Author of 14th Amendment Explains EXACTLY Who It Was Meant For

Via Carl

imageedit_84_8470269415

Following the release of presidential candidate Donald Trump’s proposed immigration policies, a national debate has been sparked regarding the 14th Amendment to the Constitution and the idea of birthright citizenship.

Many have argued that the 14th Amendment infers automatic citizenship upon any person born within the United States, even if the person’s parents are in the country illegally.

This has led to the use of the term “anchor babies” to describe such persons, as the citizenship they are granted upon birth acts as an anchor to keep the family from being deported, despite their lack of legal status.

But that simply isn’t what was intended by the 14th Amendment, as proven by the words of the very man who authored the amendment in 1866, Michigan Sen. Jacob M. Howard.

Howard explained in writing exactly what the scope of the law was when he introduced it, making it quite clear that it was referring to granting citizenship to the recently freed slaves only, not foreigners or even Native Americans.

Refugee Resettlement Watch: European Invaders 75% men, 49% Non-Syrian

 graph-75-men
The incomparable Refugee Resettlement Watch has just posted a crucial factoid: UNHCR data confirms it: 75% of the so-called refugees arriving in Europe are MEN
We mentioned recently that it appears from some photos that the invaders of Europe are mostly fighting age young men.
The UN High Commissioner for Refugees does not tell us their ages, but does tell us that 75% are men. (Germans hide your daughters!)
Only 51% are Syrians, the rest are from all over the Middle East and Africa.
So, did the men abandon their women and children back home (in an unsafe country)?  What sort of men are these?
See the numbers from the horse’s mouth, here.  Hat tip: Mark

An attempted murder suspect who fired at NYPD officers was met with a barrage of 84 bullets from police – but a staggering 83 of those shots missed the man completely.

Jerrol Harris, 27, ran from police early on Friday morning after allegedly robbing and shooting a man in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York.

The victim, 52-year-old Leon Faison, was shot in the arm after he discovered Harris inside his car attempting to steal items at around 1:10am local time, ABC 7 reported.

He chased after Harris, spotting a pair of cops along the way. Faison provided them with a description of the suspect, and officers soon spotted Harris running about eight blocks from the scene of the crime.

Beyond their superior power and handling over the Mustangs on which they were based, Shelby’s GT coupes and convertibles always had a decided advantage in the looks department, especially the 1967 version. Its aggressive front end treatment extended the hood and nose for an extremely aggressive appearance that was furthered by body side scoops and an upswept tail spoiler.

The 1967 Shelby GT500 on offer here embodies that entire attitude in all its freshly restored glory. Its highly desirable Dark Moss Green paint with White striping and Black Décor interior make for a show-stopping combination.

Powered by the Shelby-modified 428 CI Police Interceptor V-8 engine, which was fitted with dual 600 CFM Holley 4-barrel carburetors on an aluminum intake manifold and given a factory rating of 355 HP, (Dyno about 400 BHP) it will surely set you back in your seat.

The U.S. Air Force is giving an ultimatum to owners of a remote Nevada property that over time has been surrounded by a vast bombing range including the super-secret Area 51.

They're being told to take a $5.2 million "last best offer" for their property by Thursday -- or the government will seize it through condemnation.

Commies Disrupt DC Confederate Flag Rally

Via comment by Anonymous on The War for Southern Independence: My Myth or Your...

I didn’t think it was a good idea to hold a Confederate flag rally in DC.

I thought it would be a waste of time to go up there. Why travel hundreds of miles to the place we want to secede from, in order to parade around in front of the dregs of society, who would inevitably reveal themselves to be a hateful, violent, vulgar mob, which I have seen on dozens of previous occasions?

The event went down pretty much exactly as I expected it would. In the two years the League of the South has been holding rallies in the South, we have never assaulted anyone, spit on anyone, or stolen anything from anyone who came out to oppose us. Those things are to be expected though from the “anti-racist” crowd who never fail to illustrate that they are the spitting image of everything they imagine us to be:

....... that some may find it hard to believe that it could incur any opposition other than from committed white supremacists. Make no mistake about it, we intend to keep bashing the dead white males, and the live ones, and the females too, until the social construct known as the white race is destroyed - not deconstructed but destroyed."

art-link-symbol-small-on-blue-tile-rev01.jpg Col. Bunny - What about importing 800,000 refugees or bogus asylum seekers doesn't make massive social, political, and economic problems an inevitability? Is the knowledge of hand grenade attacks in Malmo, Sweden not available to Western leaders? Are the 751 "sensitive urban zones" in France not known by them to be filled with Muslims and Africans seething with resentment against the French people?.. Why not just fire a gun randomly into a crowd of your countrymen every 30 minutes? The deleterious consequences of immigration are no less likely to occur. The absence of good will and stupidity, the adamant refusal to take appropriate defensive actions, and the obvious intent inferrable from deliberate actions make the willful, malign purpose of Western leaders quite clear.

art-link-symbol-small-on-blue-tile-rev01.jpg Stop calling them refugees, immigrants, or asylum seekers. This is an invasion force. It is 80%+ military age males. They aren't fleeing from oppression, they bring oppression. They aren't fleeing from violence, they bring violence. They are coming to the socialist welfare states seeking welfare. They want free housing. Free cars. Free clothes. Free money. Free food. They want everything your ancestors struggled thousands of years to give you, white man. They want you in the ground. They want you dead. And thanks to generations of pacifist brainwashing and Leftist propaganda, they're virtually unopposed in Europe.

Military prosecutors have reached into a section of military law seldom used since World War II in the politically fraught case against Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the soldier held prisoner for years by the Taliban after leaving his post in Afghanistan.

Observers wondered for months if Bergdahl would be charged with desertion after the deal brokered by the U.S. to bring him home. He was — but he was also charged with misbehavior before the enemy, a much rarer offense that carries a stiffer potential penalty in this case.

150 years since the CSS Shenandoah docked in Melbourne to a rock star's welcome

Via Philip

The CSS Shenandoah hauled out for repairs at the Williamstown Dockyard, Melbourne in February 1865.
Note the Confederate flag [possibly retouched] flying from her mizzen gaff, and fresh caulking between her planks.
"I wouldn't be surprised if there was a bit of Confederate DNA floating around Victoria."
It's a story way closer to Richmond, Victoria than the Confederate heartland of Richmond, Virginia – a little known chapter of local history that led to an Australian gun crew firing the last shot of the American Civil War.
These guys were celebrities. Melbourne really feted them. The ladies just loved them.
Terry Smyth, author of Australian Confederates
It's 150 years since the CSS Shenandoah docked in Melbourne to a rock star's welcome.

Captain James Waddell and his rebel officers were wined and dined during a stay of more than three weeks before being unceremoniously ousted for illegally recruiting Melburnians to the Confederate cause. Throw in an illicit love story between Waddell and a Union prisoner on board and it's a ripping yarn.

The Fairbairn-Sykes Fighting Knife plus huge Rock Island Auction

Both of the belts have interlocking brass "CS" buckles. One has a frog and the other has a hanger. The black leather belt holster is unmarked. The double edged fighting knife/dirk has a 9 inch blade that swells near the center, spines, an iron cross guard, brass fittings and a walnut handle.
Good to fine overall. The leather has cracking and general wear. The knife has a dark patina with light pitting and some cracks in the wood.

 **********************************************

Editor’s note: We’re looking back at a another historical blade. There are a lot of modern versions of this knife, and a lot of fakes. Where can you look if you want an original? Rock Island Auctions has a huge auction coming up this week. It starts on the 11th of September, and will run for several days. You can bid on-line, by phone, or by proxy. Check out the Fairbairn-Sykes they have coming up in the auction: http://www.rockislandauction.com/search/aid/65. (2,997 items)

We don’t just like things that go bang around here at GunsAmerica, we are also fans of the blade. This installment is a continuation of the history of the fighting knife that we started with the Ka-Bar knife of WWII fame.    The idea here is to look at some of the classic fighting knives for a bit of background on their development before we look at some more modern designs.

This brings us to another famous knife of WWII, albeit from the other side of the pond: the British Fairbairn-Sykes.

Trump: A Southern Conservative Perspective

 Source: Washington Post

There are several attributes of Donald Trump’s bid for the U.S. Presidency that this Paleo-Conservative finds to be interesting. To follow is an adumbration of the more salient.
1. His campaign style is refreshing. The absence of teleprompters, which results in spontaneity, which in turn reveals the unvarnished candidate in contradistinction to the coached, stale, and unconvincing political hacks, is refreshing. Trump’s campaign speeches and debate performance have actually juiced up political discourse, making politics interesting not simply for the political class but also for Middle American.
2. The engagement of Middle American into this presidential election cycle have the political class spooked. It is this same political class responsible for the removal of all things Confederate from the public square, not Middle American. It is Middle America that has catapulted Trump into the lead. In other words, Middle America may actually have some meaningful input into the election of the next POTUS.

Old Ridgeland Civil War (sic) battlefield in SC to get new look

Wade into the woods in Ridgeland looking for the site of the Battle of Honey Hill, and your chances of identifying something meaningful are slim.

A sign off of S.C. 336 tells a brief tale of the Confederate victory at the site in November 1864. The rest is up to those brave enough — and with enough local knowledge — to make their way around.

But the town of Ridgeland and preservationists are finalizing an effort to make the site more welcoming, to tell people what they are seeing and what took place and to preserve key elements of the battlefield.

The One Gun Violence Statistic that No One Wants to Talk About

Everyone involved in the great gun debate wants to reduce firearm-related violence. Of course, the two sides differ on solutions to the problem. To oversimplify for the sake of brevity, the National Rifle Association wants to put guns in the hands of more law-abiding citizens in the hope that an armed society creates a politer society, whereas Everytown for Gun Safety wants to restrict access to guns in the hope that it keeps them from falling into the wrong hands.

However, truth be told, neither solution really addresses the elephant in the room which is that gun-related violence is an epidemic in the African American community. To quote from a recent Pew Study:

**************************************

Recently, after spending three months in Colorado I returned to North Carolina to a large list of errands. The first of these errands was replacing a lost passport, which meant I had to go to the Post Office in downtown Wilmington. I rarely go downtown, largely because the area is infested with drugs and crime. Unsurprisingly, before I left the downtown area I passed a crime scene. Judging by the number of police cars I could tell it was a murder.

In addition to the things I knew there were some things I merely suspected when I happened upon that crime scene. For example, I suspected that both the perpetrator and the victim were young black males between the ages of 15 and 25. I’m not Sherlock Holmes. You don’t need to be a detective to know that black on black violence is rampant in downtown Wilmington.

It should go without saying that I was unsurprised when I watched the evening news and learned that the victim was a young black male and that a young black male suspect was already in custody. But the following statement made by Police Chief Ralph Evangelous did surprise me: “Where is the outcry in our community? God forbid it would be an officer involved in this situation, we’d have a protest.”

Another!? Chinese Chemical Plant Explodes, Huge Clouds Of Black Smoke Billow Skyward

Via sauced05

If you’re planning on travelling to China, we have two pieces of advice:
  1. Do not look like a short seller
  2. Do not go near any chemical factories
Failing to heed the first tip there could get you thrown in jail (or, as Man Group’s China chief Li Yifei calls it, sent on a "short vacation").

The consequences of failing to follow the second piece of advice above could be, how should we put this... explosive.

With Beijing still scrambling to contain the fallout (both figuratively and literally) from the devastating blast at Tianjin which killed some 160 people and injured more than 700 last month, the country is on edge. Two additional chemical blasts (both in Shandong) did little to calm China’s frayed nerves and now, a fourth blast, this time in Zhejiang, has been reported.

Previously Deported Criminal Alien Allowed to Stay Because He is Transgender

Previously Deported Criminal Alien Transgender

A previously deported criminal alien from Mexico with a felony conviction has been allowed to stay in the United States because he is transgender. Deportation would be inhumane, the Federal Appeal Courts for the Ninth Circuit ruled.

In the opinion filed on September 3, Judge Jacqueline Nguyen (A Vietnamese liberal?  I guess our commie schools brain washes them also.) disregarded the fact that Edin Avendano-Hernandez, who had been previously deported, had been convicted of DWI and had a felony conviction for injuring people while driving drunk when ruling in his/her favor.

The judge further criticized the lower courts for being insensitive to the previously deported criminal alien.

POLL: Trump Receives 25% of Black Vote – Enough to Ensure a GOP Landslide

 trump

Very interesting considering Trump had mentioned something to the effect before.

A SurveyUSA poll released Friday shows that 25% of black respondents said they would vote for Trump over Clinton.

According to The American Mirror Trump would more than double the best result for a Republican in modern American history… Looking at the last 10 presidential election cycles, the highest black vote share for a Republican was 12% for Bob Dole in 1996.

In an election for President of the United States, today, Labor Day, business provocateur Donald Trump narrowly defeats Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders and Al Gore, in head-to-head matchups, according to nationwide polling conducted by SurveyUSA.

Today it's:
