D.C. man on trial for one shotgun shell - wasn’t given David Gregory deal

A year ago this month, the attorney general for the District of Columbia let NBC News anchor David Gregory off scot-free for possession of a “high capacity” magazine because doing so “would not promote public safety.”

Now, Irvin Nathan refuses to use that same prosecutorial discretion for an average citizen who violated a bizarre technicality that makes empty casings and shells a crime as serious as having an illegal firearm.

Mr. Witaschek, a successful financial adviser with no criminal history, is the first known case of a citizen being prosecuted in D.C. for inoperable ammunition. Washington police and prosecutors have spent a year and a half trying to nail him for the possession of so-called unregistered ammunition.

A hunter and gun owner, Mr. Witaschek has always kept his firearms at his sister’s house in Virginia. If convicted, he faces a year in jail and a $1,000 fine for having a single, inoperable shotgun shell in his home. The jury trial starts on Feb. 11.

Racial preferences revealed by online dating

Via Daily Time Waster

All men except Asians preferred Asian women, while all except black women preferred white men. And both black men and black women got the lowest response rates for their respective genders.

Perhaps most surprising is that among men, all racial groups preferred another race over their own.

The Terrorists Won (Not Those Terrorists)

Yet another indication that the Regime and its subsidiary political apparatchiks in the various localities across the US are becoming nothing more than legions of auxiliaries to the Federal law enforcement leviathan. The Torrance, CA cop (I will bet dollars to donuts he is an overweight human), Brian McGee, has been cleared after ramming a vehicle not fitting the description of Dorner’s vehicle nor sporting the same pigmentation as the alleged cop killer. The smaller and whiter Mr. Perdue was on his way to a surfing break when the state thug rammed his car and fired three rounds through the windshield.

A number of observations become apparent.
  • The Torrance PD is rather ill-trained in its ability to distinguish between a purple Nissan and a black Honda although the apparently trigger happy McGee may have gotten skin tone and car color confused.
  • McGee’s shot group of three rounds was rather impressive by cop standards because they did not hit any other vehicles or pedestrians but failed to hit the innocent driver (another change of pace). Once Americans wake up to the clear and present menace to their well-being cops are everyday, they may accrue advantages in the future unpleasantness.
  • McGee could not have had positive ID before he opened fire because of the distinct differences in race and characteristics of the victims here. Nor did he have positive vehicle ID.
  • The internal investigation found no wrong-doing, big surprise there and one simply has to look at the track record of cops investigating each other and you can make the same bakery bet I alluded to earlier.
This is quite simply a declaration of war on ordinary Americans by every police department in America, all 19,000 departments.

Kim Pham
Kim Pham, Vietnamese, was knocked to the ground and beaten by a group of 5 Mexican men and women outside a club in Santa Ana, California early on Saturday morning.

Police in California have arrested a female suspect over the death of a 23-year-old woman who was brutally beaten as she waited in line outside a Santa Ana club on Saturday night.

The victim, identified by friends as Kim Pham, was declared brain dead following the attack in Santa Ana in the early hours of Saturday and relatives told KTLA on Monday that she had passed away.

Authorities were looking for 'a group of five individuals that are only described as three females, two males, all Hispanic between 20 and 25 years of age'.

Memorial posters and flowers were placed outside the club, and friends and relatives spread posters online pleading for information into the attack.

A donation page was also set up for the family, but Pham's sister later said that they did not want to receive donations and would be returning the money.

Just after dawn on New Year’s Day, a catastrophic fire broke out in the “Little Mogadishu” district of Minneapolis. The blaze began when an explosion blew out the windows in an upstairs apartment, propelling window frames and plywood debris into the street. The resulting fire sent flames twenty feet above the roof and took two days to extinguish. The bodies of two victims were found in the burned-out building, and a third man died later in the hospital.

News about the fire and explosion appeared briefly in the national media, and reporting on the incident continued through Friday in the local Twin Cities outlets. It faded over that weekend, and the story never really resumed the following week. Since that time it has all but disappeared. The two most recent media items were an announcement that a benefit will be held for the victims of the fire on January 24, and a report that four of the victims remain hospitalized.
The latter article makes this laughable assertion:
The cause of the fire that destroyed the Otanga grocery and displaced residents from the apartment above remains under investigation.
The cause of the fire is not being investigated, because it can’t be investigated: all the meaningful evidence was destroyed when the fire-damaged building was demolished less than seventy-two hours after the explosion occurred.

NC: Fort Bragg Soldiers Training with Police

 military training

Unwarranted NSA surveillance, the passage of NDAA, stop and frisk programs, and the rise of warrior cops, have essentially turned America into a centralized police state.

Blurring the lines between the U.S. military and local sheriff departments sets a dangerous precedent that erodes freedom and civil liberties.

Those lines are being blurred right now in South Carolina.

According to The State, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department will participate in secretive joint exercise Monday and Tuesday with unnamed units from Ft. Bragg.

The drills are scheduled to run up to midnight on both days and occur primarily in Lower Richland, around Hopkins and Eastover. Exercises will also take place around the Screaming Eagle Road near Elgin and North Richland County near outbound Monticello Road.

According to The State, a sheriff’s department spokesman refused to provide which units from Ft. Bragg are involved. Ft. Bragg is home to the U.S. Army’s elite groups, including the Special Forces and Delta Force.

The spokesman also said the drills would be noisy at times.

Armed suspect with extensive criminal history fatally shot by victim during attempted robbery

 http://www.guns.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Screenshot-29.jpg

A would-be victim fought back against three armed and much younger assailants when the trio attempted to rob him outside of his Allentown, Pennsylvania, home last Wednesday night, local media reported.

According to several witnesses and the victim, whose identity has remained private, he had just returned home about 10:40 p.m. and as he was getting out of his car he was jumped by three young men wearing hoodies.

Witnesses say it appeared that the suspects were in their teens, but later discovered that they were much older.

The young men began assaulting the victim, who is in his 50s, and pistol whipping him as they attempted to rob him, but when the man pulled out his own gun one of the suspects began firing at him. The victim was not struck but returned fire, hitting one of the suspects as the other two ran away leaving their injured accomplice behind.

Florida House Candidate: ‘I’m Past Impeachment. It’s Time To Arrest Obama And Hang Him High’

A black Republican candidate for Florida House District 68 faced serious backlash Monday after he tweeted that he agreed with a statement that President Obama should be arrested and hanged.

Joshua Black tweeted “Agreed” to a statement by another Twitter user who wrote, “I’m past impeachment. It’s time to arrest and hang him high.”

Republican candidate for House District 67, Chris Latvala, was quick to condemn the comment, tweeting at Mr. Black: “You aren’t seriously calling for the killing of Obama are you? I know you are crazy but good heavens. U R an embarrassment.”

“Execution is the appropriate punishment for traitors,” Mr. Black responded. “Don’t you have a race? Don’t you have a primary? #MindYourOwnBusiness?”

Knife Owners’ Protection Act Introduced in U.S. Senate

 Knife Owners Protection Act

Senators Mike Enzi (R-WY) and Mike Lee (R-UT) have introduced a complimentary Senate version of Knife Rights’ Knife Owners’ Protection Act, S.1955 (KOPA), This follows the introduction of Knife Rights’ KOPA bill in the House last November.

The Senate bill is based on the House bill as conceived and developed by Knife Rights, although it is formatted according to Senate rules. Knife Rights worked diligently with the Senate sponsors to ensure the Senate bill was fully aligned with the original House KOPA bill.
Knife Rights Chairman Doug Ritter explained, “having KOPA bills in both houses of Congress was a key Knife Rights strategy from the start, increasing the chances for legislative success. Accomplishing this without substantive differences between the two bills further enhances the likelihood that the law eventually enacted will accomplish fully our goal of protecting America’s knife owners.”
The text of S.1955 should become available online next week.
The result of three years of effort, Knife Rights conceived, drafted and developed the Knife Owners’ Protection Act as the first proactive pro-knife federal legislation introduced in the nation’s history.
Ritter concluded, “This legislation will solve a real and growing problem that faces every knife owner traveling throughout America–the threat of arrest and prosecution under misguided local laws merely for possessing knives during lawful travel.”

GUARD: Security team had warned Arapahoe High School administrators about erratic behavior of communist shooter well before his assault

 http://cdn.bearingarms.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/131213185313-13-arapahoe-denver-post-restricted-horizontal-gallery-315x175.jpg

Camerson Rust, a school security guard at Arapahoe High School, is making some stunning claims that suggest that the school administration ignored multiple warnings from the school security team regarding the erratic, sometimes violent behavior of the shooter well in advance of his attack on the school, including a death threat made against a teacher the day before the attack.

If these claims are corroborated by other members of the security team, faculty, staff, and/or students, then Principal Natalie Pramenko is going to find herself under a microscope:
“Claire Davis should not have died on December 13, 2013. Karl Pierson should not have died on December 13, 2013. Claire did not have a choice, Karl did,” Rust wrote on Facebook group page entitled “Bring Back Cameron Rust AHS” which appears to have been started by a student at Arapahoe High and has garnered over 1,000 members.
“Is Arapahoe High School Administration responsible for Karl’s choices? No! Are they responsible for their lack of action? Yes!”
Rust claims he and other security guards at the school expressed concern to school administrators prior to the Dec. 13 shooting in regards to a death threat allegedly made by Pierson directly to speech coach Tracy Murphy, as well as “symbols” the teen drew on his math tests and his recurring use of the word “comrade.”
Rust also says the security team reported to school officials that Pierson was looking up guns on his computer in the school cafeteria and that the “administration came back and told the security team it was Karl’s personal computer and he can do what he wants.”
He said many of the complaints regarding Pierson were not recorded in the teen’s school file, and lists multiple incidents he says proves his point that school officials ignored warnings and acted inappropriately.
“’We will read about that kid [Karl] in the news someday, it just won’t be at Arapahoe,’” Rust quotes school officials as saying in one of his points.
Rust also says Pierson was sent home due to an “anger outburst to another teacher” on the day before the shooting.

Wall Street adviser: Actual unemployment is 37.2%, 'misery index' worst in 40 years

Via Ryan

http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/8657/obamabracketdance2.jpg

Don't believe the happy talk coming out of the White House, Federal Reserve and Treasury Department when it comes to the real unemployment rate and the true “Misery Index.” Because, according to an influential Wall Street advisor, the figures are a fraud.

In a memo to clients provided to Secrets, David John Marotta calculates the actual unemployment rate of those not working at a sky-high 37.2 percent, not the 6.7 percent advertised by the Fed, and the Misery Index at over 14, not the 8 claimed by the government.

Marotta, who recently advised those worried about an imploding economy to get a gun, said that the government isn't being honest in how it calculates those out of the workforce or inflation, the two numbers used to get the Misery Index figure.

Guns: MSNBC “report” deceives on child suicides and self defense

 msnbc poll

I don’t know or care who Michele Richinick is as a person. I do care that she’s a reporter for MSNBC that seems intent on deceiving the American people to push a political agenda.

Rickinick’s story Guns + impulsive teenagers = tragedy is an attempt to use anecdotes of child suicide with firearms and a patently dishonest picture of firearms usage to suggest that guns should not be in homes with children, as the poll at the end of the article makes clear.

The Mexican citizen militia – for that is what it is – have armed themselves with whatever comes to hand. They’re capturing firearms from the cartels, police and military and bringing out guns that have been squirreled away for years, hidden from the government ever since the federales turned their back on their citizens’ Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. NC: Common Core committee meeting: No public comment allowed

Here is the official announcement of the next Common Core study committee meeting.  I regret to inform you that there will be no public comment allowed.  It has been my opinion from the beginning that public comment should have been allowed at every meeting of this committee, but I don’t get to make those decisions.

We have been told that public comment will be allowed at the third meeting of the committee.  However, that meeting will not occur until after the short session this summer.

Although no public comment will be allowed on February 20th, it is still a good thing to have as many concerned citizens present as possible.  We will continue to keep you informed as things develop.

13,000 High School Boys Just Graduated "Suicide Bomber" School in Gaza

 kid-terrorist
The Hamas government in Gaza celebrated the graduation on Monday of paramilitary camps geared at training high-school children “to follow in the footsteps of the suicide martyrs.”

The camps, titled “the pioneers of liberation,” are run by Hamas’s ministries of education and interior. Some 13,000 students in grades 10-12 participated in the one-week training camps this year, compared to 5,000 last year when the program was launched, Israeli sources with knowledge of the program said.

Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, Interior Minister Fathi Hammad and Education Minister Usama Mzeini attended the graduation ceremony on Monday, each delivering fiery speeches stressing the importance of military training in developing a new generation of Palestinian combatants.

“Beware this generation,” Haniyeh said, addressing Israel. “This is a generation which knows no fear. It is the generation of the missile, the tunnel and the suicide operations.”

The Hamas prime minister added that female trainers are also on staff “to oversee the training of the young women to follow in the footsteps of the female suicide operatives.”

Hammad, the interior minister, said the training was in preparation for the coming war with Israel.

McCarthy might have had a face made for radio; maybe he was crude and rude; maybe he was not elegant and refined. As the historical record shows, however, he was right: pro-Soviet Communists had infiltrated State, the White House, and other branches of government; the Soviets were conducting an aggressive campaign of espionage inside the US, Canada, and the UK.

Nelson Mandela's 'Long Walk to Freedom' - "Unquestionably, my sympathies lay with Cuba [during the 1962 missile crisis]. The ability of a small state to defend its independence demonstrates in no uncertain terms the superiority of socialism over capitalism." ... "I was bitter and felt ever more strongly that SA whites need another Isandlwana art-link-symbol-tiny-grey-arrow-only-rev01.gif," he explains. Driving around the country, Mandela constantly imagines rural landscapes as battlefields and cities as places where one day soon "the sweet air will smell of gunfire, elegant buildings will crash down and streets will be splashed with blood". These vivid quotes did not make it into the bestseller.

Bureaucrats - It doesn't even seem to matter whether they're Democrats or Republicans—they all take full advantage of what one news report described as "a mountain of perks that most Fortune 500 companies couldn't begin to rival." Even President Obama's closest advisers are millionaires, including those on his 15-member cabinet. It is not unusual for some of them to own vacation homes, such as Kathleen Sebelius, secretary of Health and Human Services, who owns a "summer home worth more than a million dollars."

Great Society programs - There is a reason LBJ and Bobby Kennedy used Appalachia. They did not think America would buy into their program if they used blacks. It was specifically chosen to get the whites on board ... The program was passed and the politicians disappeared. They got used. They got the brown end of thick once again. And you wonder why they don't trust outsiders?

City folks often forget how very well-armed rural folks are.  A half dozen short arms and maybe a dozen long guns is pretty much what most of the folks out here have accumulated.  There's a joke that's told locally that goes something like this: "What's the difference between have a dozen guns and 10,000 rounds of ammunition in the City versus the same goods in East Texas?" Answer:  "In the City, you're a terrorist.  In East Texas, that's a reasonable start on a gun collection."

Census defines a family as poor based on income level but doesn't count welfare benefits as a form of income. Thus, government means-tested spending can grow infinitely while the poverty rate remains stagnant... According to a variety of government sources, including census data and surveys by federal agencies, the typical American living below the poverty level in 2013 lives in a house or apartment that is in good repair, equipped with air conditioning and cable TV. His home is larger than the home of the average nonpoor French, German or English man. He has a car, multiple color TVs and a DVD player. More than half the poor have computers and a third have wide, flat-screen TVs.
