Tom Brokaw Calls for Brian Williams to Be Fired over Stolen Valor Story

The ground beneath NBC anchor Brian Williams’ feet grew more unstable on Thursday, as the New York Post reports NBC News icon Tom Brokaw is calling for Williams to be fired after he was forced to recant a phony story about taking fire in Iraq that he’s been telling for years.

NBC’s most revered journalist is furious that Brian Williams is still in the anchor chair after he sheepishly admitted he hadn’t traveled on a helicopter hit by enemy fire.
“Brokaw wants Williams’ head on a platter,” an NBC source said. “He is making a lot of noise at NBC that a lesser journalist or producer would have been immediately fired or suspended for a false report.”
Before you break out your pom-poms and start rooting for Brokaw as the champion of truth, however, consider that Brokaw has reportedly known Williams’ story was bunk for years but kept quiet until now, aside from a bit of behind-the-scenes grumbling:

  1. My suspition is that all of the talking heads are guilty of the same thing, As for Brokaw, I am sure he has his own agenda for calling for the firing of Williams, as in the offical reason is not the real reason. One of my issues with him is his "Greatest Generation" myth. I am all for giving credit where credit is due, but if the WW ll generation was THAT great, then how was it that they screwed up so badly by bring behind them the worst generation, the Baby Boomers. I am of that generation, so I stand by that they were the worst, and with them the decline of the USA.
