Obama quietly to veto Keystone pipeline

“The president does intend to veto this pace of legislation, and we intend to do it without drama or fanfare or delay,” he told reporters.

  2. I'm still not seeing where the the pipeline company needs Congress's permission to do this. They buy the land. they hire the workers. They did the environmental impact studies. The EPA doesn't have veto power. Nor does congress have the power to approve this.

    The thing that is lost in this discussion is the fact that this is not a government pipeline or a government jobs program or government loan guarantees or government crony fat cats looting the federal treasury. This is government standing in the way of private enterprise investing their own money.
