A Royal Marine has been revealed as the world’s deadliest sniper after 173 confirmed kills on Taliban targets.

Most of the hits took place during one six-month tour in Afghanistan – with 90 militants taken out in just one day.

At his most deadly, the sniper, who cannot be named for security reasons, was said to have killed a Taliban gunman every ten minutes.

  1. Nether of the snipers are even close to the top 100 deadliest snipers. Nether man even gets on the top 50 deadliest solder list. The only "claim" ether man can make is "deadliest" in this latest round of wars. This has always seemed to be a lot of DC propaganda and Hollywood B.S. anyway. Y'all want "deadly" try Audy Murphy who killed over 100 Germans in ONE DAY with a .50BMG while standing on a burning tank, and is officially credited with killing "over" 400 with his personal weapon. Or Shimo Haya (spell?) who is officially the "deadliest sniper" in all history having killed something over 500 Russians with a 91/30 Mosin Nagant and an SMG. Kyle and this Britt , don't even get to the "200" point where the top count starts.---Ray

Yes, he had an advantage with the number of targets, but was disadvantaged in weaponry compared to today's snipers.

  2. "Deadliest" isn't body count. That's just efficiency. Deadliest would be able to hit the unhittable and nobody even know until the shooter had exfilled. Deadliest is instilling insurmountable fear into the enemy: every round and every corpse a psyop.

  3. Its not a pissing match folks. Any dead enemy is a good one. If one sniper kills one bad guy and saved one good guy, then I think we got our monies worth. If one sniper kills 1000 bad guys, to me he had a lot of oprotunity to see a lot of targets and get to work. Anyways Thanks to All who serve our country. From the guy who puts the mail in the box to the guy that steers the battleship.
