If They Come for Your Guns, Do You Have a Responsibility to Fight?

I feel a tremendous responsibility to write this article though I am a little apprehensive. Thinking about the possibility of rising up against our own government is a frightening thing for many of us. I am not Johnny Rambo and I will be the first to admit that I do not want to die. The reason I feel compelled to write this, however, is simply because I don’t think the average American is equipped with the facts. I feel that a lot of American citizens feel like they have no choice but to surrender their guns if the government comes for them. I blame traditional media sources for this mass brainwash and I carry the responsibility of all small independent bloggers to tell the truth. So my focus today is to lay out your constitutional rights as an American, and let you decide what to do with those rights.

About a month ago I let the “democracy” word slip in a discussion with a fellow blogger. I know better. Americans have been conditioned to use this term. It’s not an accurate term and it never has been a correct term to describe our form of government. The truth is that the United States of America is a constitutional republic. This is similar to a democracy because our representatives are selected by democratic elections, but ultimately our representatives are required to work within the framework of our constitution. In other words, even if 90% of Americans want something that goes against our founding principles, they have no right to call for a violation of constitutional rights.

  1. I don't know if you should call it responsibility...let's just call it INSTINCT!

  2. The Constitution and in particular, the 2nd Amendment must be defended. Hell yes, it our duty to fight for our right to bear and keep arms. It is our responsibility to preserve Liberty by not obeying lawless government agents.

  3. Yes, you do have a responsibility to fight. Doesn't mean you were lucky in the lottery though.

Some good guys will die. But when enough of the first and maybe second men of the raid team thorough the door get killed, they will quit, as they will run out of men willing to do it. They would rather put in their time and collect their government pension, and not getting home to momma that night being a prohibitive possibility, such actions will discontinue as a result of bottom up re-thinking of the issue.

Add to that offensive actions by angry and inspired proponents of fourth generation warfare.

May you be a lucky one and lose the lottery to be one of the first targets.

"During an arrest, you think since you are not guilty, how can they arrest you? Why should you run away? And how can you resist right then? After all, you’ll only make your situation worse; you will make it more difficult for them to sort out the mistake.

And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say goodbye to his family?

Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?

The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! We did not love freedom enough. Every man always has handy a dozen glib little reasons why he is right not to sacrifice himself."

  4. The only reason they would come for the guns is that they intend to kill you and don't want you able to fight back. So, yes, you do have a responsibility for self preservation. Or you can choose self sacrifice.

If they were your willing and obedient servants, they wouldn't care if you could fight back.

  5. I jokingly saidasked my county sheriff recently if he was going to hire more depututies to help Jim round up the guns for Obama. He laughed nervously and indicated that it would be an impossible task. CH
