Interfax news agency reported early Thursday, Feb. 27, that armed men had seized Crimean regional government and parliament buildings, the day after armed clashes between pro-Russian and pro-European protesters prompting a Russian military alert. This may be a coup attempt either by pro-Russian or anti-Russian elements in the region. debkafile: Witnesses in Crimea Wednesday night saw Russian military equipment moving into the peninsula. We reported earlier that Vladimir Putin would never relinquish Russian control of the Crimean peninsula and its military bases there - or more particularly the big Black Sea naval base at Sevastopol.

    1. As was mentioned on another post here, what's the big deal, if the two regions want to separate, let them? Of course, we tried that here............... I detest individuals who wish to control others.
