Rep. Linda Sanchez (NM-D) (She is not from NM, but CA. BT)“And The Vietnamese Do Turn Out And Vote” called for drug testing Americans who inherit substantial legacies from their parents. In speaking at a committee hearing on March 18, the New Mexico Democrat said that Americans who receive government subsidies such as food stamps already submit to drug tests and thus reasoned that the “lucky” inheritors of wealth should do likewise. “What work requirements are there to inherit up to $10 million tax free?” she asked a witness. “Why is that [a single mother] should be drug tested, which is an unrelated requirement to receive food assistance, to make sure that her family has enough to eat,” asked Sanchez. “And people who are lucky enough to inherit millions of dollars are literally required to do nothing to get the federal tax benefit with their inheritance?”

DeletePrecisely. The money my father made in order to purchase farms was taxed originally, then every year he owned them he was taxed on the ownership of them, then when he died it was taxed again. I'm sure they'd like to figure out how they could tax it another two or three times.

Same deal 10 - 12 hour days, six days a week, sometimes seven and he always heard the same thing from politicians: "I know you work hard, but your not paying enough."

ReplyDeletePoliticians do everything to increase the money flowing in their direction. This would have to be policed somehow if instituted (not saying it has a snowball's chance in hell) but you never know.
Another 'office of inheritance predrug testing' would be created with taxpayer dollars to fund it. If they can have an "office of stuffed animal safety" - they can gobble up millions for this. "For the children. For education."
NEver mind that all these tax increasing schemes - milage taxes, junk food taxes, etc- cost more to implement then they raise in revenue.
Bankrupt the nation to bring it ever closer to commie paradise which worked so well in the past and with the current collectivists in control will exceed everyone's wildest dreams............
