Anglo-Saxon hoard: 4,000 pieces of stunning handcrafted treasure hint Beowolf's description of 'golden warriors' is true

Via LH

Reunited: All 4,000 pieces of the Staffordshire Hoard have been brought back together for the first time, allowing experts (pictured) to shed some light on life in the dark ages. They believe the artefacts, which range from fragments of helmet to gold sword decorations, are a ¿true archaeological mirror¿ to the great Anglo-Saxon poem Beowulf

An incredible hoard of precious Anglo-Saxon gold items, the likes of which professional archaeologists dream of finding, was discovered buried in a field by a jobless treasure hunter five years ago.

And now all 4,000 pieces of the Staffordshire Hoard have been brought back together for the first time, allowing experts to shed some light on life in the Dark Ages.

They believe the precious artefacts, which range from fragments of helmet to gold sword decorations engraved with animals and encrusted with jewels, are a ‘true archaeological mirror’ to the great Anglo-Saxon poem Beowulf.

A hunter in North Carolina has solved has food bill for the next year after tracking and killing a mammoth wild boar weighing in at over 500 pounds.

Veteran hunter Jett Webb, of Conetoe, bagged the beast last month using his .308 caliber rifle after baiting the animal for over a month.

'It was very surreal,' Webb told WSPA. 'It was a shock. It was very humbling to say the least, when you walk up on a beast that big and you say, "Oh my gosh. I had no idea that there could be something that big running around the woods of Eastern North Carolina.'"

Lindsey Graham Only Likes Gov’t Spying When It’s Not Used on Him

Via Ryan

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) is very upset about government surveillance. Yes, that Lindsey Graham. Wait, what? Here’s the catch, because you knew there had to be one: He’s only upset about government surveillance techniques when they are allegedly utilized on his own staffers.

In response to accusations that the Central Intelligence Agency has snooped on Senate computers, Graham went bonkers, telling reporters on Tuesday that “Heads should roll, people should go to jail if it’s true.”

And in typical Lindsey Graham fashion, he found a new kind of war he can get down with: “If it is, the legislative branch should declare war on the CIA.”

“This is Richard Nixon stuff,” he added. “This is dangerous to the democracy.”

Graham’s comments come in addition to his Senate colleagues John McCain (R-AZ) and Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), both ardent defenders of current surveillance operations who somehow find it appalling the government would dare spy on them.

"Islam is is an Aztec-like religion of the pagan world, riddled with human sacrifice, cannibalism, and a pool of human gore”

EXTREME CAUTION ADVISED: The videos linked and embedded at the end of the story are extremely graphic, showing brutal executions.

Newly released videos show Muslims conducting “ritual human sacrifices” by slitting the throats of their victims or putting a bullet in their heads, according to researcher Walid Shoebat, a former member of the Palestine Liberation Organization who converted to Christianity.

Shoebat’s report includes several videos of ritual sacrifices. He noted the speaker in one video uses the term Qurban just before gunfire erupts and men lined up in a row fall to the floor one by one. Shoebat explained that the Arabic term “can only signify a sacrifice, which indicates that the filmed slaughter is nothing but a ritual human sacrifice.”

Another video shows the throat of the “sacrifice” being slit with a knife.

Bill to Register all Firearms in Illinois Introduced

Via LH

http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj23/Beachbumcook/GunFreeZoneSignCompanyisLiable.jpg

Another anti-gun bill mandating (this time) the registration of every firearm in the state of Illinois (plus permission slips to purchase ammunition) was introduced last month by self-proclaimed LGBT activist and progressive Democrat Kelly Cassidy. Representing state district 14, Cassidy’s bill is called simply: “Firearms Registration Act.” Cassidy’s goal is simple: She wants the Illinois State Police to know where every firearm in the state is, what its registration number is, who owns it, and where they live. From her bill:

NC: General Robert F. Hoke at Duplin Roads, March 1865: A Living History

In observance of North Carolina’s War Between the States Sesquicentennial:

“General Robert F. Hoke at Duplin Roads, March 1865:  A Living History”

Tuesday, 25 March 2014, 6:30PM, Wallace Women’s Club, 216 NE Railroad Street, Wallace, NC (Admission free)

(A midday performance will be held for history students at Wallace-Rose Hill High School)

After his fighting withdrawal from Wilmington on 22 February 1865, General Robert F. Hoke’s veteran 4,500-man division entrenched on the north bank of Rockfish Creek, just below the town of Duplin Roads, present-day Wallace.  There his force resupplyed and remained until 5 March when he was ordered to Kinston to oppose an enemy advance toward the railroad  center at Goldsboro from New Bern.  Duplin merchant and planter Gabriel Boney visits Hoke just before his departure.

Experience this unique conversation between General Hoke and Gabriel Boney as the latter enquires of the campaign to date from Hoke’s arrival at Fort Fisher in late December when enemy attack threatened, through the Fort Anderson and Forks Roads battles, and culminating with the retreat through Wilmington, encampment at Rockfish Creek, and Hoke’s exchange of nearly 10,000 Northern prisoners in his hands.  Hoke and Boney will be visited by Mrs. Eliza Nutt Parsley of Wilmington who is refugeeing in Robeson County and relates the plight of women and children on the homefront.  She pleads with Hoke for food, medicine and protection from invading enemy soldiers.  Plan to be with us to experience this North Carolina “living history.”

Gen. Robert F. Hoke of North Carolina is portrayed by veteran living history reenactor Wayne Newnam of Beaufort; Mr. Gabriel Boney is depicted by Bernhard Thuersam of Wilmington (below), Chairman of the North Carolina War Between the States Sesquicentennial Commission. Kelly Atkins Hinson of Jackson Springs (below) portrays Mrs. Eliza Nutt Parsley of Wilmington. Kelly has appeared often in the character of Anna Morrison Jackson of Charlotte, grieving widow of Gen. Stonewall Jackson.

This living history program is jointly presented by the Cape Fear Historical Institute and the North Carolina War Between the States Sesquicentennial Commission.

A professor of feminist studies who specializes in teaching pornography, queer theory and black film is accused of going berserk at a California pro-life demonstration last week, stealing and destroying an anti-abortion sign and assaulting a teen girl who tried to retrieve it.

Police are now investigating the events involving Mireille Miller-Young, who teaches at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

According to the Santa Barbara Independent which first broke the story, Miller-Young came across the pro-life display sponsored by the Christian pro-life group Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust on March 4.

Thirteen members of the group had posted banners and literature which displayed graphic imagery of late-term abortions designed to spark conversations with passing students.

Joan Short, a 21-year-old student at Thomas Aquinas College and a member of the pro-life group, told the paper Miller-Young exchanged heated words, complained about the anti-abortion message, and led the gathering crowd into a chant of “Tear down the sign! Tear down the sign!” before grabbing a banner and walking with it across campus.

Threats to CT Police Escalate Following CT Cop’s Gun Confiscation Comments – Cops Ask Pro-Gun Veteran to Help Cool Things Down

http://madworldnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/1604510_582055445223965_185373698_n.jpg

There have been reports that Navy veteran John Cinque has been receiving threats because of his stance on the issue of Connecticut's gun registration law. Apparently those reports are due to a misreading of a piece by the New Haven Register in which Cinque said, "There have been threats made — that I found out about today." Freedom Outpost reached out to John Cinque, who spoke with us this morning and confirmed that the threats he was speaking about were towards the Branford Police, not towards him.

"The cops are having the threats…. they are scared," he told us.

Obama threatens to veto bill that would require administration to enforce laws

Via LH

President Barack Obama would veto a GOP-drafted bill that would allow legislators to take agency officials to court if they don’t enforce laws, according to a White House statement.

The GOP is pushing the bill through the House because Obama has repeatedly declined to enforce laws he doesn’t like, say GOP legislators.

“President Obama has refused to enforce those parts of our nation’s immigration laws that are not to his political liking, has waived portions of our welfare laws, has stretched our environmental laws to accommodate his policy objectives, and has waived testing accountability provisions required under the ‘No Child Left Behind’ education law,” according to Rep. Bob Goodlatte, the chairman of the House judiciary committee.

Connecticut gun owners train to shoot accurately.

Since Friday of last week the growing controversy over an apparent bogus report from Connecticut indicating that 250 peace officers had signed an open letter stating they would not enforce the state's new gun laws has reached a fever pitch.

Some have outright labeled the story as a hoax, a rumor, a fabricated tale designed to dupe supporters of gun rights. As the Examiner has stated repeatedly, if concrete verifiable evidence can be provided proving such charges, then the story will be retracted. The Examiner has also provided updates to the story to indicate there is reason to doubt it's source -- a Tyson Jackson -- and the existence of a "Connecticut Peace Officers' Association."

However, we have further indicated that even if the author is using a fictitious name and even if there is no such Peace Officers' group in Connecticut, the facts contained in the story are true and have already been verified repeatedly.

Obama pick: Doctors should grill you on guns

A Senate confirmation showdown is looming for President Obama’s choice to be U.S. surgeon general, largely as a result of the nominee’s ardent gun-control advocacy.

Thirty-seven-year-old Dr. Vivek Hallegere Murthy is lauded for his leadership abilities and for his ability to promote healthy lifestyles in a dynamic manner. He is also the co-founder of Doctors for America, an organization that advocates gun control and urges physicians to ask detailed questions of their patients about gun ownership and usage.

Gun Owners of America Executive Director Larry Pratt says that alone ought to disqualify Dr. Murthy.

“His urging that particular policy shows that he does not understand medical ethics. That is a question so far outside of anything to do with medicine. It shows that he is a willing tool of the state, even as German doctors and Soviet doctors would send to the regime information about the people that were in their care. This is an extremely alarming attitude. This guy clearly looks at himself as a government functionary before he considers anything about medicine,” Pratt said.

North Korean Tyrant Kim Jong-Un to Execute 33 Christians

Kim Jong-un, the supreme leader of North Korea, has called for the execution of 33 people for reportedly working as accomplices to South Korean Baptist missionary Kim Jung-wook and planning to help him create 500 underground churches.

The North Korean tyrant has asserted himself by ruthlessly and brutally murdering all whom he deems a threat to his power. In August, Kim Jong-un executed by firing squad his ex-girlfriend/singer Hyon. She and eleven others in her orchestra were executed with machine guns while the families of the victims watched in horror. Also, Kim Jong-un ordered the execution of his own uncle, Jang Song Thaek, in December for allegedly being a “traitor to the nation for all ages, and a despicable political careerist and trickster, human scum and worse than a dog.”

The Albanian mountain women who take a vow of celibacy and forever dress, work and live as men

Via WiscoDave

Tough work: Kajtaz Lajci, 64, stands with her gun and her ram on her farm in Gjolaj. Being a sworn virgin gives her the otherwise exclusively male right to carry a weapon and to own property

They may look like elderly, weathered men but these hauntingly beautiful photos actually depict a centuries-old minority of women, who exist in isolated regions of northern rural Albania and who live and act like men.

Burrneshas, also known as 'Sworn Virgins', cut their hair, don male clothing and adopt all the chores and responsibilities of the typical male head of the family.

Unlike other women, they are permitted to drink, smoke, carry a gun and socialize with other men.

The tradition dates all the way back to a 15th Century tribal code, whereby battle-torn families who had lost their last remaining male heir could put forward their oldest daughter to take on the Patriarchal duties instead.
