Washington and Lee Capitulates: Takes Down Confederate Flags, Locks out Sons Of Confederate Vets

Via Billy

On April 17, Breitbart News reported a group a black students calling themselves "The Committee" placed several demands on Washington and Lee University, including calls for the university to remove all Confederate flags from campus, "acknowledge" Robert E. Lee's "dishonorable side," and end neo-Confederate marches across campus to the Lee Chapel.

By July 9, the Confederate flags had been removed from Lee Chapel and during July 25-27 the Chapel and onsite Museum were closed so that the Sons of Confederate Veterans could not access them during their marches and meetings on campus.

    1. Me too. I've got a piece to post shortly, but this part of it pisses me off so much, I thought I would share it now.''

"Since it was my first time in Lexington I wanted to see the Lee Chapel and the grave of Lee's horse Traveller. As I began to head for the Lee Chapel, a Police Officer stopped me and said that I could not enter the campus property with my Battle Flag or any images of Confederate Flags on any of my possessions including my clothing. I really wanted to pay my respects to General Lee and Traveller so I had to turn my shirt inside-out, take off my hat, and take off my badge."

    2. I find as I age I am not mellowing like everyone said I would. I was a troublemaker all my life and I find myself becoming more of an in your face rebel every year. I wish I lived closer I’d hit about 50 biker bars and see if they was up for some fun. I’d buy about 500 flag hats and have a ride. I’d like to see the guards when the first biker told him to FUCK OFF. Get a rally of 500 to a 1000 bikers and ride there then tell the guards to all to pound sand. Pay honor to an American.

    3. I was thinking along the same line, but not bikers, just whoever, let's go and we're walking in. Do what you want to do.

  2. Sounds to me like it is time to remove the General's body and Traveler from the chapel and build a new fitting memorial where he can be buried with respect under the flag he fought so for! Then they can change the name of the school to Washington & Obama University with white flags of surrender flying all around.

    1. Yes, as I mentioned previously, the family should take the good general as well as the other Lees there along with Traveller and reinter them at Beauvoir. Take the statue also as the school would probably be only too happy to give it up, though I'm afraid the present day Lee family pales in comparison to the noble ones before. They should be in the forefront, but are evidently hiding in the shadow of the great PC monster. Shame on them.

  3. They won'y be happy until they get General Lee's name removed from the University. What is this band of six Affirmative Action geniuses going to demand when they learn that President Washington owned slaves. What then shall we call the school?

    1. Oh, I'm sure they can come up with one of their cohorts in the 80 IQ range.
