Beginning Feb. 1, Virginia will no longer honor the out-of-state concealed handgun carry permits of gun owners from more than two dozen of the states with which the commonwealth currently has reciprocal privileges.

  1. Yup. Another state I'll detour. I no longer have a need to go north anyway. The rest of my family is behind enemy lines (Jersey and Illinois), God help them. Thank you God I'm in Ga. But I suspect the cancer will spread.

  2. When I retired I vowed I would never leave the South again. Now I no longer consider Virginia to be in the South.

If they hadn't set up a dummy to take away some of the conservative vote, he wouldn't have made it.

  4. This was funny when it happend back in the early nineties, but I had no idea that it would come to pass. There was guy that I met a CW re-enactment and we were discussing a variety of things. When he told me "I don't trust anyone north of the Mason-Dixon Line and I am not sure about some folks in Tennessee!". The funny part was this guy lived in Limestone County Alabama which borders Tennessee! The guy was dead serious and I suppose some of his suspicions were well founded as I later learned that the metropolitan areas of Tennessee (as are most large cities) are hotbeds of political correctness and folks who pull the donkey's tail when they vote! LOL

  5. It's ridiculous and unfortunately i have to go through VA and into Md. on Thursday! Have any of you ever looked at taking the VA concealed carry class? Get this. It takes 45 minutes to watch the video ON LINE. Then you have to pass an 11 question quiz that everyone reading this can pass without watching the video. Then you pay them online $79 and print out the certificate. If you live in VA you take the cert. to your county to be processed. If you live out of state you send it to the VA State Patrol.

My NC course took 8 hours and required actual qualifying with the firearm! Check out VA's law. http://virginiaconcealed.com/get-certified/
I bet their AG doesn't even realize how easy it is to get a permit in his wonderful state. Not that I'm complaining. If not for wasting $79.00 I'd order one right now. CH

    1. I'd like the AG to explain that, but wait a minute, commies don't need logic.

  7. We are not Virginia anymore. We are southside D.C. I apologize for any inconvenience. Our leadership and state police have picked their side of the fence. Please don't judge true Virginians by their choices. We're on your side...

    1. All of Virginia is red except for the cities and areas around DC. By the way, the land that formed DC came half from Virginia. Should take it back. :)

  8. It appears this measure is about "feeling good" (aka political correctness) and THE MONEY!
