“Well-Regulated”

We hear it constantly from droning citizen control cultists.

The argument goes something like this.
“You want to listen to the last part of the Second Amendment where is says ‘shall not be infringed,’ but you ignore the part where it says you have to be a ‘well-regulated militia.’”
Invariably, they argue that “well-regulated” means “subject to extensive government regulations.”
But what does “well-regulated really mean?

  1. I have used that same rebuttal to lefty gun grabbers before. The Militia is well regulated as it is. The government has nothing to do with it.

  2. If I said "Being hot today, we are going to the Dairy Queen" does that mean that six months from now when it's cool I have to give the ice cream back? Damned fools.
