Gun Confiscation: Organized, Sanctioned Terrorism

https://lh3.ggpht.com/-oCiT_FJOaCI/Ug4k0UWpNjI/AAAAAAAAHAk/Q37CsddhVWk/s1600/terrorists.jpg

The State of Connecticut is writing checks its police forces cannot cash. The backlash from Officer Joe Peterson's tirade against a gun owner, culminating in his statement that he couldn't wait to get the order to kick in John Cinque's door (because Cinque openly refuses to obey the ban) grew to such proportions that the police chief sat down with John Cinque to see how to diffuse the threats coming into the Branford Police Department, not just Joe Peterson, either.

While I strongly disagree with Cinque's proposal to quiet the storm, it shows that when the people decide that the government is out of line, their resistance will bring even the typically arrogant police department to a point of desperation. It is instructive.

Patriot lawsuit demands money from IRS

Just imagine sending to the Internal Revenue Service a bill for:

Actual damages for violating the Privacy Act.

The costs of complying with additional demands for information about an application.

Loss of donors.

Loss of membership fees.

Damages for the violation of constitutional rights.

Damages for loss of the benefit of tax-exempt status.

Damages for impairment of constitutionally protected rights.

Punitive damages.

Litigation costs.

Attorneys’ fees.

And more.

A case of that kind has been filed, with a request to make it class action. A key proponent explained Friday to WND that the ultimate goal is to uncover what former IRS official Lois Lerner wanted to do and did.

Al-Qaeda Calls for Car Bomb Attacks on American Cities, Targets Abroad

Via Billy

The latest issue of Al-Qaeda's Inspire magazine contains an article about using car bombs in U.S. cities as well as abroad during election seasons, both presidential and congressional, as well as on Christmas and New Years Eve.

The cities and areas listed in the piece include Washington, D.C., New York, Northern Virginia, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

America is our first target, followed by United Kingdom, France and other crusader countries.

As for the field target for the car-bomb, you have places flooded with individuals, e.g. sports events in which tens of thousands attend, election campaigns, festivals and other gathering. The important thing is that you target people and not buildings:

How fierce, bitter winds ended Jeff King's Iditarod

As Jeff King moved toward the finish of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race race Monday, the only thing standing between the four-time champion and a record-tying fifth win was the brutality of Mother Nature.

He left the White Mountain checkpoint less than 100 miles from the end, confident of victory, and then disaster struck.

Ron Paul: Change in Ukraine US-backed coup; slams US on Crimea crisis & says Russia sanctions are 'an act of war'

 Ron Paul

Views are opposite to those of son, Senator Rand Paul

(No back bone like his father, cause he gonna' run for President.  Pathetic.)

*****************************

The former Republican congressman and three-time presidential candidate Ron Paul has launched a scathing attack on what he calls a US-backed coup in Ukraine, insisting the Crimean people have the right to align their territory with Moscow and characterising sanctions against Russia as “an act of war”. (Just like the Tyrant's blockade.)

He also said providing economic aid to Ukraine was comparable to giving support to rebels in Syria knowing it would end up in the hands of al-Qaida.

A Southern Saint Patrick’s Day Remembrance

 Via Billy

"Well, Govan, if we must die, let us die like men."
Gen. Patrick R. Cleburne

You don’t have to be Irish to wear the green on Saint Patrick’s Day!

He was nicknamed “Stonewall Jackson of the West” during America’s War Between the States.

Monday March 17, 2014 is Saint Patrick’s Day and it’s also the 186th birthday of one of Ireland’s sons Patrick Ronayne Cleburne.

A statue of Cleburne was unveiled in the year of our Lord 2009 at Confederate Park in Ringgold, Georgia and a life-size bronze statue of General Patrick R. Cleburne was unveiled in 2012 at the Helena Museum of Phillips County, Arkansas. The Patrick R. Cleburne Confederate cemetery in Jonesboro, Georgia is also named for him.

Senator Attempts to Disarm Sheriffs at Oklahoma State Capitol

“One of the senators, who they wouldn’t tell us, complained because we were armed in the building”

Over 40 Sheriffs walked out of the Oklahoma State Capitol this week after an unknown senator demanded they remove their firearms.

After entering the capitol for an annual meet and greet with legislators, the state’s sheriffs were confronted and given an ultimatum, disarm or leave the building.

“One of the senators, who they wouldn’t tell us, complained because we were armed in the building,” Wagoner county sheriff Bob Colbert told KTUL News.

According to Colbert, the senator not only refused to identify, but also ordered others in the capitol to relay the message.

“Everybody in that building knew who we were,” Colbert said.

After being given their options, all 40 sheriffs refused to comply with the senator’s demand and walked out of the building, firearms holstered.

“So we all packed up and left,” Colbert said. “Pretty sad day for me.”

Putin Moves in on Ukraine

Russia-Ukraine: The Russian defense ministry confirmed that it had ordered new military exercises in the regions of Belgorod and Kursk, which are near the border of eastern Ukraine. The exercises are to continue until the end of March.

"The main aim... is a multi-faceted check of the units' cohesiveness followed by the performance of battle training assignments in unfamiliar terrain and untested firing ranges," the defense ministry said..

Belarus: The government in Minsk confirmed that it requested Russia to deploy extra fighter jets and military transport aircraft to Belarus. The request was in reaction to US/NATO reinforcement of Poland. Russia sent six Su-27 fighters and three transport aircraft.

Comment: The new exercises look like a cover for real preparations for an incursion. The Russian announcement stated that a limited number of men plus artillery and rocket launchers were involved in the exercises. However, local bloggers have posted to the web images of at least a battalion of Russian tanks unloading from rail cars, which the Russiansneglected to mention.

Russia apparently has not made the final decision to occupy additional portions of eastern Ukraine, but President Putin soon will have that option readily available.

Ukraine: A Ukrainian news outlet posted a report on 13 March that three people were killed during clashes between pro-Russian and pro-Ukrainian groups on Thursday evening in Donetsk, in eastern Ukraine. The leader of the right-wing, anti-Russian Svoboda party in Donetsk called for an investigation into police inaction and called for local police chiefs to be fired.

Comment: Such clashes strenghten the Russian case for intervention.

Malaysia Prime Minister: 'Deliberate Action' Caused Jet to Disappear

 No surprise, that's for sure.

Investigators searched the home of the pilot of the missing Malaysia Airlines jet Saturday as the probe focused on possible sabotage.

Officials now believe someone on board deliberately shut off its communications and tracking systems, turned the plane around, and flew for nearly seven hours after it vanished from radar, Malaysia Prime Minister Najib Razak said Saturday.

"These movements are consistent with deliberate action by someone on the plane," Razak said.

A Malaysian official, who was not named because he was not authorized to brief the press, went further, telling The Associated Press that hijacking was no longer a theory. "

"It is conclusive," the official said.

North Carolina $2.0 Billion per year fiscal costs for illegal immigration

 http://www.fairus.org/images/publication_cover/NC_costs_cover.jpg

FAIR Executive summary of estimated annual NET fiscal costs of illegal immigration in North Carolina.

With 410,000 illegal immigrants, 4.3 percent of the population, North Carolina ranks 11th among the states.

The NET costs are estimated at $2.0 Billion annually or $578 annually for each NC native or naturalized citizen household.

In 2013, the North Carolina General Assembly passed an "immigration enforcement" bill that actually weakened immigration enforcement. This bill, HB786, was essentially a special interest bill for agriculture, restaurants, hotels, and construction associations. Both the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce and the North Carolina Farm Bureau lobbied heavily for its passage. It was vetoed by Governor McCrory, but his veto was overridden by the General Assembly. The principal fault of the bill was that it widened the gap of non-enforcement of the State's E-Verify law, which requires employers to check the immigration status of job applicants.

The bill's principal sponsors in the NC House, who I am sad to say are Republicans, actually proposed that illegal immigrants be issued NC driving permits to help them get to and from jobs. This outrageous provision was fortunately defeated.

Most of the $2.0 billion annual cost of illegal immigration in NC actually impacts at the county level. It disproportionately impacts counties with high numbers of agricultural workers.

The $2.0 estimate includes $1.3 billion for education of the children of illegal immigrants, including the cost of dual-language instruction for some. Healthcare for illegals costs $232 million per year, public assistance $79 million, and law enforcement and justice $216 million per year. Illegals only pay $228 million in taxes per year, most of which are sales taxes. They pay less than $14 million per year in income taxes. They are cheap labor for employers, but a sizable fiscal burden on taxpayers

Their fiscal costs are by no means the only costs. The economic cost to North Carolina workers are considerable. The cheap labor of illegal and imported workers displaces and drives down the wages of North Carolina workers. Judging from national figures compiled by Harvard economist George Borjas, the economic costs of illegal immigration to American workers exceeds the fiscal costs.

Unfortunately, most North Carolina voters have not noticed that they are paying a huge burden in taxes, unemployment, and lower wages for the benefit of special interests.

In addition to the dollar measurement of illegal immigration costs, there are some costs that are extremely different to measure, but are nonetheless very important.
North Carolina is spending $216 Million per year on justice and law enforcement to maintain 410,000 illegal immigrants, but that does not measure the cost of crime to its victims. An independent organization called NCFire.com at least tries to track the more serious crimes.

Cape Town, South Africa: Black ANC Councillors Trash City Hall, Dance with Mock AK47s

Via Nancy

In yet another example of South Africa’s pitiful slide into Third World chaos, a recent Cape Town city council meeting meant to discuss that metropolis’s annual budget dissolved into chaos as African National Congress (ANC) councillors trashed the chamber while dancing, singing, and waving mock AK47s.

The ANC “protest” as they called it, was held in the council chamber of the only city of the country not controlled by South Africa’s ruling party.

In expressing their objection to the new budget—which dares to asks “consumers” to start actually paying for services such as electricity and other utilities (instead of making the—largely white—taxpayers of the city continue to pay for everything), the ANC councillors chanted slogans, banged on desks, dumped documents on the floor of the city council chamber, and then began dancing the “toyi-toyi” dance.
