The Brevard Police Department has issued an Amber Alert for a teen and her alleged abductor.

Just before 6 p.m. Tuesday, an Amber Alert was issued for 15-year-old Dixie Mae Bailey, a white female who stands 5-foot-4 and weighs 114 pounds.

Dixie is described as having brown hair with orange streaks and blue eyes.

Dixie was last seen with a person wearing a peach-colored pullover, black tights and cowboy boots; the subject is said to have both ears pierced.

Authorities believe Dixie and the subject may be en route to Atlanta.

    What I understand on the local news, WLOS, Dixie ran
    away from home - not abducted. The Brevard police
    said Amber Alerts are not for runaways and they hesitated
    issuing one.
