DeleteI think in California the AG or DOJ can ban things by appearance - they have done it to guns in the past that weren't AW's. There should be a note or disclaimer as follows " Even the thought of this item in the Great State of California is illegal and can result in prosecution."

DeleteI agree the law is stupid but I can't think of a quicker way to get shot than carrying around a dummy grenade. If I'm going to hold a grenade I want it to be a real one

As a paper weight or to decorate the man cave I have no problem with it at all.
Actually I have no problem with people having live grenades as long as they realize
what will happen if they brandish them.

I can't imagine someone "carrying around" a grenade in their hand. On their belt yes.
ReplyDeleteMy father was a WWII veteran along with my uncles. I can remember playing army as a kid. My one uncle was an instructor. He brought home about 50 practice grenades. They were the coolest. They worked just like a real grenade except they were dummy. You could take the firing pin lock it back with the handle and pin. If he was in a good mood he would charge them to pop. They used primers from shotguns to make the bang when you pulled the pin and threw them. I have no idea where they went. Unlike a real grenade when thrown the handle did not detach and ignite a fuse. With these the handle stayed attached until the grenade impacted. The handle then came free and the pin fired the primer making a bang. I’d give anything to have one of those grenades today. I can remember living in a different America. I miss those days and almost cry knowing my daughter and granddaughter will never know how wonderful those simple times were.
