I’m going to say something that is probably going to get me laughed right out of the room.
The Taurus Curve is a brilliant pistol design.For those of you who know me, I want to assure you that I’m not being the slightest bit glib or sarcastic.
Many of my peers in the industry—the vast majority of whom are far better shooters than I—think that the Taurus Curve may be the worse handgun ever to be brought to market. To them I say, “heck, it isn’t even the most horrible handgun brought to market by Taurus.”

"A gateway drug into the gun culture". I hope so and more importantly hope its reliable for the masses that are sure to make it their first firearm. Just one thing I'd change to the design: add a front sight. Even if it were a bead sight from a shotgun.

a front sight would do an average shooter a bit of good. The laser would be better but
it's still an awfully short sight line. That thing is designed for point blank range! CH

DeleteI always kept my derringer in my right rear pocket, and one day as I was riding my motorcycle in the rain a Vietnamese Lambretta pulled out in front of me, which caused me to spill. I was fairly close to an American hospital, so I went there and they bandaged my arms up. The next day, I was doing the same thing, again in the rain, when a Korean jeep pulled the same stunt. When I went down, I heard an explosion and thought my motor had blown up. I was near the same hospital that I had gone to the day before, so I returned, and they took off my old bandages and put on new ones. I guess that at least I was consistent when I fell! I vowed then that I would buy a car, which I did later on. At any rate, when I got home, and as I was taking my pants off, I noticed a tear running from the bottom of my right rear pants pocket to an area just above my right knee. As soon as I saw this, I had a sinking feeling, and sure enough when I broke the derringer open, one round had been fired. Needless to say, I was very lucky as if it had hit my knee, I imagine that I would have been crippled. The next morning, I nervously read the newspapers in fear that I would see where a child had been killed by a stray bullet, but fortunately that was not the case.

I'm sure some will enjoy it. I like big guns that have some weight to them.
ReplyDeletePer Murphy: If it's stupid and it works, it ain't stupid. The only questions I see are; How well does it shoot? Bullets don't care how pretty or pricy a firearm is. And how reliable is it? Remember when Glocks first came out? A PLASTIC gun! How dare they.
ReplyDeleteOr, AKs and the Mosin Nagants? You want a damn Commie gun? Lastly High Points; yes they are heavy, bulky, "cheap" and "ugly", But they do work. I am sure "the market" will sort things out, providing the politcians don't step in and screw things up again.
