  2. That is always the way those of honor and courage serving those which have neither. If our leaders in Washington had one percent of the honor shown by those men it would sure be a different country. All of Washington combined could not match just one of those men.

  3. This reminds me of the Act of Valor movie. Wonder if it's from the same filming session

    1. May well be, though I haven't seen it. The first thing the video I posted reminded me of, was Vietnam.

  4. Yeh, well crafted propaganda. But the part we don't see and aren't told is the part where the " SEAL team" on the beach only has enough ammo to shoot its way out of ONE ambush. The "boats" haven't much more ammo than the "team" . A "Gurrilla" (Spl?) force could just cut the boats off by dragging a mined "boom" across a narrow waterway, engage the Navy guys and flat run that gun boat out of ammo in short order. The other thing I saw was that the boats sat too high in the water to have much in the way of armor , so their ONLY "play" is RUN. EVERYTHING about that boat screams speed-shock - surprise , but they have to go out the same door they came in, and that is always a bad idea. Block that exit and they just don't have the ammo to stay in the fight long at all. Add command detonated underwater mines ( around for almost 170 years) to a "blockade" and that outfit is screwed even with TACAIR on call. That tactic will work --once--The second time they try it on the same "enemy force" they lose; BAD. I think this kind of propaganda film is the pentagon "good idea faire" about to get good sailors killed , 'cause this tactic only works if its a surprise--and secret . Otherwise sending two small poorly armed and armored boats up a narrow river where they MUST pass the same point going out that they passed coming in is suicide. -- For all of you who will say "Poorly armed NO WAY!!" consider this, More guns = More men= less ammo per gun, less fuel for the boat, less armor for everybody. Ammo is HEAVY ;so are guns . That film was propaganda , if they carry that many guns/men into combat they "ain't goin' far" and they can count the seconds till the ammo runs out.--Ray

Insane and I guess more tightening of the already ridiculous rules of engagement, although I remember originally at Long Binh only the M60's had amply ammo on perimeter guard with the peons one mag only and the reassurance that there was more just a little ways in the rear.............Brilliant.
