:) Women Are Too Weak to Say No to Sex: Thank goodness California has come to their rescue.

Via Ryan

Some people say that California’s “affirmative consent” law goes too far. But what these archaic misogynists don’t realize is that adult women are just not strong enough to articulate what they want in sexual situations.

A lot of laws say that sexual assault is forcing sex on someone who said no or who is unable to say no. But here’s the problem: We need to realize that women are, in general, not able to say no. It’s too hard.

Oh, and by the way, just one yes isn’t enough.

What a Brave Fight the South Has Made

Canadian political leader John A. McDonald was a lawyer born in Scotland; he believed the American system of government to be “immoral” and “horrid.” He had attended an 1856 American political convention and was shocked at the floor lobbying, revealing that “talent and worth counted for little and low trickery very much.”  Many Confederate agents sent to Canada arrived in that country via blockade runners from Wilmington, to Bermuda and Halifax.

What a Brave Fight the South Has Made

“MacDonald had an enormous feel for statecraft and was an unrivalled leader of men [with] a talent for using the system to his advantage.  When it came to the United States, MacDonald had what American author Robin Winks has described as “a bundle of anti-American prejudices.” It is true that he disliked the American system of government. He saw the electoral process as a popularity contest between candidates and the separation of the executive and legislative branches as inefficient and lacking the checks and balances found in the parliamentary system.

He disliked Lincoln’s suspension of civil rights, including habeas corpus, which allowed for arrest and detention without trial.  He believed the war was a result of the defects in the way Americans had devised their Constitution and wanted to ensure that it did not happen in Canada.

George-Etienne Cartier, MacDonald’s Quebec lieutenant . . . favored Confederation. Like MacDonald, he thought poorly of republican government and felt that if French Canada had to choose between the evils of the English and the Americans, they would choose the English.

He believed in the constant possibility of an American invasion, and saw the Confederacy as a way to distract the Northern States from such a move. If the South were victorious it removed the possibility entirely.

[The Canadian federation framers] believed that the Confederate States had been encouraged in their rebellion by the fatal clause in the American Constitution that provided that all powers not specifically assigned to the federal government were reserved by the States.  This error could be avoided by doing the opposite – investing the federal government with all powers not vested with the provinces.

[Macdonald pushed for Canadian Confederation and told an audience that] they could make a great nation, capable of defending itself, and he reminded them of “the gallant defence that is being made by the Southern Republic – at this moment they have not much more than four millions of men – not much exceeding our own numbers – yet what a brave fight they have made.”

ISIS Launches New Attack On Kobani

Fighters from the Islamic State group launched Saturday a new offensive on the northern Syrian town of Kobani after shelling the area from their positions nearby, activists and a Kurdish official said.

Heavy fighting took place in Kobani Saturday afternoon and many mortar shells were fired into the town. Machinegun fire could be clearly heard from inside the town where black smoke was billowing.

The U.S. Central Command said an airstrike destroyed an IS artillery piece near Kobani. In the afternoon, warplanes of the U.S.-led coalition could be heard flying over Kobani.

Idriss Nassan, a senior official in Kobani, said the fighting concentrated on the southern and eastern edges of the town, also known as Ayn Arab.

"They think they can enter the city and these are just dreams," Nassan told The Associated Press by telephone adding that IS fighters have not been able to take Kobani despite more than a month of attacks.

Franklin Graham: Why haven’t the 3.5 million Muslims in North American rejected this gross, barbaric and despicable behavior by their fellow Muslims

 https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-chOHff3yEKc/U3UJhdIXx1I/AAAAAAAAB28/u5viRB3Iuqo/s1600/5-18-10-islam-allows-no-talk-back.bmp

Franklin Graham, the son of Rev. Billy Graham, the chief of Samaritan’s Purse and an evangelist for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, says President Obama, like President Bush before him, just doesn’t understand Islam.

Graham noted Obama’s recent comments on the conflict in the Middle East, when the president called for a global effort against terrorism.

“In his speech, the president made this baffling comment about Islam: ‘Islam teaches peace. Muslims all over the world aspire to live with dignity and a sense of justice. And when it comes to America and Islam, there is no us and them – there is only us, because millions of Muslim Americans are part of the fabric of our country,’” Graham wrote in a recent commentary for Decision magazine.

But he said that just doesn’t line up with the facts that people see.

Understanding The Middle East Crisis: Rekindling Fundamentalist Islam Part 3 of a Series

http://www.historyofjihad.org/austria7.jpg

Mike Scruggs

Following the defeat of Muslim forces in Austria in 1683, Muslim power declined, and Islam became relatively quiescent. The Armenian genocide of 1894-96 carried out by the Ottoman Turks against Armenian and Greek Christians, however, reminded a horrified Western world that Islam had a cruel, intolerant, and violent side. More than 250,000 Christians were slaughtered or murdered by rampaging Muslim mobs and Turkish soldiers.

An Armenian survivor described the slaughter of refugees at a church in ancient Edessa. After breaking down the door, Turkish troops mockingly called for Christ to prove himself a greater prophet than Allah. Then according to the survivor,

“They began killing everyone on the floor of the church by hand or with pistols. From the altar they gunned down women and children in the gallery. Finally the Turks gathered bedding and straw, on which they poured some thirty cans of kerosene and set the church ablaze.”

In 1915, another outbreak of anti-Christian violence in Turkey took the lives of 1.5 million Christians! A German missionary later reported that 549 villages were laid waste and the surviving inhabitants forcibly converted to Islam.  A total of 21 protestant pastors and 170 Gregorian (Armenian) priests were subjected to unspeakable tortures before being murdered for refusing to denounce their faith and accept Islam.

After the defeat of the Turkish dominated Ottoman Empire by Allied Forces in the First World War, most of the Middle East initially fell under the control of Britain and France. There began a half century of increasing Western secular influence in the Middle East. The commercial and military leadership class became especially secularized. The development of the region’s petroleum resources and the billions of dollars of oil money pouring into Iran, Iraq, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia initially tended to accelerate secularization. Nevertheless, there was a third genocide of Armenian and Greek Christians in Turkey in 1922 and 1923 that claimed one million lives.  Several hundred thousand Christians were eventually able to make it to safety in Britain and the United States, and only about 100,000 remained in Turkey.

In 1923, Turkey broke away from Allied dominance and became became a Republic. Mustafa Kemal “Ataturk” (an honorary title meaning “Father Turk”) became its first president. He abolished the Ottoman Caliphate and its authority over Islam and established a policy of Westward-looking secularism. Ataturk died in office in 1938.

However, following the Second World War, many factors began to accumulate that tended to discredit secularism and Western influences in the Middle East. The vast majority of the people did not profit much from the enormous wealth of oil. Many Muslims also began to look at Western secular values and question the desirability of their influence. Increased literacy in the region worked to encourage greater Muslim interest in the Koran and the teachings of Muhammad. Badly needed democratic reforms often worked to increase the visibility and influence of fundamentalist Muslim clergy and scholars. .

In 1928, the Muslim Brotherhood, advocating a return to early Muslim teachings and Islamist government, was founded by Egyptian schoolteacher Hassan al-Banna. The Brotherhood despised the West and the secularized and westernized leadership of the Egyptian government and frequently made their points by violence. A scholarly writer and minor official in the Egyptian Education Ministry, Sayyid Qutb, joined them following two years of study in the United States from 1948 to 1950. During that time, his observations on what he considered to be decadent American culture turned him into a vociferous anti-American critic. By the time of the military overthrow of the Egyptian government in 1952 and Gamal Abdel Nasser’s rise to power in 1954, Qutb had already published fourteen works on poetry, literature, and political economics. He emerged as a spokesman and the chief intellectual inspiration for the Muslim Brotherhood after writing the first installment of In the Shade of the Koran, in 1954.

Qutb and other Muslim Brotherhood leaders made common cause with Nasser’s nationalist movement at first but became frustrated with Nasser’s secular philosophy and refusal to establish an Islamist government. Following an assassination attempt by Muslim Brotherhood activists on Nasser in 1954, Qutb was imprisoned until 1964.  It was there, based on his interpretation of the Koran, that Qutb developed a modern application of Jihad including a terrorist strategy to implement Pan-Islamic government according to Islamic Law (Sharia). Continued assassination attempts on Egyptian officials following Qutb’s release from prison and the 1964 publication of his most influential book, Milestones, advocating and outlining an aggressive strategy for implementing terrorist Jihad against secular governments, resulted in his re-arrest the same year. He was executed by the Nasser government in 1966.

The Muslim Brotherhood has become one of the most influential advocates of Islamic government and Jihad in the Sunni Muslim world, and the writings of Sayyid Qutb have become a major source of Jihadist and terrorist inspiration. Among Qutb’s many disciples was the Saudi Arabian mega-terrorist, Osama bin Laden.

Many factors have contributed to the resurgence of Islamic fundamentalism and its militant ideology of Jihad besides the Muslim Brotherhood and the inspiration of Sayyid Qutb. The establishment of the State of Israel in 1948 became a major cause of Muslim resentment against the West. This was exacerbated by Israel’s humiliating defeat of three Arab armies in 1967. The Muslim Brotherhood is also compatible with the fundamentalist beliefs of the oil-rich Saudi Arabian Wahhabi sect of Islam. The Iranian Revolution of 1979 provided a major triumph of Islamic government over its secularized, pro-Western predecessor. The 1979 to 1989 conflict between the Soviet Union and Afghanistan attracted thousands of highly motivated Muslim volunteers to the cause of Jihad against the West. These veterans form a well trained and indoctrinated manpower resource for terrorism and Jihadist causes.  Muslim emigration (a form of Jihad) has created an immense fifth column of potential Jihadists in Western countries. All these factors were “milestones” leading toward 9-11 and the alarming rise of Islamist terrorism around the world.

Mussolini air raid shelter opens to tourists

Via commander_zero

A Roman villa's wine cellar, which was converted into an air raid shelter for Benito Mussolini and the Italian dictator's family, is opening its anti-gas, double steel doors to tourists.

The shelter was quickly constructed in 1940, after the outbreak of World War II, in what had once been the wine cellar of a noble family who lived there before Mussolini took up residence during his Fascist rule.

Epic Sperm Whale Hunt Captured On Camera

This video from BBC Earth is just a three minute clip of an eight hour battle that took place to get this whale to shore. Indonesian fishermen risk their lives to capture this massive creature, but the rewards are great. A successful whale hunt will feed the entire village for months, and by only taking a handful of whales a year, these villagers are not posing a threat to the existing whale population.

They are simply fishing for survival.

WaPo Publishes Scientific Evidence of Voter Fraud on a Massive Scale

Via avordvet

What you are about to read should be front-page news in every newspaper in the country tomorrow.

You know it won’t be — but I want you to treat it as that important . . . because it is. Jesse Richman and David Earnest write in the Washington Post:
Could control of the Senate in 2014 be decided by illegal votes cast by non-citizens?
Some argue that incidents of voting by non-citizens are so rare as to be inconsequential, with efforts to block fraud a screen for an agenda to prevent poor and minority voters from exercising the franchise, while others define such incidents as a threat to democracy itself. Both sides depend more heavily on anecdotes than data.
In a forthcoming article in the journal Electoral Studies, we bring real data from big social science survey datasets to bear on the question of whether, to what extent, and for whom non-citizens vote in U.S. elections. Most non-citizens do not register, let alone vote. But enough do that their participation can change the outcome of close races.
Our data comes from the Cooperative Congressional Election Study (CCES). Its large number of observations (32,800 in 2008 and 55,400 in 2010) provide sufficient samples of the non-immigrant sub-population, with 339 non-citizen respondents in 2008 and 489 in 2010. For the 2008 CCES, we also attempted to match respondents to voter files so that we could verify whether they actually voted.
How many non-citizens participate in U.S. elections? More than 14 percent of non-citizens in both the 2008 and 2010 samples indicated that they were registered to vote. Furthermore, some of these non-citizens voted. Our best guess, based upon extrapolations from the portion of the sample with a verified vote, is that 6.4 percent of non-citizens voted in 2008 and 2.2 percent of non-citizens voted in 2010.
This is astonishing — but Richman and Earnest fail to convey just how astonishing it is . . . because they don’t explain how many people they are talking about.

Allow me to remedy that.

Valerie Jarrett Helped Manage Holder's lies to Congress about Fast & Furious

For years the White House has argued it had nothing to do with Operation Fast and Furious while it was active and certainly wasn't involved the fallout and cover-up that followed after Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was killed in 2010 by Mexican bandits carrying guns from the lethal program.

Now years later, a Vaughn Index describing Fast and Furious documents being held from the American people and Congress under President Obama's assertion of executive privilege shows White House Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett played a key role in Attorney General Eric Holder's changing testimony to Congress.

3 deputies, motorist shot in California – 2 dead: Manhunt ends with capture of 'Hispanic male' who carjacked vehicles

An extensive manhunt in California for a “Hispanic” man who gunned down three sheriff’s deputies and a motorist and attempted a pair of carjackings in his getaway concluded Friday afternoon in the city of Auburn after a nearly six-hour search.

According to Placer County sheriff spokesperson Dena Erwin, the suspect, identified as Marcelo Marquez, 34, was captured hiding in an Auburn residence. He was not shot.

One of the shooting victims, Deputy Danny Oliver, 47, died at a Sacramento hospital from head wounds.

Sacramento County Sheriff’s Sgt. Lisa Bowman told Sacramento’s KXTV that Oliver, the first of the deputies, initially responded to a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of a Motel 6 in Sacramento around 10 a.m., when someone inside the vehicle opened fire.

The Left and the Distortion of History v King Alfred

King Alfred Statue

In the fall of 1991, the relatively small and quiet university of Alfred University in New York State was engrossed in controversy. Indignant professors led students in protests, heated debates raged throughout the divided campus, editorials filled the school and local papers. At the heart of the controversy was the newly-installed statue of King Alfred, the medieval English monarch after whom the town and school was named. Ten years prior, when the monument was commissioned, no one could foresee the controversy it would eventually cause. Yet, its placement offended the sensibilities of the university's history professors.

By the strong and negative reaction one would think that Alfred must have been a tyrant, an oppressor of his people, a man deserving of the title Alfred the Terrible.  Surprisingly, it is the opposite that that is true.

From 871 to 899, Alfred was the King of Wessex, one of the four kingdoms that would eventually become England.  During his reign he revived the tradition of learning that had died with the fall of the Roman Empire.  He required all of his nobles be literate and increased their education by translating the great Latin texts into English.  Additionally, he has the honor of being the first king in English history to write a book, preceding King James by eight centuries. Thus, he is known as the "education king."

NYC Police Say Hatchet Attack by Islam Convert Was Terrorism

Image: NYC Police Say Hatchet Attack by Islam Convert Was Terrorism

The hatchet-wielding man who wounded two New York City police officers, one of them critically, was a self-radicalized convert to Islam who is believed to have acted alone in what law enforcement officials on Friday called a terrorist attack.

The suspect, Zale Thompson, who was shot dead by two other officers on Thursday afternoon on a street in the borough of Queens, had made anti-Western postings on social media and visited websites associated with several radical Islamic groups, police said at a news conference.

A search of computers seized from the home of Thompson's father in Queens, where the 32-year-old man lived, showed he also spent time reading online about beheadings, a recent intrusion at the White House and attacks in Canada.

"This was a terrorist attack," Commissioner William Bratton said.

Investigators were trying to determine whether Thompson, a black man who converted to Islam two years ago, had any connection to an area mosque. Police said the social media postings of the man described as an unemployed recluse were "anti-government, anti-Western, anti-white."
