Just a day after a weeping President Obama attempted to disembowel the 2d Amendment with a series of unconstitutional executive orders, a liberal judge in Maryland, caving to the mob justice in that plagues that benighted city, gutted the 5th Amendment. This occurred during a pre-trial hearing in the case of Officer Caesar R. Goodson, the second Baltimore City policeman to be tried criminally in the allegedly accidental death of small-time hood Freddie Gray.

The prosecution asked Judge Barry G. Williams to compel Officer William G. Porter, to testify against Goodson, and the judge, over the strenuous opposition of the defense, granted the motion

  1. Well, since we no longer press people to death for failing to plead/testify, all this means is that the cop can stand mute and be jailed for contempt; if the cop is sufficiently hard-nosed it becomes a war of who relents first, the judge or the cop.

  2. Only Obama, Lois Lerner, Bill and Hillary Clinton have the honor of the 5th. The rest of us have to, literally, bare arms.

  3. Forcing this officer to testify will with a certainty be
used as grounds for an appeal. And such an appeal would
almost certainly prevail, said officer could walk as the
chances of him getting a 'fair trial' would be zip. Not
sure if the judge is doing this because he's smart or
because he's stupid. Either way it's going to muddy up the
    proceedings pretty thoroughly.
