How Islam—and the ever-present threat it poses to humanity—could be brought to an end in one, simple step

Matthew Bracken writes:

Your commenter James P. writes:
Muslim refusal to engage in rational debate, engage in self-examination, or permit “humorous” attacks on their religion are not weaknesses. They are mighty strengths! They are not Islam’s “brittle glass jaw”; they are its bulging biceps! These attributes generate fear in their enemies, and cause their enemies to seek to avoid provoking Muslims and to appease Muslims when they are angry.
I agree that these attributes of Islam have proven to be a great advantage to it as a war religion for 1,400 years. However, we are now seeing before our eyes a paradigm shift that may bring about the end of Islam in the present generation. Samuel Huntington spoke of Islam’s “bloody borders,” but until the modern era, the true scope of the horror was only realized by the victims living on those borders who were under constant attack (the ultimately unsuccessful and now condemned counter-jihad we call the Crusades being the notable exception). Five hundred or a thousand miles from Islam’s bloody borders, it was always difficult to make people understand the existential threat Islam presented to all non-Muslim societies. After its early rampant “break out” period, when seen in the context of each generation, Islam appeared to be merely biting off one more small slice of territory at a time. And on it marched, generation after generation, always moving forward, rarely being pushed back, impervious to self-examination or reformation, as deadly in our modern times as it was at the beginning.

That is changing now, because today the entire world sees Islam’s true face revealed when Muslims go into these insane rages after perceived insults to Mohammed. Their ingrained lack of introspection means that Muslims can easily be provoked into going beyond the stealth-mode they normally follow beyond Islam’s bloody borders, waking up the world to the existential threat Islam poses to all non-Muslim societies. Down the centuries, the West has often had appeasers and accommodationists as leaders, men who were willing to cut short-term local deals that over time always led to incremental Islamic advances. And these weak Western leaders were the only men who mattered, era by era. Today, as a contrast, average citizens around the world are beginning to understand how to push Islam’s automatic rage buttons, and this changes the former equation in a fundamental way. As you mentioned, videos released by lone, non-state actors at the right time could be used to torpedo the next sell-out by Western appeasers, such as over the inclusion of Turkey in the EU.

Another fundamental difference today from prior centuries is that millions of people understand that Islam has another tremendous weakness, another glass jaw, and that is their worship of the black moon rock in Mecca as Islam’s literal god-head.

Elizabeth Temms, Confederate soldier, “bury me with my people”

Via SHNV

Elizabeth Temms, who disguised herself to fight for the South, wanted only to be buried with her people.

The former Confederate soldier asked only one thing as death grew closer in a Federal prison in Louisville, Kentucky two years after the War had ended. The simple request, “bury me with my people” was apparently ignored by those in charge of the remains, who surely knew where “home” was.

No common soldier, the requester was ultimately determined to be one Elizabeth Temms, the wife of George W. Temms, a soldier from Gordon County, Georgia. She had dressed herself in a soldier’s uniform and left Calhoun in a volunteer company of a Capt. Kinman, which had  been raised in that county at the outbreak of the War. Apparently she was arrested by the Federal authorities on her own farm, and taken to the prison at 12th and Broadway in Louisville, Kentucky, where she would ultimately die.

Sherman’s march across the South was in full swing, and she learned that the enemy was approaching and was able to alert the Southern troops and attempt to thwart the advance. For this she was summarily seized along with others deemed spies, and thrown in prison.

Liberal talker Rachel Maddow, not MSNBC president Phil Griffin, is navigating the network’s editorial direction in the wake of slipping ratings and a series of on-air blunders, National Review columnist Eliana Johnson writes.

Maddow’s unchecked power and her desire to fill the network with intellectual wonks may be palatable to some viewers, but ratings indicate that on the whole it is hurting MSNBC’s numbers.

The network that Griffin has labeled ‘the place for progressives’ is experiencing a free fall in its ratings, which are down 29 percent from 2012,” according to Johnson. “A decline was expected after a presidential-election year, but MSNBC’s competitors did not suffer as acutely. Fox News was down only 5 percent in total viewers (it suffered far more in the coveted 25–54 demographic, where the network has persistently struggled); CNN’s numbers, under the stewardship of newly installed president Jeff Zucker, remained flat.”

Michelle Obama costs taxpayers $1,415,170.00 per year in salaries for her 17 personal staff members

 michelle obama

So here we are over five years into the presidency of Barack Hussein Obama, with record unemployment and over 46,000,000 Americans on food stamps , one would think the Obama’s would set an example for others to follow. If you thought that, you’d be very wrong. Barack Obama has more than doubled our national debt since being elected and Michelle has spent massive amounts of money on many lavish trips and vacations.

When Jimmy Carter was president, even though history has proven him to be inept at his job, for all his faults, at least he was an honest man. But not so with the occupation of the Obama family in the peoples house. Even though we are (according to president Obama) in the midst of a “recession greater than that of the Great Depression,” our First Lady has spent tax-payer money on her own comfort and amusement like it’s free.

Rutherford Institute Sues Virginia County Over Landowner’s Right to Entertain Friends on 86-Acre Farm for Overnight Hunting Trips

Couldn't make this up.

Citing the right of property owners to have a certain amount of sovereignty over what takes place on their own property, The Rutherford Institute has filed a lawsuit on behalf of a Virginia landowner who was prohibited from allowing a friend to camp on his 86-acre farm for a hunting excursion.

In prohibiting landowner Joseph R. Ferguson, Jr., from allowing a friend to stay overnight in a camper parked on his farm, officials with Isle of Wight County claimed that use of the camper would constitute an unauthorized “campground” in violation of local zoning ordinances. Coming to Ferguson’s defense, attorneys for The Rutherford Institute have asked the Circuit Court of Isle of Wight County to reject the County’s misinterpretation of the law and recognize Ferguson’s right to lawfully use his property as he sees fit.

Solid Concepts announced it will sell 100 limited editions of the handgun, manufactured using the same process as the prototype. But being one of the first to own a piece of the future won’t come cheap.

Donate To The Young White Woman Attacked By A Black Man She Helped

katie

Katie Schlinger, 26 years old, of Tallahassee, FL, was visiting Aiken, SC, to support her brother, who was in the hospital for open heart surgery.

She stayed at a nearby hotel. Restless at 4 a.m., she went to have a cigarette in the warmth of her car in the parking lot.

There she was approached by a black man, 23-year-old Michael Antwon Fuller. He asked her for a cigarette.

They conversed about their respective relatives in the hospital.

Eventually Fuller asked the young woman if she wouldn’t mind giving him a ride to the hospital so he can check up on his uncle (who probably didn’t exist).

Schlinger employed the wise tactic of recalling patterns she has been made aware of in life, patterns of blacks’ way of speaking, their way of dress, and their attitudes.

After deciding Fuller was one of the safe blacks–he didn’t look, act, or talk like the ones she has learned through pattern-observation to avoid–she agreed.

She joked, “I’ll give you a ride if you promise not to hurt me,” to which he replied with what should have canceled her agreement to help him: “Who could hurt that precious face?”

Judge Rebuilds “Berlin Wall” Just for Homeschoolers

Following 21 days in German state custody, the four Wunderlich children were reunited with their parents, Dirk and Petra, in September. But now a family court judge refuses to return legal custody of the children to the parents. Read more about the Wunderlich family.

Calls Homeschooling Abusive “Straitjacket”

Following a hearing on December 18, 2013, in Darmstadt, Germany, Family Court Judge Marcus Malkmus slammed the door on the Wunderlich family’s emigration hopes. Lawyers for Dirk, Petra, and their children had asked the judge to return legal custody to the parents because they have complied with court orders that the children go to school and because they wish to move to France where homeschooling is legal.

In August 2013 the four Wunderlich children were seized in a raid by 20 police officers and social workers simply because they were being homeschooled, an activity that is illegal in Germany. After an international outcry, the children were returned three weeks later on the condition that the parents send them to public school. Testing conducted on the children during their stay in a group home indicated that they were well adjusted, social, and academically proficient.

The report also said an unsubsidized premium under Obamacare for a 30-year-old single smoker would cost $428 a month, compared to $70 monthly for Walmart employees.

“You will notice there are 9,837 doctors [under Obamacare]. But the larger [Walmart] network is 24,904 doctors. Huge, huge difference,” he said.

One Last Christmas Present: PRA Reaches 70 Cosponsors

statue

Supporters of the Parental Rights Amendment are starting the new year with some exciting news: 5 more congressmen are now cosponsors of HJRes. 50 proposing the Amendment in the U.S. House. This brings to 70 the number of cosponsors on the resolution.

I had been out of the office for the holidays, so coming back to discover these additions was like finding one last Christmas present waiting on my desk – a present for all of us!

This jump in sponsorship is the largest since we concluded a major nationwide call blitz last July. The number had climbed only slowly since, but lunged upward in the waning hours of the 2013 session. All 5 new sponsors were added on December 19, just one day before the House recessed for the year.

Coupled with the fact that the Senate Foreign Relations Committee did not vote on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, this was a huge victory for parental rights. (The longer the CRPD is delayed, the harder it will be for supporters to pass it in a contentious election year.)

Many of you took time from your busy December schedules to call your congressmen in support of the Amendment and to oppose the treaty, and these developments demonstrate that your calls work.

Thank you for making the effort to make a difference!

The five newest PRA cosponsors include Reps. Ken Calvert (CA-42), John Carter (TX-31), Randy Hultgren (IL-14), Billy Long (MO-7), and Aaron Schock (IL-18). To see if your representative has signed on yet, use the shortcut 4pra.us/House to visit our list online.

This support comes none too soon, as the state of parental rights in America gets more and more precarious every year. Next week, we will launch an email series highlighting the state of your rights entering 2014.

Each issue in the series will highlight a different story of parental rights abuses as featured in one or more videos. Our hope is that the videos will help you talk about the issues with your friends and lawmakers. Videos are also easy to share online or through email.

Ultimately, we believe that with your help this series can generate more citizen concern for parental rights, and even more lawmakers willing to cosponsor the Amendment in Congress.

Thank you for standing with us in 2013. As we celebrate these first victories of 2014, let’s work even harder this year to see children protected through the preservation of parental rights in America! (If you’re not yet signed up as a volunteer, why not do so here?)

Sincerely,

Michael Ramey

GOP Establishment's War on Tea Party Comes to Texas

Via avordvet

Screw the GOP. Using an establishment player sure worked well for y'all last time.......

The Republican establishment's war against the Tea Party has come to Texas. According to a report in the Dallas Morning News, "Some of Texas’ biggest business trade groups are moving to counter tea party and anti-government forces that have dominated recent Republican primaries."

The Texas Future Business Alliance, described as a "mix of 10 major business groups, including the chemical industry, bankers, builders and contractors," is reportedly "sending out mailers and providing other support on behalf of GOP candidates" who favor more government spending and want to take on the Tea Party.

Voluntary government checkpoints spark backlash

Via avordvet

A tactic used by the federal government to gather information for anti-drunken and drugged driving programs is coming under criticism in cities around the country, and some local police agencies say they will no longer take part.

The tactic involves a subcontractor for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that uses off-duty but uniformed police at voluntary roadside checkpoints where motorists are asked on their behavior behind the wheel. In some cases, workers at the checkpoints collect blood and saliva samples, in addition to breath samples. NHTSA has said previously that the surveys do not collect any DNA. Drivers are not charged at the checkpoints.

In an era of rampant distrust of the federal government and in the wake of the Obama administration's National Security Agency surveillance scandal in which the agency has collected telephone calling records from millions of unsuspecting Americans, the checkpoints have come under intense criticism in several cities this year.

"Five years ago it would have been a different story," says St. Charles County, Mo., Sheriff Tom Neer, who recently authorized deputies to participate in a checkpoint in his St. Louis suburb and saw a public backlash. "*There're just such strong anti-government feelings among people. Under the circumstances, I would not allow them to do it again. It's just because of the perception."

2013 Gun Sales Skyrocketed, Broke Previous Record by Wide Margin

Amid the relentless push for more gun control in 2013, there were 21,093,273 background checks for firearm purchasers.

The NRA sent Breitbart News a breakdown and comparison of this number against the numbers from previous years, and a record-setting trend is evident.

For example, the number of 2013 background checks is nearly two million more than the previous record – 19,592,303 in 2012 – and it far exceeds the 14,033,824 background checks performed during Obama's first year in office.

Illinois Conceal Carry Applications Overwhelmingly Outpace Obamacare Enrollment

On the heels of a federal court striking down Chicago's ban on gun sales, those seeking gun permits in Illinois flooded the State Police website over the weekend to begin the permitting process.

In fact, the amount of Illinois residents seeking a conceal carry permit already surpasses those who enrolled in Obamacare after the first two months of the launch of healthcare.gov. The Chicago Sun-Times reported 4,525 individuals signed up on Sunday alone for their firearms permits, when the State Police first opened the process to all concealed carry applicants.

Simulation gun-fighting is coming to a bar near you

If a former bounty hunter gets his way, gun-fighting with Simunitions (a kind of non-lethal man-marker round generally used in force-on-force training) will become the next big thing:

Later this month, two guys plan to walk into a North Las Vegas bar and shoot each other.

The combatants will be wearing ballistics-grade head and body armor, carrying dinner plate-sized forearm shields and modified police-issue 9 mm Glocks.

They will be standing at opposite ends of a 30-by-8-foot steel cage — fully enclosed, UFC-style — in the middle of what used to be a couple of stage-side tabletops at Whiskey Dick’s, 2750 E. Craig Road.

Obama DOJ pick: Global edict 'law of the land'

Civil-rights nominee represented cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal

Debo Adegbile, President Obama’s nominee to head the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, wants U.S. judges to ensure “customary international law” is “the law of the land.”

Adegbile also was party to an effort funded by billionaire George Soros to push for a new, “progressive” U.S. Constitution.

WND has found that Adegbile was an advisory board member to a group that produced an extensive blueprint for Obama to push “human rights” domestically, including using executive orders to ensure against racial profiling.

The 44-page paper, “Human Rights at Home: A Domestic Policy Blueprint for the New Administration,” was drafted by the Soros-funded American Constitution Society.

The paper recommended Obama join multiple U.N. and international human rights groups.

2013, Year of Resistance

 Ratchet it on up.

The year has shown monumental efforts by some to get back to the Constitution. An ever-growing portion of the largely distracted public is finally awakening to the fact that they are losing freedom and that both parties are responsible. Let us review those monumental moments of 2013 each of which have been covered extensively by us in previous columns.

We began the year with what was called “successionitis”—a desire of some of the people to leave the Union—not seen in the United States since the Civil War. Fifteen states posted over 25,000 signatures with Texas posting 116,000 by itself. The President closed down his site to further counting. With his refusal to allow further counting and the establishment media’s refusal to continue coverage, the issue was squelched. Discontent with the federal government not following the Constitution and the resultant loss of freedom (especially cited were NDAA and TSA) were said to be the reasons for the backlash by those participating.

This was followed by the 2013 Sheriffs’ Rebellion wherein by mid-February, 336 elected county sheriffs had signed pledges that they will not enforce any unconstitutional gun control laws or executive orders—seventeen of them in California. Nine states refused to comply.

Stop the bailout — now

 http://rightpunditry.files.wordpress.com/2013/05/pouty-reid1.jpg

First order of business for the returning Congress: The No Bailout for Insurance Companies Act of 2014.

Make it one line long: “Sections 1341 and 1342 of the Affordable Care Act are hereby repealed.”
End of bill. End of bailout. End of story.

Why do we need it? On Dec. 18, thechairman of the Council of Economic Advisers was asked what was the administration’s Plan B if, because of adverse selection (enrolling too few young and healthies), the insurance companies face financial difficulty.

Jason Furman wouldn’t bite. “There’s a Plan A,” he replied. Enroll the young.

But of course there’s a Plan B. It’s a government bailout.

Administration officials can’t say it for political reasons. And they don’t have to say it because it’s already in the Affordable Care Act, buried deep.

First, Section 1341the “reinsurance” fundcollected from insurers and self-insuring employers at a nifty $63 a head. (Who do you think the cost is passed on to?) This yields about $20 billion over three years to cover losses.

Then there is Section 1342the “risk corridor” provision that mandates a major taxpayer payout covering up to 80 percent of insurance-company losses.

Officials at Cal State Long Beach are questioning students before deciding if a formal campus investigation is needed after an early Monday morning brawl that broke out among a couple of dozen people at a toy drive put on by a university fraternity at a hotel near Los Angeles International Airport.

As many as 1,500 people were gathered at the 16th annual Kappa Khristmas Jam & Toy Drive organized by the Epsilon Kappa Chapter of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity at Cal State Long Beach, held at the Radisson Hotel on Century Boulevard. Witnesses, who declined to be named, reported tables and chairs thrown in a second-floor ballroom and people running through halls screaming and banging on doors.

A former Swiss Guard has claimed he was regularly asked for sex by a 'gay lobby' of high-ranking clergy in the Vatican.

Cardinals, bishops, priests and other officials in the Vatican had regularly attempted to engage the unnamed man, who was responsible for the Pope's security, in illicit rendezvous, according to new claims.

The former guard said he received up to 20 'unambiguous requests' from members of the clergy and was asked for sex by a dignitary close to Pope John Paul II, a Swiss weekly newspaper Schweiz am Sonntag reported.

Reid won't rule out filibuster elimination

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Sunday said he was not currently considering an elimination of the filibuster for legislation, but he warned that the country could not remain “paralyzed” by Republican obstruction.

Reid and the Senate Democratic majority enraged the GOP last year by moving to cut off the filibuster for most presidential appointees and judicial nominations. They left in place a 60-vote threshold for legislation. But in a rare Sunday television interview, Reid stopped short of categorically ruling out such a move in the future.

“We’re not there yet,” he said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.” “No, I’m not thinking about that today.”
