"I WANT THE GOVERNMENT THAT I WAS TAUGHT ABOUT IN HIGH SCHOOL!"

Not the one we have now. I want the limited government which plays by the rules that are spelled out in the Constitution. Not the slapdash-lackadaisical sorta law-abiding half-assed Congress and Executive branch that we now have. I want Congressmen with guts enough to stand up and say STOP!....and NO!!! And those who will limit the excesses of our government agencies....And make sure that if we pass laws they are enforced.

I WANT THE CONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNMENT that I was taught about in school...... I want the COUNTRY I was taught about in school. I want to know what the hell happened to it.

I want a country that works as well as the one I grew up in in the 70's. Where people worked and were able to find work. Where help was there if you really needed it, but not as many people were needing or willing to take it. Where the incentive was to find a job.

And I am willing to try to get it back with the Soapbox, and the Ballot box and yes, if necessary (although I sincerely hope it isn't), the other box.

Great!: Sriracha Creator Talks About Moving, Invites Texas Politician For Tour

Via Daily Timewaster

srirachaa.jpg

When we heard Texas politicians making overtures toward the embattled Sriracha factory, we initially brushed them aside. This just sounded like Texas' way of making a point that California is more in love with its red tape than its red rooster sauce. Huy Fong Foods would never leave the Golden State where its chilies come from, right?

But it looks like the company is seriously consider some of those overtures. Today Vietnamese refugee David Tran invited a Texas lawmaker to check out the factory, according to the Pasadena Star-News. Tran wrote to Texas state Rep. Jason Villalba, R-Dallas:

“(I) would first like to cordially invite you to come visit (the) facility in Irwindale so you can observe firsthand our operations as well as to assess whether there is any potential issues that may affect your residences before the company considers moving to Texas."

It not just about Texas. Tran has gotten invites from all over the country: Alabama, Philadelphia, Louisiana, Kansas, Ohio, Georgia, Iowa, Arizona, New Mexico, West Virginia and Washington have all opened their arms to the trademark hot sauce.

$PLC Launches Hysterical Attack on Critics of UN Agenda 21

Via avordvet

 http://www.veteranstoday.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Dees_cash.jpg

The self-styled “civil rights” organization Southern Poverty Law Center, which despite mounting controversy maintains some links to government agencies, released a bizarre and factually challenged screed attacking critics and opponents of the deeply controversial United Nations plot known as Agenda 21. Apparently unfamiliar with the definition of basic words such as “conspiracy” and “theory,” or with the UN plan itself, the SPLC also lashed out at “activist groups,” “mainstream politicians,” voters, “extremists,” and others who question or oppose the UN agenda for what it calls “sustainable development” in the United States.

In mid-April, the largely discredited group released a “Special Report” entitled “Agenda 21: The UN, Sustainability and Right-Wing Conspiracy Theory.” The document tries to link opposition to the international “sustainable-development” schemes to the so-called “right-wing.” However, even in Alabama, where the SPLC is based, that discredited talking point has been exposed as ridiculous. Consider, for example, the fact that every single member of the state legislature, including all Democrats, voted in 2012 for a law to protect private property by officially banning UN Agenda 21.

“Agenda 21, a nonbinding United Nations global sustainability plan signed by the United States more than 20 years ago, is being used by extremists and mainstream politicians to stoke fears and stifle rational policymaking across the country,” the SPLC claimed in a summary of its “Special Report” posted online. Of course, the scheme was not “signed by the United States,” much less ratified by the U.S. Senate as required; it was merely signed by then-President George H.W. Bush. However, the UN plan is nevertheless being quietly foisted on Americans by all levels of government under a variety of innocent-sounding names. By “rational policymaking,” meanwhile, the SPLC presumably means the adoption of policies that the leftist fringe group supports.

Global Warming records keep piling up
No global warming for over 17 years
Global sea ice area is near an all-time record high for mid-April
Great Lakes ice cover is the highest on record for mid-April
Antarctic sea ice area is the highest on record for mid-April
Arctic multi-year ice way up over the last three years
Record low tornado activity in the US since the start of 2012
Near record low hurricane activity in the US over the past five years
No major hurricanes in the US for almost nine years – a record
No hurricanes in Florida for almost nine years – a record
Last year was the quietest Atlantic hurricane season in decades
Coldest four months on record in much of the midwest

Institutional Global Warming fraud - We have created—and institutionalized—incentives for fraud and penalties for honesty and candor. Not just for men of science; for virtually every trade and walk of life. For many men, the touchstone of ethical judgment is no longer "Is it right?" It's "Can I get away with it?" We have destroyed the bedrock of freedom: our ability to trust.
Francis Porretto at bastionofliberty.blogspot.com

Global anything-it-pleases - Herein is the problem for climate scientists. There is no "normal" temperature for Earth. What is normal is for the temperature, over hundreds of thousands and in some cases millions of years, to vary greatly. The cycle of periods of extreme warmth and cold, and everything in between, is what is normal... Climate-predicting computer models are man-made, and their outcomes are self-serving for the men who designed them, while actual changes to the climate are the result of natural, cyclical forces, far beyond the control of man.

art-link-symbol-small-rev01.jpg Boston Bombing and the Keystone Kops
"There should have been protocols in place that night and the analogy is a fire. Firefighters and firetrucks are not going to just show up and start spraying each other," says criminologist Geoff Alpert. That's what happened in the Boston Bombing, cops shot anything that moved, including each other, say Schone, Blankstein and Winter in this investigative report, Too Many Guns: How Shootout With Bombing Suspects Spiraled into Chaos, at NBC News. Some excerpts:

The suspects ended up at the center of a ring of cops on Laurel Street between Dexter and School streets during the 20-minute firefight, and the bullets that were fired at them often hit near the officers on the other side... on Laurel Street, rounds flew into parked cars and police vehicles and chewed up fences and trees... More than a dozen officers suffered minor injuries during the mayhem, but none was believed to have been wounded by the suspects... After a mistaken police radio report that Tsarnaev had stolen a state police SUV, however, multiple rounds were fired at a state police vehicle that was leaving the scene.

The liberty movement does not care what the Federal government deems “legal” or “illegal.” Our only interest is what is Constitutional and what is moral. The dispute was never about the “legality” of Bundy’s use of the land ... Statists and bureaucrats like Reid continually attempt to argue this issue from the standpoint of Federal legality, obviously because the Federal government has the legislative and bureaucratic power to make any despicable action legal if it wishes. However, the liberty movement has no interest whatsoever in Federal interpretations of legal precedence. We are only concerned with what is right.
Brandon Smith at alt-market.com

The BLM has sort of backed down, but in all this you have to ask a few questions: Why does the BLM have guys with rifles and mechanized infantry? The whole militarization of the federal government is disturbing. These guys don't swear allegiance to the US Constitution, they don't come from a culture of patriotism like most military volunteers do. They aren't barred by US law from being active on American soil. Its like an end run around the military by the executive department, who apparently wants its own private army it can use against Americans.

Income tax - When the Sixteenth Amendment was being debated on the floor of the Senate, one of its opponents rose to ask the body what it could say to reassure the American public that this tax would not rise to seize some unconscionable fraction of their earnings—perhaps as much as ten percent! A pro-income-tax senator rose and replied that the country need never fear such a development: "The people would never allow it!"

GM is terminal - And now, the fallout. GM is not going to survive it. Because the company has become a joke. The Government Motors thing stuck in a lot of people’s craws – rightly so. But at least the cars were getting pretty good again, right? ... It is not a stretch to state that probably millions of people now believe that GM is capable of almost any form of skullduggery. Such people will never buy a GM car – no matter how rave the reviews... when people associate you – or your brand – with serial and deliberate assholeness, it’s a bridge burned that can’t be rebuilt... GM itself is terminal. There’s no coming back from this one.

Ukraine and CIA - The CIA director was sent to Kiev to launch a military suppression of the Russian separatists in the eastern and southern portions of Ukraine, former Russian territories for the most part that were foolishly attached to the Ukraine in the early years of Soviet rule... In my opinion, Washington does not want the Ukraine matters settled in a diplomatic and reasonable way.

CONSTRUCTION has been completed of Zimbabwe president Robert Mugabe’s controversial £5 million mansion in Harare’s leafy northern suburbs.

The 25-bedroom private house, built by a Serbian construction company Energoproject to a Chinese architectural design, has two lakes in its 44 acre landscaped grounds and is protected by a multi-million pounds radar system.

Approach roads to the mansion, topped by a Chinese-style roof clad in midnight blue tiles from Shanghai, are off limits to the general public.

My son Daniel did a combat tour of Fallujah in 2007, but his other deployment with the Marine Corps was a MEU to the Gulf of Aden and Persian Gulf (which both he and I think is a horrible way to throw away money if we’re never going to use the Marine Corps for anything on these MEUs except for humanitarian missions – but that’s another topic).

As the pre-deployment workup for this MEU, the Battalion underwent extensive training in evidence collection protocol and procedures.  At the time I dismissed this as an aberration and thought no more of it.  Then the Washington Post recently had this article, and it made me think again.

Ford hit a Grand Slam home run with its homage to the original supercar, the legendary Le Mans winning GT40. Built in 2005 and 2006, the new GT incorporates many new and unique technologies, including an aluminum space-frame chassis with aluminum body panels and an aluminum-over-carbon engine cover.

Using the same mid-engine configuration as the original GT40, the GT is powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter V-8 thrusting 550 horsepower and 500 lb.-ft. of torque through a specially built Ricardo 6-speed manual transaxle. The result is astounding performance: the GT produces exhilarating zero-to-60 times of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 205 MPH.

Savage 110 BA 338 Lapua: 1.43 Mile Shot

Via Guns Save Lives

A few days ago I took out the Savage 110 BA 338 Lapua and attempted the 2500 yard shot. So I placed the target at 2530 yards or 1.43 miles away, at that distance the bullet flight time is almost 4.5 seconds! Made a short video that I think you guys will enjoy. Thanks for watching!

I went out early in the morning to beat the mirage, luckly there was very little wind around 3-4 mph coming from the left, I dialed 2.6 mils Left. I had to dialed the maximum elevation my scope (Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56 MIL/MIL) had at 27.4 mils then held over 2.5 mils on the reticle to get me to 29.9 mils. The 300 gr Berger bullets with a MV of 2740 fps at 23.34 inHg start to go subsonic at 2400 yards, so I figured some weird stuff might happen. My first shot was pretty even height wise but was way off to the right, the first 3 shots were sighters to get me on target and then on my 9th shot I hit the target, then had one more hit on my 12th shot. So total of 2 out of 12 shots at 2530 yards.

When I got to the target to my surprise was a sideways hit. My first thought was that it hit the ground and bounced up sideways, but after reviewing the video I can tell it was a direct hit because the bullet splash in the dirt is directed away from the steel and the impact energy on the steel was the same for both hits, I'm sure if it hit the ground first it would have lost most of it's energy. So now I ask has anyone ever seen a 300 gr berger bullet hit sideways??!! Probably due to the sonic wave passing the bullet at 2400 yards, very interesting. The next day I went out to find a couple missed shot bullets and after metal detecting for almost an hour ready to give up I found one!

This was my first time shooting past 2060 yards and 2 out of 12 isn't real great but satisfying, I bet with practice I could get those numbers looking a little better. I really hope you guys enjoy the video, please comment or ask any questions you may have.......and let me know what you think!

Literally, knocking the cover off the ball

Californians 50 to 64 who live in their parents' homes has surged in recent years

More Californians move in with parents

Debbie Rohr lives with her husband and twin teenage sons in a well-tended three-bedroom home in Salinas.

The ranch-style house has a spacious kitchen that looks out on a yard filled with rosebushes. It's a modest but comfortable house, the type that Rohr, 52, pictured for herself at this stage of life.

She just never imagined that it would be her childhood home, a return to a bedroom where she once hung posters of Olivia Newton-John and curled up with her beloved Mrs. Beasley doll.

Driven by economic necessity — Rohr has been chronically unemployed and her husband lost his job last year — she moved her family back home with her 77-year-old mother.

At a time when the still sluggish economy has sent a flood of jobless young adults back home, older people are quietly moving in with their parents at twice the rate of their younger counterparts.

Prosecutor’s Targeting of Gun Range Exec Enters 15th Year

It has been three and a half years since I first covered the case of a Washington State prosecutor targeting Kitsap Rifle & Revolver Club (KRRC) Executive Officer Marcus Carter. Unbelievably, Kitsap County Prosecuting Attorney Russ Hauge, a Democrat, has still not stopped his witch hunt, even though his waste of millions of dollars of taxpayers’ money for almost 15 years has resulted in no convictions against Carter. As someone who has been targeted for years by zealous, well-connected prosecutors because of my conservative political views, I have taken a keen interest in this case.

The thing that needs to be said in respect of the rebellion that has gathered at the ranch of Cliven Bundy is that it is as American as apple pie. At the rate things are going the Nevada ranchers are going to write themselves into American history right alongside Daniel Shays and the Pennsylvania backwoodsmen who confronted the federal government over taxes on whiskey. The echoes are uncanny — complete with the sanctimonious lectures from the federal government over the law and the righteousness of the anger of the rebels.

Elderly Man Calls Ambulance for Wife with Dementia, Cops Show Up and Beat Him

Via WiscoDave

copsthennow

It seems more and more these days that if you think a loved one is in danger in America, calling the cops should be your absolute last possible resort.

Missourian Elbert Breshears recently called for an ambulance because his elderly wife, who suffers dementia, had endured an episode and knocked a window out of their home.

According to ABC affiliate KSPR33 and unfortunately for Breshears, the cops showed up before the ambulance did:

“The wife and I were standing about here, that’s the window she knocked out. I was standing here holding her hand and she was wavering hollering help,” Breshears said.
