The OPD Bomb Squad Unit was made aware of the undetermined amount of missing explosives earlier today. According to police, the explosives were supposed to be transported from Odessa to the Halliburton location in Reeves County.

The Court of Tortured Language

It's amusing to see what sort of torture the USSC goes through in an attempt to "find consensus."
1. Absent reasonable suspicion, police extension of a traffic stop in order to conduct a dog sniff violates the Constitution’s shield against unreasonable seizures. A routine traffic stop is more like a brief stop under Terry v. Ohio, 392 U. S. 1, than an arrest, see, e.g., Arizona v. Johnson, 555 U. S. 323, 330. Its tolerable duration is determined by the seizure’s “mission,” which is to address the traffic violation that warranted the stop, Illinois v. Caballes, 543 U. S. 405, 407 and attend to related safety concerns. Authority for the seizure ends when tasks tied to the traffic infraction are—or reasonably should have been— completed. The Fourth Amendment may tolerate certain unrelated investigations that do not lengthen the roadside detention, Johnson, 555 U. S., at 327–328 (questioning); Caballes, 543 U. S., at 406, 408 (dog sniff), but a traffic stop “become[s] unlawful if it is prolonged beyond the time reasonably required to complete th[e] mission” of issuing a warning ticket, id., at 407.
Beyond determining whether to issue a traffic ticket, an officer’s mission during a traffic stop typically includes checking the driver’s license, determining whether there are outstanding warrants against the driver, and inspecting the automobile’s registration and proof of insurance. These checks serve the same objective as enforcement of the traffic code: ensuring that vehicles on the road are operated safely and responsibly. See Delaware v. Prouse, 440 U. S. 648, 658–659. Lacking the same close connection to roadway safety as the ordinary inquiries, a dog sniff is not fairly characterized as part of the officer’s traffic mission.

Huffington Post Endorses a New, Racist Jim Crow Rule

Via Joe

A black writer for Huffington Post Canada who calls herself a “journalist” is calling for segregation and a new rule of Jim Crow, but in reverse. She says that blacks and other minorities should be allowed to exclude white people from the things they do–but that whites can’t have racism perpetrated against them so they shouldn’t be allowed to be just as exclusive.

Aeman Ansari, a fourth-year journalism student at Ryerson University, reported on an incident at her school where two white students were refused entry into a meeting because they were white. Ansari noted that she thought it was right and good that white people should be discriminated against because they are white.

Essentially, Ansari is endorsing a new Jim Crow regime where blacks are allowed to create segregated events but whites aren’t.

Rape, robbery suspect

A woman who boarded a CTA train in Oak Park on Monday afternoon was brutally beaten and sexually assaulted by a 15-year-old boy, Cook County prosecutors said Thursday.

The entire incident on the eastbound Blue Line train was captured on CTA video that clearly showed middle school student DeShawn Isabelle’s face, prosecutors said.

Confederate Memorial Day in the South

Via LH

Tennessee Senator Edward Ward Carmack said it best in 1903:
“The Confederate Soldiers were our kinfolk and our heroes. We testify to the country our enduring fidelity to their memory. We commemorate their valor and devotion. There were some things that were not surrendered at Appomattox.
We did not surrender our rights and history; nor was it one of the conditions of surrender that unfriendly lips should be suffered to tell the story of that war or that unfriendly hands should write the epitaphs of the Confederate dead. We have the right to teach our children the true history of the war, the causes that led up to it and the principles involved.”

Deranged Austin Police Chief Claims Texas Gun Law Will Lead To “Open Season” By Criminals

Like most big-city police chiefs, Austin, Police Chief Art Acevedo is reliably anti-gun.

He’s also not terribly bright, a fact he proves as he attempts to link new open carry legislation in Texas to narco-terrorism, biker gangs, and “extremists” in a hyperbolic and fact-free rant.

In Order to Form a More Perfect Union

I have been giving our government a lot of thought and could write a book on the subject. A long, boring book, that no one would read, not even an editor. So, instead I will put my ideas for improving the government here:

1. Abolish the Senate. We don’t need it. It is a redundant House. It is based on a system of lords and commons and we have neither in this country. Roll it’s legitimate duties into the House and call it “the Assembly”.

Alabama's Confederate History Month 'an embarrassing abomination,' says former White House advisor

Kiss my ruddy, red rectum and go back whence you came.

Seven states - including Alabama – have designated April as Confederate History Month. And that, at least according to Jeff Schweitzer, a scientist and former White House senior policy analyst, is an "embarrassing abomination" that should end.

Writing for Huffington Post, Schweitzer, a Ph.D. in marine biology/neurophysiology, said the designation of April as a month to remember the Confederacy is a "misguided paean to a troubling past."

"Southerners today seem incapable of understanding that the South started and then lost a war that nearly destroyed the United States. The South lost decisively. The rebel cause was unjust, immoral and treasonous. The economic justification was unseemly; the actions were treasonous. There is no part of the Confederate cause of which to be proud.

There is no moral high ground here," he wrote.

Immigration Document Overload

What are the signs that your community has been secretly selected for an infusion of refugees from Muslim nations like Syria or Somalia, or migrant workers from Central America?

The Obama White House released a report last week on the integration of immigrants and refugees that provides some clues.

It could be something as simple as a new billboard along the highway touting the contributions of diverse immigrant populations and refugees. Or maybe you’ll hear a radio spot or see a TV ad delivering the same type of message.

Your city council may pass a proclamation “celebrating” and “welcoming” the “cultural diversity” and economic benefits of refugees and other “new Americans.”

House Report: IRS Prioritized Bonuses And Union Activity Over Customer Service

The report comes just one week after IRS Commissioner John Koskinen said his agency could not handle customer demand.

The House Ways and Means Committee released a report Wednesday showing the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) prioritized bonuses for employees and union activity in the face of budget cuts.

Entitled “Doing Less with Less: The IRS’s Spending Decisions Harm Taxpayers,” the committee’s findings were staggering.

Mayor Slay: It’s Time to Rethink Confederate Monument in Forest Park

Via Carl

During the official dedication of Forest Park’s only memorial commemorating fallen Confederate soldiers, in December 1914, Mrs. H. N. Spencer asked the city of St. Louis to “guard [Confederate Monument] as a sacred trust.

“It seems fitting that Missouri, so strongly Southern in sentiment, should have the shaft reared here in this, her great metropolis,” said Spencer, who led the $23,000 effort to build the monument, according to Confederate Veteran magazine. “It is the embodiment of our love.”

A century later, in a city still struggling to find unity, Mayor Francis Slay is asking local experts whether preserving the 32-foot granite memorial to the Confederacy would mean continuing to display it in one of St. Louis' most popular attractions.

Australia Sends Clear Simple Message to Illegals: NO WAY

Via Joe

Australia has been bedeviled with illegal immigrants boarding boats and floating towards their shores for the past few years.

The problem got worse once word got out that the Australian government giving illegals welcome hampers, mobile phones, plasma TVs, housing, medical and other household items- all at a cost to the taxpayer.

Australians demanded a change and in 2013 they changed the government and their immigration policy.

 secret forces

Juan Martín Díez sends, via this classic:

“…But Napoleon’s famous maxim, ‘the whole secret of the art of war lies in making oneself the master of the communications’, is truer than ever and the lines of supply, on which [vehicles] rely for fuel, constitute the Achilles’ heel of all [vehicular] forces. To harass and army’s lines of communication is to paralyse its moral strength; to destroy its means of intercommunication-by which orders and reports pass-is to paralyse the sensory connection between brain and body. The destruction of radio stations and telegraph installations makes an [army] deaf and dumb…”

Cops Kill Man for Refusing to ID as He Dropped Off Stray Cat to Animal Shelter

Via III Percent Patriots

http://tftppull.freethoughtllc.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/man-killed-dropping-off-stray-cat.jpg

In late December of 2014, Robert Earl Lawrence, 30, in an act of compassion, took a stray cat to the Dothan Animal Shelter. What was a seemingly selfless act of kindness would subsequently end with Lawrence being fatally gunned down by a cop.

Almost four months after that fateful day, police have provided the public with no more answers than were given the day after the killing. They have maintained a blanket of virtual silence surrounding the incident.

As we reported previously, the staff at the shelter, rather than simply accepting the cat, proceeded to demand that Lawrence show government issued identification. Per shelter policy, they demanded Lawrence show ID, prior to being allowed to leave, according to information released by police immediately after the shooting.

Lawrence showed them a notarized legal identification in the form of an affidavit, rather than the standard Department of Motor Vehicle issued ID card. In what would prove to be a fatal move, shelter employees refused to accept his form of ID and called the police.

Immediately upon arrival, the police began to force Lawrence to show his ID, eventually attempting to arrest him. In an apparent struggle, Lawrence was fatally shot by the officer in the abdomen, according to police.
