:) About half way between Dana Point and San Clemente on Beach Road. There were only a few days a year of sufficient visibility to dive there, but when it was, just off 'The Steps" in twenty feet of water, there were numerous large Abalone and in 1977 I got the California record Green Abalone.
Congratulations. I have 2 grandsons and a 3-1/2 month old grand daughter. The funnest part of being a grand parent is you get to play with them all day and then send them home. Enjoy. They really do grow up fast. Mid WI
