Amazing! Vietnam leads the world in support of Free market System

Via Townhall

It was my belief in 1992 that we could bring more freedom to South Vietnam if the embargo was lifted, and I was proven correct.

  1. Crony economic state capitalism is not Capitalism. It's the new Communist plan to win the arms race. Nam is run by Commies. Marx even said you need wealthy Capitalist countries to fund the Communist/Soviet model. Illegal aliens are on welfare, scamming, dealing drugs, etc. and sending the money back to their Commie leaders in Mexico, Cuba, Russia, etc. Communism temporarily transformed itself into "Post Communism" (re: Gorbachev) - a hybrid phenomenon with some democratic "free market" features. Meanwhile oligarchs run Russia, China, Latin America, India, South Africa, etc. They are marginalized. It's a transition to a reset. Mob rule, by way of revolutions (re: arab spring, color revolutions, etc). Democracy must be in place to achieve the next level: Socialism. Then the next level: Communism. This will spell the end of all Western civilization. The state will be one. It will be supreme. Snowden is a Soviet agent. Look at his and his girlfriend's faces. Eastern Europeans. Greenwald's gay lover is from Brazil. It's the perfect plan: Obama the Soviet agent makes people dislike America and the West while the Commies look better and better on the world's stage.

Yes and it has been since '75, but in '82 they gave up as the Southerners refused to participate in their system after being under the French for 95 years and then and working with the US. It has been uphill ever since and Free Enterprise is in full swing there.

  2. Now, if they could just get the corruption under control.

It is the government corruption that keeps a lot of companies from investing there. I know of one developer, who has a very successful operation in Cambodia, could not do the same thing in Vietnam because of the corruption there.

The commies make the Thieu government look lily white, but getting rid of corruption might be an impossible task as it is ingrained in them from the 1,000 years of Chinese control. It is just a cost of doing business as it was before '75. Say you have a coffee shop on the corner, you pay bribes for your license and then you pay the local cop weekly, but you don't pay income tax. Same thing when I ran the Saigon Travel Bureau before and after the war.

    2. I was told, for a hassle-free visit, you put a $10 bill in your passport when you pass through customs.

To forget to do so results in a lot of headaches, and what pretty much can be called a $20 "fine".
