  2. Brock this is off my blog and with your permission I will repost it here.

Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has now been properly crucified. As far as I am concerned what he said was disgusting and revolting. However, was what he said and thinks illegal? Are we now to the point where we punish someone for what they think? If we are then who gets to decide what thoughts are permitted and what thoughts are illegal.

Seriously how is he being punished? He has to sell his team and turn a profit possibility close to BILLION dollars. I question if this advances society or the culture’s fight against racism. I propose this does not advance the fight against racism but actually set back the ability to eliminate racism. Does he now magically lose his racist ideas? I say all this did is reinforce those feelings. It also further reinforced the feelings of anyone else that agrees with Donald Sterling. I can guarantee he did not live in a bubble with those ideas. Now all his friends seeing what happened to Donald will now never openly discuss their feelings.

The only way to eliminate racism is an open and free dialog. This scorched earth jihad will not do anything but drive those feelings further underground. All that was done is teach anyone with racist ideas to keep quiet. Pushing racism deep underground will never work. Only by being able to openly discuss and educate will any gain against racism be achieved.

This could have been one of those great teachable moments in history. Unfortunately I believe the wrong lesson was taught.

And yes these race pimps are the biggest problem.

    1. Thanks, but honestly what he said is nothing different than we hear everyday from every color in the world and I really could care less. I invite my black "cousins" to my family reunion each year and if some don't like it that's too bad. They are conservative like me, but there are a hell of a lot of blacks who I would have nothing to do with as well as some people of other races. It's a personal choice whether or not you associate with the rainbow of colors.
