Clinton-Gore 1992

Clinton Gore 1992 Confederate

In the aftermath of the race-motivated Charleston church shooting spree that left nine dead, a number of Republicans have allowed themselves to be placed on the defensive, even when they have no personal baggage related to the Confederate flag.

In Massachusetts, for instance, Republican Governor Charlie Baker has come under heavy fire from the Boston Globe after saying the issue was one for the people of South Carolina to decide on their own. Baker never said he supported the flag itself, but that was overlooked as the paper made its partisan attacks.
