Via Billy

‘’

The hour of the grand democratic confrontation between globalists and patriots has arrived.”

Addressing supporters in the northern French city of Lille on Sunday afternoon, Marine LePen announced a ‘‘rendez-vous with history’’, a fast-approaching day of reckoning between patriotism and globalism which would see France join a world-wide revolt against supra-national ‘’oligarchs’’ and their version of the world.

Presenting herself as the anti-system candidate, LePen emerged in striking red to deliver an address scathing of the failed promises of globalism, offering a message of national renewal reminiscent of President Trump’s ‘’Make America Great Again.’’

Acknowledging the important role of the north in her party’s recent successes, LePen opened with a nod to the history and renowned good humor of the region, a former industrial powerhouse and mining center ‘’martyred’’ by a globalization which had caused the closure of its factories and the ruination of once vibrant communities.

In a veritable declaration of war on supra-national government, LePen spoke of the countless families which had suffered because of ‘’market-based redundancies and savage off-shoring of jobs’’.

DuBois defends issuing warning about rumored ICE raids in Brockton

Via Iver "If the sheriffs do not arrest those that are breaking the law and putting their communities at risk, it will be up to the people  ie: militia.

Her comments were criticized by many people, including the Bristol County sheriff, who said DuBois’ remarks potentially violated federal law under the charge of harboring anyone known to be in the country illegally.
“To have chosen consciously to violate her oath and put more interest in protecting illegals, potentially criminal illegals, and certainly criminal illegals if ice were involved in this initiative, over the safety of her citizens that put her there, she needs to step down," Sheriff Thomas Hodgson said.

A young man with an AR-15 at the ready killed three masked individuals during an attempted home invasion in Oklahoma.

Police with Wagoner County Sheriff's Office said a 23-year-old man shot and killed three suspects who entered his father’s home with the intent to burglarize it. The unidentified individuals — who were dressed in black and possessed a knife and brass knuckles — were between the ages of 16 and 18.

“There was a short exchange of words and then gunfire happened,” Deputy Nick Mahoney told a local ABC affiliate on Monday.

Authorities said getaway driver Elizabeth Marie Rodriguez, 21, turned herself in at the Broken Arrow Police Department later in the day. She was interrogated, arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of first-degree burglary.

Iowa Republicans are backing legislation banning abortions once heartbeat is detected.

Via Billy

An AP report from Tuesday coming out of Des Moines, Iowa shows that state Republicans are backing legislation that is intended to ban abortions once a fetal heartbeat is detected. The news has stirred controversy among Democrats as they have proposed to stage an all-nighter in filibuster form to halt an initial procedural vote.
A GOP-led House committee was scheduled to vote Tuesday to add the provision to an abortion bill. The provision could ban abortions as early as six weeks in a pregnancy. It would be the strictest ban in the U.S. and would face legal challenges.
Ohio Gov. John Kasich vetoed a similar measure late last year. In January 2016, the U.S. Supreme Court refused to review lower court rulings overturning North Dakota’s so-called fetal heartbeat law.

White House declares ‘the war on coal is over’ as Trump begins unraveling Obama’s climate agenda

A central piece of President Trump’s executive order Tuesday nixes the federal government’s use of the obscure “social cost of carbon” calculation, ending an Obama-era experiment that put an official price tag on greenhouse gas emissions.

The metric, first established in 2010 by an interagency working group that consulted with scientists and others outside government, examined how carbon pollution would impact public health, food crops, infrastructure and a host of other parts of American life. The figure, which now stands at about $40 per ton of carbon, according to the latest federal figures, was a key way in which the Obama administration tried to financially justify its ambitious climate change agenda. The Environmental Protection Agency would, for example, claim that a given program, rule or regulation would save billions of dollars by cutting emissions, and it arrived at those estimates partly by using the social cost of carbon.

Additional Voter Fraud Proof for FEC Commissioner Weintraub Filed With FEC

FEC Commissioner Ellen Weintraub keeps demanding proof of voter fraud from President Trump. Project Veritas Action has provided significant video evidence of voter fraud and even filed an official FEC complaint against the Clinton presidential campaign, the DNC and other parties regarding voter fraud and many other election irregularities.

To date, the FEC hasn't acted on the initial complaint. Yesterday, PVA attorney Ben Barr filed a supplement containing additional evidence to the FEC. Afterwards, one of our journalists confronted Commissioner Weintraub at an event and questioned her about it.

Commissioner Weintraub, quit grandstanding and actually investigate the voter fraud evidence we have presented to you on a silver platter.

On the heels of Huma Abedin’s  talk of reconciliation with her currently estranged husband, Anthony Weiner, new claims are being leveled not only against Weiner but against FBI Director James Comey.

The young woman, who once again thrust Anthony Weiner into the spotlight for his perpetual addiction to sexting women of all ages and generally inappropriate conduct, has spoken out against the FBI’s handling of the ordeal.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., indicated Monday night that he won't recuse himself from his panel's investigation into Russia's influence on the election, after Democratic calls for him to step aside.

Nunes has been accused of working too closely with President Trump, when he should instead be looking hard for evidence that Trump and Russian officials worked together to defeat Hillary Clinton.

But when asked about the idea of recusing himself on Fox News, Nunes indicated that he wouldn't bow down to Democratic demands.

The segregated “affinity group,” called Ramblers Analyzing Whiteness, allows all students “who self-identify as White” to talk about their “anger and confusion about institutional racism” and to confess “guilt and hope about internalized racism.” Members can also “examine what it means to be White” and “begin the journey of operating in solidarity with others and their privilege.”

Students interested in joining Ramblers Analyzing Whiteness can’t just decide to start showing up at meetings. No, no.

The White House Tuesday denounced as “entirely false” a news report that the Trump administration tried to prevent former acting Attorney General Sally Yates from testifying to the House Intelligence Committee about Russia.

In a statement, the White House said it “has taken no action to prevent Sally Yates from testifying and the Department of Justice specifically told her that it would not stop her and to suggest otherwise is completely irresponsible.”

White House press secretary Sean Spicer said an article on the matter in The Washington Post “is entirely false.”

Mr. Spicer said the White House counsel’s office was given a deadline of March 27 to respond with any objections to Ms. Yates testifying, and didn’t respond.

“We encouraged them to go ahead. That’s the story,” he said.

hodgson Massachusetts Sheriff: Arrest Leaders Of Sanctuary Cities

A Massachusetts law enforcement official testifying before Congress on Tuesday called for leaders of sanctuary cities to be arrested.

Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson told the House Subcommittee on Illegal Immigration that sanctuary cities “have become magnets for illegal aliens, some of which have violent criminal records.”

“If these sanctuary cities are going to harbor and conceal criminal illegal aliens from ICE, which is in direct violation of Title 8 of the U.S. Code, federal arrest warrants should be issued for their elected officials,” Hodgson said. “Our citizens would be safer if we never stopped enforcing immigration law and if we never formed or turned a blind eye toward sanctuary cities.”

The pro-life activists who accused Planned Parenthood of selling the human remains of the unborn were charged by California prosecutors Tuesday with recording people without consent during the undercover investigation into the nation’s largest abortion provider.

David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt of the Center for Medical Progress were charged with 15 felonies by state Attorney General Xavier Becerra.

“The right to privacy is a cornerstone of California’s Constitution, and a right that is foundational in a free democratic society,” Mr. Becerra said in a statement. “We will not tolerate the criminal recording of confidential conversations.”

The pro-life activists are charged with criminal conspiracy to invade privacy and 14 counts of filming people without their permission in Los Angeles, San Francisco and El Dorado counties.

Mr. Daleiden disputed the charges and said they were brought by “Planned Parenthood’s political cronies.”

He also pointed out that similar charges brought by Houston prosecutors in response to his investigation were thrown out.

GOP accuses Democrats of blocking closed FBI, NSA testimony on Russia

Republicans charged Tuesday that Democrats are blocking the House Intelligence Committee's investigation into Russia from moving forward by refusing to sign a letter that would officially invite FBI Director James Comey and NSA Director Adm. Mike Rogers back before the committee for closed-door testimony.

Republicans have made clear they want that testimony before hearing from others, and say it will allow the committee to be as informed as possible when interviewing future witnesses.
