Ben Carson Clashes With Jesse Jackson Over Ferguson: ‘Has Nothing To Do With Race’

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson challenged civil rights activist Jesse Jackson to defend his contention that the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson was a racist “state execution,” declaring that the 18-year-old’s death has “nothing to do with race.”

Carson and Jackson appeared on “Fox News Sunday” to discuss the ongoing dissatisfaction within the black community over the death of Brown, which many see as a symptom of systematic discrimination against blacks — particularly by white police officers.

“It’s a pattern,” Jackson contended. “Whether it was the killing of Trayvon Martin, the killer walked away free, the killing of Diallo in New York, shot 41 times by police, they walked away free. The Oscar Grant case in Oakland, or the case of Rodney King in L.A.”

“At some point, we require and need to have a sense of justice,” he continued. “All we do know about Mike Brown is, really, he was shot unarmed six times.”

Carson pushed back against Jackson’s portrayal. “If you take race out of the issue altogether,” he explained, “and you take a group of young men and you raise them with no respect for authority, not learning to take on personal responsibility, having easy access to drugs and alcohol, they’re very likely to end up as victims of violence and incarceration. Has nothing to do with race.”

  1. Ben Carson is correct. Nothing to do with race. Brown brought it on himself with
his entitlement generation. Acts of violence begets violence.

  2. Yes, that's right, the shooting of unarmed, albeit out of control monster/charging bull nigger buck, Michael Brown had to be stopped.
As we know, "peace" officers throughout America are not the out of control and murderous jackboot soldiers of a police state standing army.
From battlefieldusa.wordpress.com - Police in Ottawa, Kansas shot and killed an 18 year old, unarmed(white) teen Saturday night, August 23, 2014: thefreethoughtproject.com/ottawa-police-shoot-unarmed-teen-16-times-family-begs/#2ugAs1r79DdzWMZg.99
The article includes the broadcast report of the shooting by local KCTV 5 news.

Coincidentally, the two officers that were involved in the shooting of Jennings were also present when Jennings was taken to Ransom Memorial Hospital to be treated for the overdose, according to Jennings’ aunt, Brandy Smith.
Smith’s husband also tried to stop the police from shooting him, but he was told to stop or he would be shot too.
“My husband was going to tackle him. He was within arms reach. They said to get back or they were going to shoot him,” Smith said.
Ottawa Police Chief, Dennis Butler, said the officers did what they were trained to do. ”They reacted based upon the training that they’ve been given from the academy,” Butler said. “We were thankful that no officer was injured from protecting themselves from risk of great bodily harm.”
But they all end up in the same place, falling back on the moldy rhetoric of “crushing stress” and “split-second” “life-or-death decisions,” yada, yada, yada. Because the thousand rules which are supposed to constrain police all come with a caveat, “unless you can come up with a story, no matter how far-fetched, about why you were afraid or felt threatened, in which case you can blow the motherfucker’s head off.”

From Lafayette, LA: Coroner rules Victor White death suicide
    klfy.com/story/26349989/victor-white-autopsy-findings-released
"As Coroner of lberia Parish it is my duty to rule on cause and manner of death in all such cases as Mr. White's to the best of my ability and without bias. Based on the forensic evidence and information gained from the ongoing State Police investigation, I have determined the cause of death is a single contact gunshot wound to the right lateral chest, and the manner of death is suicide. Although the decedent was handcuffed at the time with his hands to his back, due to his body habitus," the pathologist and investigators agree that he would have been able to manipulate the weapon to the point where the contact entrance wound was found.

Yepper, there is always a rational and justified explanation for
    killings by police.
There is nothing to see here.
    Move along.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.
