Edward Snowden statue appears in Brooklyn overnight

A trio of anonymous artists and helpers installed a bust of Edward Snowden in Brooklyn Monday morning.

The 100-pound statue was hauled into Fort Greene Park just before dawn, according to ANIMALNewYork, which originally reported the story.

The idea for the statue came from two artists and was made by a West Coast sculptor. Snowden leaked classified information from the National Security Agency to mainstream media in June 2013.

He was charged by the U.S. Department of Justice with two counts of violating the Espionage Act and theft of government property and currently lives in Russia.

Robert E. Lee prayed for North during Civil War

Wilmer McLean’s farm in Manassas Junction, Virginia, was the location of the first Battle of Bull Run in 1861. Confederate General P.G.T. Beauregard, who was using McLean’s house as his headquarters, wrote: “…of this artillery fight was the destruction of the dinner of myself and staff by a Federal shell that fell into the fire-place of my headquarters at the McLean House.”

The Confederates won the first Battle of Bull Run due in large part to General “Stonewall” Jackson holding his ground like a “stonewall,” resulting in his nickname.

With momentum on their side, Confederate troops could have pursued the fleeing and exhausted Union army 20 miles to Washington and won the war. Instead, an unusually heavy rain turned roads into mud pits and they called off the pursuit.

Wilmer McLean moved away from the conflict, yet almost four years later his new home, near Appomattox Court House, Virginia, was the agreed location for General Robert E. Lee to surrender to General Ulysses S. Grant on Palm Sunday, April 9, 1865.

"Rednecks"

Last night I saw Lester Maddox on a TV show
With some smart-ass New York Jew
And the Jew laughed at Lester Maddox
And the audience laughed at Lester Maddox too
Well, he may be a fool but he's our fool
If they think they're better than him they're wrong
So I went to the park and I took some paper along
And that's where I made this song

We talk real funny down here
We drink too much and we laugh too loud
We're too dumb to make it in no Northern town
And we're keepin' the niggers down
We got no-necked oilmen from Texas
And good ol' boys from Tennessee
And college men from LSU
Went in dumb - come out dumb too
Hustlin' 'round Atlanta in their alligator shoes
Gettin' drunk every weekend at the barbecues
And they're keepin' the niggers down

We're rednecks, rednecks
And we don't know our ass from a hole in the ground
We're rednecks, we're rednecks
And we're keeping the niggers down

Now your northern nigger's a Negro
You see he's got his dignity
Down here we're too ignorant to realize
That the North has set the nigger free
Yes he's free to be put in a cage
In Harlem in New York City
And he's free to be put in a cage in the South-Side of Chicago
And the West-Side
And he's free to be put in a cage in Hough in Cleveland
And he's free to be put in a cage in East St. Louis
And he's free to be put in a cage in Fillmore in San Francisco
And he's free to be put in a cage in Roxbury in Boston
They're gatherin' 'em up from miles around
Keepin' the niggers down

We're rednecks, we're rednecks
We don't know our ass from a hole in the ground
We're rednecks, we're rednecks
And we're keeping the niggers down
We are keeping the niggers down

"New birth of freedom day" and "Progressive thought"

It can be argued that "progressive thought" is an oxymoron. The word thought implies logic, rational deliberation, and the use of facts. None of this applies to liberals, for whom the primary force is emotions. Listen to a liberal and you frequently hear feelings as in "I feel", it makes me feel" or "don't you care", have a heart. When they do use "thought" it is usually as a means to justify a decision based on their emotions.

What they refuse to take into consideration is that emotions/feeling are subjective and subject to change. Advertising today is based on manipulating the emotions. You are encouraged to buy a product, not based on the merits of a certain brand (Ford vs Chevy, Coke vs Pepsi) but on a feeling you are suppose to have because you have that product.

I do thank Mr Beutler for the notion of a national holiday to celebrate "New birth of freedom day". I am grateful that I was not drinking any thing at the time I read his comments. It was good for a belly laugh. Given the current depraved state of this country, he has zero clue as to irony of his statement.

Tell how free are we when you must pass through a security screening to prove you are not a terrorist when flying. How free are you when you are being spied on by your own government, even though you have done nothing to warrant it. How free are you when you are increasingly censored in your speech or stating an opinion, lest it hurt somebodies feeling. How free are you when you can not practice your religious faith in your every day life. How free are you when the rule of law is ignored and those who knowingly violate the law go unpunished because of who they are or know? Go rob a local gas station and you will go to jail. Go steal 1.6 billion dollars of other peoples funds entrusted to your company and lie under oath before a congressional committee, and walk away smiling because you have friend in high places to protect you. How free are you when you can have your money and property confiscated by LEOs because it was "suspicious" but there was zero cause to think it was used or due to illegal drugs. You were never changed with a crime, it was just taken from you and you must prove that it was not used in a crime for you to get it back.

How free are you when the Federal Government enacts laws that dictate what kind of light bulbs you can use in your house, or how many gallons your toilet can hold when you flush it. How free are you when you are forced to pay other peoples medical procedures, even though you object to it and consider it highly immoral and evil (abortion). How free are you when the Federal Government will send paramilitary armed men to stop you from freely buying a product that the other parties are willing to sell to you (raw milk). How free are you when you are forced to pay dues to a union as condition of employment? How free are you when the Federal Government tells you, you can not go on lands, parks or monuments that belong to the public. How free are you when, elected officials try disarm you and dictate what kind of firearms you are allowed to own, even though, you have never misused them or threatened any one with them.

And you average American, who in many ways is an idiot, has zero idea about what that war was fought over, except for repeating the official line that it was about ending slavery and how great a president Lincoln was. (Barf)

Angry Judge Just Issued A Scathing Amnesty Ruling That Exposes Obama’s Deception

Via Joe

Images Credit: Fox News

The Obama administration certainly didn’t get what it wanted from a federal judge late Tuesday, and at the same time Obama’s legal team got much more than it bargained for.

U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen not only refused to lift his order temporarily blocking the president’s unilateral action on amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants, he also issued what The Washington Examiner called “a scathing rebuke” to Obama’s lawyers for “misleading” him.

In fact, says the Examiner report by Byron York, the angry judge “came very near to accusing administration lawyers of flat-out lying to him.”
The administration’s assertions in the immigration case have been “misleading,” “troublesome,” and “belied by the facts,” Hanen wrote. “Any number of federal judges, given this misconduct, would consider striking the government’s pleadings.”
Doing so would effectively end the case altogether, and Hanen wrote that he had decided not to take that action because the issues at stake are of great national importance.

Today’s Church Would Say “Nyet” to Black Robed Regiment

Recently I watched a You Tube video presentation by Pastor Dan Fisher of Yukon, Oklahoma on a group of pastors during our First War for Independence (the second one was fought from 1861-65 and still continues culturally) which the British dubbed “the Black Robed Regiment.” Pastor Fisher has also written a book dealing with this, Bringing Back the Black Robed Regiment.

Larry Pratt, the head of Gun Owners of America (an organization I support) wrote an article about this in July of 2014 that appeared on http://www.freedomoutpost.com and he described the Black Robed Regiment as “patriot preachers of the 18th Century, who led their congregations to battle the abusive tyranny of the Redcoats.” Can you even picture such a thing today, given the condition of most of our churches? It’s difficult.

We’ve been told for years that “religion and politics don’t mix and they are the two things you never talk about.” I can remember hearing this at home as a kid. It was the prevailing theology in most of the country in the late 1940s and 50s when I grew up, and although that has changed somewhat, the results, due to historical ignorance, have been mixed.

Should there be a national holiday celebrating the defeat of the Confederacy?

Via Billy

http://www.civilwar.org/photos/galleries/appomattox-court-house/images/last-salute.jpg

To paraphrase American poet Shawn Carter, I just read a magazine that messed up my day.

The New Republic's Brian Beutler published a piece earlier this week calling on the United States to make April 9 a national holiday. Tomorrow will mark the 150 anniversary of Robert E. Lee's surrender to Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox Courthouse - a day that Beutler thinks should be called "New Birth of Freedom Day."

Beutler has put me in a bind.

I'm not a Confederate sympathizer, and I cringe every time I pass the giant Confederate flag on I-165 en route to Montgomery. But, Beutler's piece is bullying and heavy handed. It contradicts the very advice that he claims to adhere to; it sugarcoats the North's history on race; and his proposed name for a national holiday is laughable.

Condemning slavery and Jim Crow is the easiest, laziest form of progressive thought.

Congratulations, Mr. Beutler, you're right. Racism is terrible. Cue the fireworks. Look, objectively, we can all agree in 2015 that slavery and Jim Crow laws were wrong - but they also don't paint a complete picture of America's treatment of minorities both north and south of the Mason-Dixon Line. Slavery and Jim Crow are also the only racial topics that are even adequately addressed in textbooks (yes, even Southern textbooks). It's every other American injustice that we gloss over.

The new birth of freedom? Hardly.

As Randy Newman writes in his song "Rednecks," the slaves were indeed free. They were free to be put in a cage in Harlem in New York City, and free to be put in a cage in the South-Side of Chicago and the West-Side, and free to be put in a cage in Hough in Cleveland, and free to be put in a cage in East St. Louis, and free to be put in a cage in Fillmore in San Francisco, and free to be put in a cage in Roxbury in Boston.

An infertile woman convinced her new husband to repeatedly rape her 15-year-old daughter so she could have another child.

Misty Machinshok, 33, has been jailed for 15 to 30 years for the abuse in which she 'coached' the pair on the best positions to conceive, and held her daughter's hand 'the first few times'.

She planned to tell friends and family that the teenager got pregnant with a stranger at a house party in their home town of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

Her 29-year-old husband Gary Machinshok, who she met through a website called onlinebootycall.com, will be sentenced this month after pleading no contest to raping the child 'every few days' throughout 2013.

Jefferson Davis on Government Border Police

 http://izquotes.com/quotes-pictures/quote-never-be-haughty-to-the-humble-or-humble-to-the-haughty-jefferson-davis-47820.jpg

In December 1860, Senator James S. Green of Missouri proposed that the Committee of the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the propriety of a law to establish an armed police force between North and South, in order to maintain peace between those sections. Below is Senator Jefferson Davis’ reply.

Bernhard Thuersam, www.Circa1865.com

Davis on Government Border Police

“Do we wish to erect a central Colossus, wielding at discretion the military arm, and exercising military force over the people and the States? This is not the Union to which we were invited; and so carefully was this guarded, when our fathers provided for using force to put down insurrection, they required that the fact of the insurrection should be communicated by the authorities of the State before the President could interpose.

When it was proposed to give Congress power to execute the laws against a delinquent State, it was refused on the ground that that would be making war on the States; and, though I know the good purpose of my honorable friend from Missouri is only to give protection to constitutional rights, I fear his proposition is to rear a monster, which will break the feeble chain provided, and destroy rights it was intended to guard.

That military Government which he is about to institute, by passing into hostile hands, becomes a weapon for his destruction, not for his protection. All dangers which may be called upon to confront as independent communities are light, in my estimation, compared with that which would hang over us if this Federal Government had such physical force; if its character was changed from a representative agent of States to a central Government, with a military used at discretion against the States.

To-day it may be the idea that it will be used against some State which nullifies the Constitution and the laws; some State which passes laws to obstruct or repeal the laws of the United States . . . But how long might it be before that same military force would be turned against the minority section which had sought its protection; and that minority thus become mere subjugated provinces under the great military government that it had thus contributed to establish?

The minority, incapable of aggression, is, of necessity, always on the defensive, and often the victim of the desertion of its followers and the faithlessness of its allies. It therefore must maintain, not destroy, barriers.

[To confer on this Federal Government a power to coerce a State, a power it does not possess], . . . then, in the language of Mr. Madison, he is providing, not for a union of States, but for the destruction of States; he is providing, under the name of the union, to carry on a war against States; and I care not whether it be against Massachusetts or Missouri, it is equally objectionable to me; and I will resist it alike in the one case and in the other, as subversive of the great principle on which our Government rests; as a heresy to be confronted at its first presentation, and put down there, lest it grow into proportions which will render us powerless before it.

The theory of our Constitution, Mr. President, is one of peace, of equality of sovereign States. It was made by States and made for States; and for greater assurance they passed an amendment, doing that which was necessarily implied by the nature of the instrument, as it was a mere instrument of grants. But, in the abundance of caution, they declared that everything which had not been delegated was reserved to the States, or to the people – that is, to the State governments as instituted by the people of each State, or to the people in their sovereign capacity.

Upon you of the majority section it depends to restore peace and perpetuate the Union of equal States; upon us of the minority section rests the duty to maintain our equality and community rights; and the means in one case or the other must be such as each can control.”

The Muslim Brotherhood in America: Key Doctrines of Deception. Part 6 of a Series

Image result for Bobby Jindal muslim quotes

Mike Scruggs

Every American should be familiar with the key doctrines of Islam. It is essential for both family and national security. Unfortunately, the fashionable American infatuation with multiculturalism, relativism, and diversity, and the increasingly heavy social and intellectual chains of political correctness make acquiring a discerning knowledge of Islam unpopular and socially risky. But learning the truth about Islam is becoming essential to the survival of the American Republic and truth itself.

One of the least reliable places to learn about Islam is the U.S. government. Political correctness and a counterfactual fictional version of Islam as a religion of peace and tolerance are highly institutionalized in our federal bureaucracy, and this has become even more crushing in the last two years.  Even the FBI and the CIA are plagued with political correctness, and many reports that contradict the dangerous PC myths about Islam are either rebuked or ignored. This has allowed the Brotherhood to infiltrate deeply into agencies critical to national security, especially where expert knowledge of Middle Eastern languages and cultures are critical. Politically correct sensitivity training for military personnel could blindside commanders to potential threats like the 2009 Fort Hood massacre. Most media and academic institutions are also thoroughly bound by social and intellectual straightjackets concerning Islam.

Allah is the Arabic word for God, but the character of Allah in the Koran is far different from the God of Judeo-Christian scriptures. Christianity and Islam have surface similarities, but in depth, they are really polar opposites.  Many Muslims who have converted to Christianity believe that the Allah of Islam, the Koran, and the teachings of Muhammad (the Sunna) is an extreme distortion of God. Many orthodox Christian theologians believe that Allah is a pagan god that has acquired some thoroughly adulterated Judeo-Christian attributes.  It is obvious to these Christian Bible scholars that portions of the Koran are inaccurate, often grossly inaccurate, borrowings from Old and New Testament scriptures. Muslims, of course, believe that it is the Christian and Jewish scriptures that have become corrupted.

Most Americans know something about Jihad.  It is holy warfare to spread Islam and is a pervasive major doctrine of Islam. The doctrine of Jihad comes directly from the Koran and the teachings of Muhammad. The claim that jihad is a spiritual struggle has little validity in the Koran or Muslim history.  As the Ayatollah Khomeini said, “Kill all the unbelievers just as they would kill you all!” Osama bin Laden did not hijack Islam and invent jihad. He quoted the Koran correctly and was obedient to its violent teachings of conquest and vengeance.

Another key doctrine of Islam that Americans must know is Taqiyya. It is an Arabic word meaning “concealment.” Under this doctrine Muslims are allowed to lie to protect themselves and are encouraged to lie to advance Islam. Although many Sunni Muslim apologists refer to it as a Shiite doctrine, it is established in verses of the Koran and the Sunna and thus applies to both Shiite and Sunni Muslims. It is generally manifested as dissimulation, lying, or deceiving non-Muslims in the cause of Islam. Its sanction in the Koran and Muhammad’s life have been used to justify lying under oath in a U.S. Court or making the misleading statement to the media that “Islam is a religion of peace.” Peace in the definition of Sharia only occurs when all accept the supremacy of Sharia. This kind of peace would include the overthrow and replacement of the U.S. Constitution by Islamic Law. At least three U.S. presidents have been grossly deceived by this subtle but colossal contradiction to the real truth. Consequently, the last place to look for truth about Islam is a Muslim imam or mullah. Nor would you discover truth by listening to Muslim Brotherhood front organizations like the Council for American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

One reason that Americans are so easily deceived by Muslim propaganda is that so many no longer know or accept the doctrines of Biblical Christianity. Many have bought into multiculturalist universalism and the notion that there are many paths to God and to salvation. However, that is not what the Bible teaches. A cardinal doctrine of Christianity is that salvation is found in Christ alone. It is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Multiculturalist universalism is actually heretical apostasy. In John 14: 6, Jesus said, “I am the way the truth, and the life, no man comes to the Father except through me.” Acts 4: 12 says, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Nor are all religions praying to the same god.  In 1 Timothy 2: 5, we have, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” Although Muslims often try to gain the confidence of Christians by insisting that “we are praying to the same god,” they consider such universalism blasphemy.

The doctrine of abrogation is extremely important to understanding the Koran. The Koran is inconsistent on many issues. Later verses abrogate (cancel) earlier inconsistent verses. Unfortunately, this means that most of the peaceful verses written in Mecca have been abrogated by the later violent verses written in Medina. Muslims frequently quote abrogated peaceful verses of the Koran to deceive non-Muslims.

The doctrine of Islamic Supremacism insists that Islam must dominate all other religions. “There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is his Prophet.” There is no allowance for religious freedom in Islamic Law.

For the last three years, President Obama has been bringing 100,000 legal Muslim immigrants per year into the United States with minimal national security vetting. When Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal heard this, he remarked: “That’s not immigration; that’s invasion.” Exactly!  Jindal did not back down, when the PC media police were outraged. They were especially incensed when Jindal warned that unless Muslim immigration becomes considerably more restrictive, we can expect an increase in tragic mayhem against innocent Americans.

Running through a field toward cover just outside a village in the Iraqi city of Daquq, Chris Toney said he could practically feel the hail of bullets whizzing past his head. He could hear the sound of the unsettling “crack” that bullets make when they hit nearby, just another reminder that his time on Earth could end in an instant.

“Down!” one of his commanders screamed.

The order sent Toney and his fellow fighters to the ground, the sound of rapid gunfire still ringing out in the distance. He had already witnessed one of his fellow Americans get shot in the leg right in front of him.

As he lay face-down in the grass, Toney said, he thought about why his team was so badly outmanned by Islamic State militants.

Border Patrol Agent Suspects Apprehended Illegal Immigrant Was Russian Asset Sent to Infiltrate the U.S.

Via Joe

A U.S. Border Patrol canine team stands nearby after they helped detain a group of undocumented immigrants near the U.S.-Mexico border on April 11, 2013 near Mission, Texas. A group of 16 immigrants from Mexico and El Salvador said they crossed the Rio Grande River from Mexico into Texas during the morning hours before they were caught. The Rio Grande Valley sector of the border has had more than a 50 percent increase in illegal immigrant crossings from last year, according to the Border Patrol. Agents say they have also seen an additional surge in immigrant traffic since immigration reform negotiations began this year in Washington D.C. Proposed refoms could provide a path to citizenship for many of the estimated 11 million undocumented workers living in the United States. Credit: Getty Images

TheBlaze TV’s For the Record says it has exclusively learned that a man who entered the U.S. illegally in February 2015 was suspected of being a “Russian asset sent to infiltrate the U.S.”

“The man said he was a former Iraqi soldier who had recently lived in Ukraine and was on his way to Maryland,” a For the Record narrator said in a preview of the show that aired on The Glenn Beck Program Tuesday. “According to a DHS intelligence document, the apprehending agent suspected that the man was actually a Russian asset sent to infiltrate the U.S.”

Glenn Beck interviewed Chris Cabrera, vice president of the National Border Patrol Council, who appears in the For the Record special airing Wednesday.

“We’ve seen people from Iraq. We’ve seen people Syria, Turkey, Ethiopia, Somalia, Albania, you name it, Pakistan, they’ve come here,” Cabrera said. “It is very concerning to see something like that. That’s just one of the people that we catch. Obviously a lot more get past us.”
