Ferguson Schools Closing Next Monday And Tuesday Before Wilson Indictment

 Justice for Mike Brown.........! :)

Schools in the St. Louis metropolitan area are closing their doors in anticipation of potential riots that could follow the announcement of results from a grand jury investigation in the fatal shooting of Michael Brown.

Controversy has swelled for months around the fatal shooting of the unarmed Brown, who was black, by Darren Wilson, a white police officer in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson. A grand jury is expected to announce soon whether Wilson will face charges for the shooting. There is widespread concern that if Wilson is cleared, it could lead to riots in the city. Gov. Jay Nixon has already announced a state of emergency in order to cope with any flare-ups.

  1. According to what I've seen on Fox, no decision was reached as of Friday evening, and the GJ won't be meeting over the weekend. There are a few givens here which are worth noting:

    1. The authorities will be given a 48 hour heads up before the announcement, so that pushes things back to at least Wednesday.

    2. The school districts have asked that the announcement be made on a weekend. If that request is honored, now we're a week away at the earliest.

Personally, I'd rather they wait until next weekend myself. It would give us all at least a half-day to assess the severity of the situation, and act appropriately.

    1. Yes, as we'll be well filled on Thursday and ready for action. :)

    2. The whole Thanksgiving thing throws a bunch more variables into the equation, that's certainly true. The biggest of which is all the out of towners traveling to and through that area, to say nothing of all the other "urban centers" where similar "unrest" will no doubt occur. One Reginald Denny was enough. When the festivities begin, we should all be on home turf.

Absolutely, where maximum firepower is available.

  2. Aw, they're just doing what he'd be doing if he were still alive. For that matter, what he DID do when he was alive! He was nothing but a common thief. Probably a future rapist or murderer.
