Protest Thugs and the Real Evil in Charlotte

Keith Lamont Scott was scum.

Keith Lamont Scott had been convicted of assault with a deadly weapon in two different states and convicted of assault in three states. He had been hit with “assault with intent to kill” charges in the 90s. His record of virtue included “assault on a child under 12” and “assault on a female.”

The media spin; “Family and neighbors call Scott a quiet ‘family man.’”

Nothing says “quiet” like “assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill” and nothing says “family man” like assaulting women and children.

Keith Lamont Scott, the latest martyr of Black Lives Matter and its media propaganda corps, was shot while waving a gun around. He had spent 7 years in jail for “aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.”

This vicious monster’s career of crime ended when he was shot by Brentley Vinson, an African-American police officer, protecting himself from the latest rampage by this “quiet family man.”

Brentley Vinson is everything that Scott isn’t. The son of a police officer, Brentley dreamed of following in his father’s footsteps. He used to organize his football team’s bible studies and mentored younger players. Former teammates describe him as a “great guy” with “good morals.” His former coach calls him a “natural leader” and says that, “We need more Brent Vinsons… in our communities.”

Americans Dont Want Hillary Trickle-Down Morality

Via Billy

Back in the 80’s we heard liberals bleating on about trickle-down economics, where government policies favoring capital attraction would lift the economy such that the lowest rungs would also rise.

There are a few assumptions inherent in this theory, one of which is the lowest rungs have a desire and propensity to rise–that they want upward mobility.

Pulling up the economy by means of capital attraction is actually the best way for government to encourage growth and stay out of the way at the same time. But only if there is no competing interest for individuals to remain statically poor. In this respect, Reagan’s implementation of his tax package was bound to fail, eventually, because liberals can’t stand to see anyone get what they deserve.

Hillary Clinton has never met a stigma she wouldn’t fight to eliminate; she’s never met a shame worth bearing. She has spent her entire life formulating a morality that rejects shame. Where Reagan’s economic policy was designed to attract capital and grow our economy, Clinton’s view of government is to attract a globalist view of morality in which nobody is objectively wrong, but everything is too complex for the everyman (and everywoman) to figure out.

A Hard Rain is Going to Fall

A Hard Rain is Going to Fall

This summer, President Obama was often golfing. Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump were promising to let the world be. The end of summer seemed sleepy, the world relatively calm.

The summer of 1914 in Europe also seemed quiet. But on July 28, Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria was assassinated in Sarajevo by Gavrilo Princip with help from his accomplices, fellow Serbian separatists. That isolated act sparked World War I.

In the summer of 1939, most observers thought Adolf Hitler was finally through with his serial bullying. Appeasement supposedly had satiated his once enormous territorial appetites. But on Sept. 1, Nazi Germany unexpectedly invaded Poland and touched off World War II, which consumed some 60 million lives.

Wars often seem to come out of nowhere, as unlikely events ignite long-simmering disputes into global conflagrations.

The instigators often are weaker attackers who foolishly assume that more powerful nations wish peace at any cost, and so will not react to opportunistic aggression.

Unfortunately, our late-summer calm of 2016 has masked a lot of festering tensions that are now coming to a head -- largely due to disengagement by a supposedly tired United States.

In contrast, war, unlike individual states, does not sleep.

Rep. Tom McClintock opened a congressional hearing by reading a Washington Post article detailing the “unheard of” impacts global warming had on the Arctic ecosystem.

“The Arctic Ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and some place the seals are finding the water too hot,” McClintock read in a Wednesday hearing, adding that reports “all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard of temperatures in the Arctic zone.”

McClintock went on, then asked President Barack Obama’s top climate adviser Christy Goldfuss if “this the crisis you’re referring to?” — referring to a new guidance her Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) staff issued on accounting for global warming impacts of federal agency actions.

“It is a crisis we’re trying to address,” Goldfuss said, totally unsuspecting of what was about to happen. “I’m not familiar with that specific report…” Goldfuss added.

Students from the University of Kansas’ Young America’s Foundation just learned the hard way that those who advocate for “safe spaces” and “trigger warnings” for themselves aren’t as courteous about other people’s feelings.

Thursday night, the University of Kansas YAF asked students who supported “safe spaces” to debate the topic, politely, with several young conservative KU YAF members. The event, called “Stand with Me” was in response to a video (and poem!) posted by transgender student Micha Cox, who claimed to have been harassed and berated as she was walking across campus.

YAF had anticipated some protests, but what they got was a complete meltdown, clearly inspired by Trigglypuff. A group of social justice warriors invaded the meeting, screaming obscenities, verbally abusing the YAF students, calling them “racist” and “white supremacist,” lecturing students about their “white privilege” and even berating the students for holding the event.

NC: Protesters, chants and riot police: Not a typical Panthers game day

Via Billy

It was a Carolina Panthers game day like no other: Police in riot gear and uniformed National Guard members stood watch as protesters converged on Bank of America Stadium on the sixth day of protests over a fatal shooting by a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer.

Several dozen people chanted “Black Lives Matter” and “No justice, no peace,” in front of the stadium an hour before kickoff of the Panthers’ second home game of the season, against the Minnesota Vikings. Some carried signs bearing the name of Keith Lamont Scott, the man fatally shot by police in Charlotte on Tuesday. Police said one man, identified as Bruce Garmon, was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon near the stadium.

But the overall atmosphere calmed enough that city leaders lifted the midnight curfew that had been in place since Thursday.

Fans making their way into the game stopped to thank Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers, shake their hands and fist bump them. “We appreciate y’all,” one man said.

Right-Wing Marxist

In the Communist Manifesto, Marx and Engels wrote that “the history of all hitherto existing societies is the history of class struggles.” Today the story of American politics is the story of class struggles. It wasn’t supposed to be that way. We didn’t think we were divided into different classes.

Neither did Marx.

America was an exception to Marx’s theory of social progress. By that theory, societies were supposed to move from feudalism to capitalism to communism. But the America of the 1850s, the most capitalist society around, was not turning communist. Marx had an explanation for that.

“True enough, the classes already exist,” he wrote of the United States, but they “are in constant flux and reflux, constantly changing their elements and yielding them up to one another.” In other words, when you have economic and social mobility, you don’t go communist.

Walmart Workers Refuse to Make Cop’s Retirement Cake

Via Billy

Three Walmart workers in McDonough, Georgia refused to decorate a “thin blue line” cake for a police officer’s retirement party because they said it was racist.

A number of my Georgia readers alerted me to the story and on Saturday night I spoke directly with the police officer’s daughter. She asked that I not divulge her name and I’ve agreed to honor her request.

“I was so shocked,” she told me. “I didn’t know what to do or say or anything. I was trying not to lose my temper or make a scene.”
The baker told me the blue line cake was racist

Navy Publishes Guidance Warning Sailors Not to Protest National Anthem

In the wake of two sailors going public with their decision to show solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement by refusing to stand when the Star Spangled Banner is played, Navy Reserve Forces Command today published guidance warning troops that they can be punished or prosecuted for such protests.

A message directed at active-duty sailors and reserve personnel on active duty cites Navy Regulation 1205, which mandates that personnel in uniform must stand at attention and face the flag when the national anthem is played. It also notes that a Navy administrative message published in 2009 requires Navy active-duty personnel in civilian clothes to face the flag, stand at attention, and place their right hand over their heart.

The Latest on protests in Charlotte, North Carolina, over the fatal police shooting of a black man (all times local

A group of around 100 demonstrators have gathered across the street from Bank of America Stadium to protest the shooting death last week of a man by a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer.

The protesters, holding signs and led by a man on a bullhorn, were surrounded by at least two dozen police officers on bicycles on Sunday afternoon.

Their message competed with the noise of fans streaming toward the stadium and an impromptu jazz band playing tunes less than a block away.

Inside the stadium, people attending the game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Carolina Panthers watched the protesters from access ramps to the upper level.

Massachusetts Judge Forces 71 Year Old American Christian Woman To Go To Mosque And Study Islam

Via Billy

We have been arguing that Islam will not conquer America by war, but through judicial orders. In a case that disturbingly reflects this, an elderly Christian woman landlord who got into a scuffle with a Muslim tenant is being forced to learn about Islam as a part of her probation:

A Somerville landlord and Christian minister convicted of pushing her Muslim tenant down the stairs must comply with a judge’s order that she learn about the Islamic faith as part of her probation, the state’s highest court concluded Wednesday.

In the Somerville courthouse, Yee ordered that Obi attend “an introductory class on Islam, and to provide her probation officer with written documentation that she had done so’’ and provide all future tenants with a written notice that she had been convicted of criminally assaulting one of her tenants.

He also ordered Obi to serve six months in the Middlesex County House of Correction.

Cascade Mall Shooting: Corpses Remained in Mall Overnight

Via comment by Sioux  on Suspect in custody after Burlington, Wash. mall sh...

As we have sought to document at MHB on a routine basis, ‘active shooter drills’ are now common occurrences across the US. Such “training” is a consequence of the heightened federalization of local and regional law enforcement.

The September 23 Cascade Mall shooting north of Seattle in northwest Washington State took place shortly before 7:00PM local time, and has certain suspect features evident in photos, particularly evidence of tents and porta-potties on the scene, as observed by a MHB reader.

The Spirit of Greenbrier Military School Lives on at Fork Union

Eric Nelson, Greenbrier Military School Class of 1947, helps attach the Greenbrier Cadet cord to the uniform of his grandson, Cadet Robert "Bo" Barnes.

This weekend, the alumni of Greenbrier Military School are holding their annual reunion in Lewisburg, West Virginia. At first, this might not seem like a remarkable event; many schools host reunions for alumni. But the Greenbrier Military School annual alumni reunion remains a testament to the strong personal bonds formed in a boys only, military-style, boarding school environment. These men of Greenbrier are committed to each other, and committed to seeing that their school, and the values it stood for, will not be forgotten. You see, Greenbrier graduated its last class of cadets in 1972 and closed its doors forever. Yet the school's special spirit lives on, both in these annual reunions held in Lewisburg, as well as in a unique relationship built in recent years with a former arch rival, Fork Union Military Academy.

Like many traditional military schools during the 1960s and early 1970s, Greenbrier was unable to weather the changes taking place in the country. The military was falling out of favor in a society that was tired of the war in Vietnam. Permissiveness and nonconformity were the new rules of the culture. With enrollment dropping and debts increasing, Greenbrier Military School, like their sports rivals Staunton Military Academy and Augusta Military Academy, found itself without the finances needed to make it through the lean times.

A nation that once had as many as 400 military-style private schools, today has far fewer than 40.

Charlotte police release videos of shooting of Keith Lamont Scott

Video footage released Saturday shows Keith Lamont Scott taking four steps slowly backward with his arms at his sides when he is hit in a burst of four gunshots from police, then crumples to the pavement.

From neither vantage point – a police dashboard camera and a body camera worn by one of the officers on the scene – can it be determined whether Scott is holding a gun.

But police can be heard repeatedly shouting “Drop the gun!” at the 43-year-old Scott, who died from his wounds Tuesday as his wife stood nearby.
