Guns: Justice in New Jersey?

]
Shaneen Allen was arrested and charged with illegally carrying a firearm in New Jersey, even though she legally owned the gun and had a concealed carry permit for it in Pennsylvania. The single mother of two young children spent 46 days behind bars and now, being denied a motion of dismissal or admission to a pre-trial intervention program, she is facing up to three and a half years in prison — all for what she readily admits was a honest mistake.

  1. Is New Jersey a city in Mexico? They don't treat gang bangers like this when caught with a stolen weapon.

  2. No justice at all - she has sat and will sit in jail for no earthly good reason taking up space - If this isn't settled, and it goes to trial, Jury Nullification is the only solution for such injustice!!!

  3. This type of thing will continue until the family and/or friends of those being abused make the abusers pay dearly.

  4. This is all giving me a flashback years ago when I was driving out of Philly and the next thing I knew I was in Newark - HOLY MOTHER OF GOD - that was frightening. It's sort of like coming over the bridge from Windsor, Ontario, and there you are in the heart of the worst part of Detroit - very scary. But, at least you can carry a gun in Michigan.

    1. Fortunately, I wouldn't know, but I can well imagine. :) You need to head South, my dear lady, but obviously only to certain locales.

  6. We all know what needs to happen. What it is going to take to strop this miscarriage of justice. I will not lose any sleep over the dead, who were the truly guilty parties.

  7. Probably the worst thing is that they have taken the mother away from two small children. She will get over it but the children will always suffer from the time when their mom was taken away from them and they didn't understand why.
