The Coronet-based Super Bee was every bit the muscle car the Road Runner
was, including under the hood, for buyers could choose the 426/425 HP
Hemi and match it to a heavy duty 4-speed. That did not happen often,
however; only 38 Hemi 4-speed Super Bees were produced in 1969, making
them exceptionally rare today. One of those exceptional machines is
offered here in this low-mileage (42,147) 2-door coupe, which was
restored in 2004 and remains immaculate today.

DeleteIn the mid 80's my 70 year old uncle bought a hemi superbird. He was clocked at about 120 mph or so by a state trooper. The trooper asked him why someone so old was driving a car like this. My uncle responded that he couldnt afford one when he was younger. My uncle then gave the trooper the whole under hood tour of the car. The trooper must have been a car guy because he told my uncle to slow down and sent us on our way.

DeleteMuch smarter than 120+ on public interstate highway. I had (for a brief time) an 84 Ferrari 308. Kicked her up to 150ish on speedo on a lonely stretch of highway. After I did that I figgured it to be pretty dumb. Besides, I like american steel and get more enjoyment out of zero to sixty now days.
