In Wisconsin, dozens of conservative groups and allies of Gov. Scott Walker are undergoing political intimidation from the left at the hands of a special prosecutor.

Subpoenas have been issued demanding correspondence and donor information of right-leaning organizations and individuals and raids have been conducted resulting in law enforcement officers taking computers and files in a secret investigation, according to reports.

“In recent weeks, special prosecutor Francis Schmitz has hit dozens of conservative groups with subpoenas demanding documents related to the 2011 and 2012 campaigns to recall Governor Walker and state legislative leaders,” the Wall Street Journal writes.

It continues, “Copies of two subpoenas we’ve seen demand ‘all memoranda, email . . .

correspondence, and communications’ both internally and between the subpoena target and some 29 conservative groups, including Wisconsin and national nonprofits, political vendors and party committees. The groups include the League of American Voters, Wisconsin Family Action, Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, Americans for Prosperity—Wisconsin, American Crossroads, the Republican Governors Association, Friends of Scott Walker and the Republican Party of Wisconsin.”

Vengeful Monster Takes Facebook Picture Moments Before Killing Infant Daughter And Shooting Himself

Merrick McKoy and his murdered baby daughter Mia

Merrick McKoy, 22, is a monster. In a disgusting display of unbelievable cruelty, McKoy posted an adorable picture of himself and his 19-month-old daughter Mia, just moments before he shot her in the head and killed her. He wrote ‘I told u I can’t live without u lol u thought I was joking now me n Mia out this b----.’He then turned the gun on himself. Right now, he is alive and in critical condition.

What father would do this? A father who only cares about himself and seeking revenge on his ex-lover. McKoy is a cold-blooded killer, and the worst kind of killer; a father who mercilessly gunning down his own baby girl to spite her mother.

9th Circuit Issues Important Gun-Rights Decision

 Gun and Gavel

It took nearly two years but this morning the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals issued a decision written by ninety year old judge Harry Pregerson which created a framework in the 9th Circuit for deciding Second Amendment cases.

The court of appeals adopted a “Two Step Inquiry” (1) If the challenged law burdens conduct protected by the Second Amendment then (2) courts are directed to apply an appropriate level of scrutiny.

This is an important decision because when the US Supreme Court decided District of Columbia v. Heller (2008) and McDonald v. City of Chicago (2010) the cases involved bans. The High Court did not describe a framework for the courts to use to evaluate laws that fell short of outright bans as was the case in Heller and McDonald.

Until today, the cases decided in the 9th Circuit did not articulate a framework because they either involved persons the court said fall outside the scope of the Second Amendment (e.g., convicted felons) or “arms” which the court likewise said fall outside the scope of the Second Amendment (e.g., bombs) or persons using firearms to further their criminal enterprise (e.g, drug dealers), etc. In cases such as this, the court decided that it was not necessary to articulate a framework to use in deciding the cases. In other words, these were “Open and Shut” cases.

What This Portends for the Concealed Carry and Open Carry cases?

Michelle Obama: Obamacare, Gun Control Require a Democratic Senate

 Ain't got a clue. :)

In the interest of fairness, Michelle Obama taped some remarks to help the National Republican Senatorial Committee yesterday.

Democratic Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes was among the female candidates who gathered with the first lady for a Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee fundraiser, where Obama spoke of the need to elect more Democratic senators to further the president’s agenda.

The first lady, talking about how narrowly “Obamacare” had passed and the slim margin by which gun control legislation was defeated, said that “it is critical that we elect Michelle Nunn, Alison Grimes, Natalie Tennant.”

The Race that could Unseat Anti-gun Harry Reid as Senate Majority Leader

 http://wac.450f.edgecastcdn.net/80450F/newstalkkgvo.com/files/2013/09/Steve-Daines.jpg

Do all you can to help Steve Daines get into the Senate!

Gun Owners of America is proud to endorse Congressman Steve Daines for Montana's open U.S. Senate seat.

Steve Daines has been a vocal leader for protecting the Second Amendment from the first day he was elected to Congress in 2012.  He is a much needed addition in the Senate to stop the Obama/Harry Reid anti-gun push, especially stopping the ratification of the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was recently asked why he wasn't pushing more anti-gun legislation for the President and other anti-gun leaders like Dianne Feinstein.

Reid's answer was that he just doesn't have enough votes right now!  He said nothing of the fact that these anti-gun bills were un-Constitutional; no, he’s just upset because he doesn't have the necessary votes to pass them.

That’s why we need to take anti-gun Harry Reid out of his leadership spot in the Senate!  But if we are going to do that, we must win 6 Senate races across America -- and the Daines race is absolutely crucial to our effort.

Steve Daines needs your help -- both volunteer and financial:

* For all of our Montana friends of GOA, please email, Tweet, or connect on Facebook with Daines for Senate and volunteer your help with the campaign.

* For all members across America, please donate at www.stevedaines.com, or you can send a check to:  Steve Daines for Montana / P.O. Box 1598 / Helena, MT 59624.

Those of you who live in states that have two anti-gun Senators, this is your unique chance to affect next year’s elections.  This is the “vote” you can cast that will really make a difference.  You can impact this race by donating to the “Steve Daines for Montana” campaign.

You can join the campaign efforts via Twitter by connecting with @DainesforMontana and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/SteveDainesforMontana.

This is considered the number one U.S. Senate seat by most organizations who want to stop Harry Reid and President Obama from destroying our country and our Constitution.

Please join the Daines for Senate team today. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Tim Macy

13th Annual Gettysburg Banquet of the J.E.B. Stuart Camp, SCV, Philadelphia 03 November 2007
How Should 21st Century Americans Think about the War for Southern Independence?

We human beings are peculiar creatures, half angel and half animal, as someone has said. Alone among creatures we have a consciousness of ourselves, of our situation, and of our movement through time.We have language, and by symbols can communicate knowledge to one another and across generations.

We can learn something about humans from the Divine Revelations in the Bible. We can also learn something by scientific examination of our physical selves. Most of what we know about human beings is in our knowledge of the past. As a philosopher puts it: we must live forward but we can only think backward. I am, of course, making a plea for the importance of history, or to be more exact, historical memory, something that is undergoing catastrophic destruction today in the United States.

People without knowledge of their past would be scarcely human. What makes us human is the culture we inherit. It has been truly said that we are what we remember. Let me emphasise: What we remember determines what we are. What we take from the past is crucial to our identity. And it follows, as Dr. Samuel Johnson said, that there is hardly any worse crime against humanity than to falsify its records.

Every society of any worth has revered those who preceded. Romans, in their period of greatest freedom and achievement, kept their ancestors by the fireside as minor gods. The Greeks at their highest point thrived in a belief in a Golden Age of Heroes that preceded their own lesser times.  It is right that we of the Sons of Confederate Veterans honour our forebears because they are ours—but not only because they are ours.

We sons of Confederate soldiers are especially fortunate in our forefathers. They not only won a place in the hearts of us, their descendants. They also won the lasting admiration of every one in the civilized world who values courage, skill, sacrifice, and an indomitable spirit in defense of freedom. That is why our battle-flag, which is being suppressed in these United States, appeared spontaneously at the fall of the Berlin Wall and among peoples celebrating their liberation from the Soviet Empire.

Our forefathers are admired by the world to a degree seldom granted to lost causes. I find that thoughtful Europeans speak respectfully of the Confederacy, as did Winston Churchill. Foreigners have a great advantage in judging the right and wrong of the War between the States. They do not start out with the automatic assumption that all the good is on one side and all the bad on the other.

Homeowner shoots, kills intruder in strange home invasion

Homeowner shoots and kills intruder in Pierce County

Police said a homeowner shot and killed a man who crashed through a gate and broke into his house near Buckley.

The shooting happened in rural Pierce County at the corner of 258th Avenue East and 164th Street East about 11 p.m. Monday.

Police said the intruder drove up the driveway at a high rate of speed, broke through a steel gate, mangling it, and then crashed into a car.

The driver then went to the house, pounded on the door, broke some glass and forced his way in.
There was a scuffle, and the 67-year-old homeowner was punched multiple times.  At some point, he was able to reach for his gun and shot the man three or four times, killing him, deputies said.

Cuomo clamp down punishes L.I. gun club

Long Island junior shooting club is latest casualty of Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s signature 2013 gun control law that makes ammunition sales subject to federal background checks.

“Purchasing ammunition for the Freeport Junior Club will cost us three times the amount in the retail market,” said Alan Chwick who has been the club’s managing coach for 28 years.  The not for profit organization promotes and teaches firearm safety skills and competitive shooting to participants aged 5 through 21.

Prior to the January enactment of New York Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act, the club was receiving a discount ammunition rate from a federal funding source specifically put aside for use in children’s programs, he said.  “With the new law, all ammo sales, no matter how small or large must undergo a federal background check.”

Although the ammo requirement will not be in effect until Jan. 15, 2014, he has already been denied the discount price for this year’s purchase, he said.

“This last Spring 13 million rounds were set aside for youth programs,” he said.  “Everyone is getting their allocation, except us.”

School Cancels Christmas Toy Drive After Humanists Threaten to Sue

A South Carolina charter school has canceled its annual Christmas toy drive after a group of self-described humanists complained that the project violated the U.S. Constitution and accused them of bribing children to convert to Christianity.

Renee Mathews, the principal of East Point Academy in West Columbia, S.C., said the annual Operation Christmas Child project was halted because the American Humanist Association threatened to sue the school.

“We received a letter saying we had to cease and desist immediately or they would take legal action against us,” Mathews told me.

Zimmerman’s girlfriend claims he choked her, while judge orders $9,000 bond

 Space case

A judge in Florida has ordered a $9,000 bond for George Zimmerman on charges of assault and battery for allegedly threatening his girlfriend with a shotgun, amid fresh claims from a prosecutor that Zimmerman choked his girlfriend in an unreported incident.

In this latest scuffle, both Zimmerman -- the man acquitted earlier this year of criminal charges in the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin  -- and the woman he was arguing with each called 911 and provide dueling descriptions to police dispatchers about the argument.

Zimmerman's 27-year-old girlfriend, Samantha Scheibe, accused him in a 911 call of pointing a gun at her, smashing a coffee table and then pushing her outside. Zimmerman also called dispatchers, flatly denying pointing a gun at her and blaming her for the broken table.

A prosecutor said Tuesday that Scheibe revealed that she was choked by Zimmerman a week and a half ago, but the incident was not reported to police. She added that Scheibe said that Zimmerman was threatening suicide.

Marxism is evil

And so are its defenders.
The Left is trying to rehabilitate Karl Marx. Let’s remind them of the millions who died in his name
Hey, can’t make an omelet without killing a few million people.

I can’t quite believe that I’ve just sat through ten minutes of BBC television in which British journalists Owen Jones and Zoe Williams have defended Karl Marx as the prophet of the End of Capitalism. Unbelievable because I had thought Marxism was over with the fall of the Berlin Wall – when we discovered that socialism was one part bloodshed, one part farce. But unbelievable also because you’d have to be a pretty lacking in moral sensitivity to defend a thinker whose work sent millions of people to an early grave.

I don’t want to have to rehearse the numbers but, apparently, they’re not being taught in schools anymore – so here goes. Sixty-five million were murdered in China – starved, hounded to suicide, shot as class traitors. Twenty million in the USSR, 2 million in North Korea, 1.7 million in Africa.

The nightmare of Cambodia (2 million dead) is especially vivid. “Reactionaries” were sorted out from the base population on the grounds of being supporters of the old regime, having gone to school or just for wearing glasses. They were taken to the side of paddy fields and hacked to death by teenagers.

Census ‘faked’ 2012 election jobs report

In the home stretch of the 2012 presidential campaign, from August to September, the unemployment rate fell sharply — raising eyebrows from Wall Street to Washington.

The decline — from 8.1 percent in August to 7.8 percent in September — might not have been all it seemed. The numbers, according to a reliable source, were manipulated.

And the Census Bureau, which does the unemployment survey, knew it.

Just two years before the presidential election, the Census Bureau had caught an employee fabricating data that went into the unemployment report, which is one of the most closely watched measures of the economy.

And a knowledgeable source says the deception went beyond that one employee — that it escalated at the time President Obama was seeking reelection in 2012 and continues today.

Obama’s Ed Secretary: Common Core Opponents Are White Suburban Moms with Dumb Kids

Useful fool.

Obama’s Education Secretary recently said that opponents to the Administration’s “Common Core” Standards are merely “white suburban moms” who are, all of a sudden, learning that their kids aren’t real bright. Arne Duncan (wow. . . Perfect name for a 1970’s sitcom) made the degrading remarks to a group of state school superintendents on Friday. According to the Washington Post:

U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan told a group of state schools superintendents Friday that he found it “fascinating” that some of the opposition to the Common Core State Standards has come from “white suburban moms who — all of a sudden — their child isn’t as brilliant as they thought they were, and their school isn’t quite as good as they thought it was.”

First of all, Arne, what does race have to do with anything? For that matter what does the socio-economic status of parents have to do with anything?

Lincoln's Revised Gettysburg Address

 http://www.counter-currents.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/fistbump.jpg

Author Charles E. Gilbert, below, asserts that Lincoln’s “fame is far beyond the man’s deserts; his abilities exaggerated; his virtues magnified; his statesmanship overestimated; his one achievement misrepresented and misunderstood; conflictive in declaration, purpose and effect.”
Bernhard Thuersam, Chairman
North Carolina War Between the States Sesquicentennial Commission
"Unsurpassed Valor, Courage and Devotion to Liberty"
"The Official Website of the North Carolina WBTS Sesquicentennial"

Lincoln's Revised Gettysburg Address

"General Donn Piatt, who traveled with Lincoln during his campaign and knew Lincoln perhaps as well as any man: "When a leader dies all good men go to lying about him. Abraham Lincoln has almost disappeared from human knowledge. I hear of him, I read of him in eulogies and biographies, but fail to recognize the man I knew in life . . . Lincoln faced and lived through the awful responsibility of war with a courage that came from indifference."

Ward Lamon, intimate friend of Lincoln and his United States Marshal for the District of Columbia, and Colonel in the Secret Service; Historian Shepherd of Baltimore; W.H. Cunningham of the Montgomery (Missouri) Star, who sat right behind Lincoln at Gettysburg, all agreed and publicly stated that the speech published was not the one delivered by Lincoln; that both Edward Everett and Seward expressed their disappointment and there was no applause; that Lincoln said: "Lamon, that speech was like a wet blanket on the audience. I am distressed by it." These gentlemen who heard the speech all say that the speech delivered was not the one which has been so extensively printed. Even [Lincoln secretary John] Nicolay says: "It was revised."

William H. Herndon, under whom Lincoln began his law practice and longtime friend, wrote one of the first biographies of Lincoln, "Story of a Great Life," but because of its frankness in unfolding the life of Lincoln it was bought up and suppressed. It was republished some years later, much modified.

Lamon, in his "Life of Lincoln," said: The ceremony of Mr. Lincoln's apotheosis was planned and executed after his death by men who were unfriendly to him while he lived. Men who had exhausted the resources of their skill and ingenuity in venomous distractions of the living Lincoln were first after his death to undertake the task of guarding his memory, not as a human being, but as a god. After his death it became a political necessity to pose him as the greatest, wisest, Godliest man that ever lived.”

Among those participating in the apotheosis Lamon names Seward, Edwin Stanton, Thad Stevens and Charles Sumner.”

Son recalls heroism of Adm. Stockdale

Navy Vice Adm. James B. Stockdale’s journey — from prisoner of war in Vietnam to Medal of Honor recipient to Ross Perot’s vice presidential running mate in 1992 — reflects the path of a true American hero.

In a Nov. 6 interview here for the pilot episode of The Pentagon Channel’s upcoming series, “Legends of Seapower,” Stockdale’s son, James Stockdale II, shared his father’s story and legacy.
The elder Stockdale, who died of Alzheimer’s disease at age 81 on July 5, 2005, in Coronado, Calif., played a critical role in the Gulf of Tonkin incident, a seminal event that would prompt the onset of large-scale military operations in Vietnam.

“Dad’s story … is about of group of individuals who chose duty before dishonor and they self-selected out to be courageous … to the point of just dying before capitulating,” Stockdale II said.

Fed's Message of No Rate Hike Until 2015 Is Sinking In: Study

 http://s1.reutersmedia.net/resources/r/?m=02&d=20131118&t=2&i=812934476&w=460&fh=&fw=&ll=&pl=&r=CBRE9AH1E3J00

The Federal Reserve has effectively communicated its commitment to ultra-easy policy, so that economists and traders correctly understand that interest rates will likely stay near zero until "sometime in 2015," according to a Fed study published on Monday.

The paper, published in the latest Economic Letter from the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, looks in detail at data through late May. At that time, the researchers said, investors and economists expected a first Fed rate hike around mid-2015, based on economist surveys and Treasury yields interpreted in light of near-zero rates.

Although the paper does not explicitly say so, the decline in market rates since May — when Fed Chairman Bernanke offered a timeline for the end of the Fed's massive bond-buying program that now sees too aggressive — suggests that traders may now see the Fed's first rate hike as coming even later.

Sign Of The Times - Wal-Mart Launches Employee Food Drive

Via WiscoDave

 Embedded image permalink

You may find what is happening at one Wal-Mart in Ohio very hard to believe.  At the Wal-mart on Atlantic Boulevard in Canton, Ohio employees are being asked to donate food items so that other employees that cannot afford to buy Thanksgiving dinner will be able to enjoy one too.  You can see a photo of the donation bins that has been posted on Twitter right here

On the one hand, it is commendable that someone at that Wal-Mart is deeply concerned about the employees that are so poor that they cannot afford to buy the food that they need for Thanksgiving.  On the other hand, this is a perfect example that shows how the quality of the jobs in this country has gone down the toilet.

The blind leading the blind: Obamacare Deadlines Shortened By Lack of Payment Options

When the Obama administration launched the Healthcare.gov website on October 1, the president and his officials focused on the coverage that would now be available to the uninsured as of January 1, 2014.  However, with the recent flood of cancellations of those who were told they could "keep their plan," millions more will need new insurance in place by the beginning of the new year.  The well publicized "glitches" have slowed enrollment considerably, and now there is new evidence that consumers will find themselves with even less time to secure coverage than originally thought.

An editorial in last week’s USA Today repeats the common belief about the deadline: "The deadline for signing up for insurance that begins Jan. 1 is Dec. 15."  However, "signing up" for insurance is not enough.  As the Healthcare.gov website states [emphasis added]:
If you enroll in a private health insurance plan any time between October 1, 2013 and December 15, 2013 and make your first premium payment, your new health coverage starts January 1, 2014.

The CRPD, Self-Government, and an Abandoned Flight

  https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkIM2ORwtoOnnehspxni40rY1mAj0YFMujCJEZyo9K_qj_yXTleMecXmuATraLBK6AxRckZINu9xQYZ5Dg6g0OAGYjijyuRpT1OazgS8gJvmnGKFjMruq7NVCyeXmH2QY-yMySlcdDxV9A/

Last Wednesday a delayed U.S. Airways flight from Philadelphia to Long Island was cancelled when the passengers chose to abandon the plane in protest. But this wasn’t about complaining over a delay. It was the kind of American solidarity that proves that self-government works (if given the chance) and that we do not need the United Nations telling the U.S. how to respond to the needs of those with disabilities.

The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, a United Nations treaty that would threaten American sovereignty and parental rights, will get a second hearing in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Thursday. But those who believe we need this treaty to force us to do a better job of protecting persons with disabilities need look no further than that U.S. Airways express flight.

Albert Rizzi, who is legally blind, boarded the flight last Wednesday at about 8:30 with his service dog, Doxy – short for “Doxology,” which means “blessing.” More than an hour later the flight, which is scheduled to take only 40 minutes, still had not left the tarmac. And that is when trouble started.

Doxy, who was supposed to be stowed under a seat for takeoff, had become restless after such a long time in the cramped space. Reports conflict on whether the dog was in the aisle or stretching out under Rizzi’s feet, but in either case passengers agree he was not being disruptive. Nevertheless, a flight attendant “became aggressive,” according to Rizzi, and ordered him to get Doxy back under the seat.

A few minutes later, she had the plane return to the gate where security escorted Rizzi and Doxy from the plane.

According to the airline, Rizzi “became disruptive and refused to comply with crew member instructions,” bringing expulsion on himself. But other passengers didn’t see it that way.

“[W]hen we, the passengers, realize (sic) what was going on, we were like, ‘Why is this happening? He’s not a problem,’” fellow passenger Frank Ohlhorst told CBSNews.

In fact, Ohlhorst and about 3 dozen other passengers followed Rizzi off the plane in protest, lending credibility to his account and not that of the airline.

“All the passengers got off the plane and I was so emotionally moved by that,” Rizzi said. “I was just humbled to believe that people, 35 people, got off the plane angry and upset and yelling at management saying, ‘She needs to be fired today.’”

All of the passengers travelled to Long Island by bus, leaving the airline to cancel the flight and open an investigation into Rizzi’s treatment.

Americans, when given the chance, are the most generous people on earth. We also don’t like for anyone to push us around – and that extends to those of us with disabilities, like Albert Rizzi.

Problems still exist, and somewhere along the line there was a problem on this flight.

But we as Americans still come together, rise to the occasion, and right those wrongs ourselves in American law – without U.N. babysitters. We do not need the world’s standards for the treatment of those with disabilities – especially so many standards incompatible with the U.S. Constitution.

We adopted the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and other landmark rights legislation before the CRPD was ever written – laws that reflect the same passion to stand up for one another that these passengers displayed. Unlike the CRPD, these laws were passed by Americans for Americans and are compatible with our Constitution. They are also still recognized as “the gold standard” in disability rights.

The standards we set for ourselves always have been and continue to be higher than the U.N.’s standards. This abandoned flight only goes to prove that isn’t about to change.

Action Items

Call your senators again and urge them to vote No on ratifying the CRPD. You can reach them through the Capitol Switchboard (202-224-3121) or find their direct numbers by clicking on your state at ParentalRights.org/States and scrolling down.

You can use any of the many talking points we have made available at ParentalRights.org/crpd, or just tell them the following:

I urge the Senator to vote “No” on ratifying the CRPD. We set the gold standard in disability law without the UN’s help, and we can continue to improve that standard without giving up our principles of self-government. Americans have repeatedly shown our generosity and respect for our fellow man, and I believe we can continue to do that without international babysitters. Ultimately, U.S. domestic policy should be decided in the halls of Congress, not at the U.N.

If you would prefer to send an email, an email service is available through Conservative Action Alerts that will let you send your message with a few clicks.

Thank you for taking the time once again to stand up for our American principles of self-government and respect for those with disabilities.

Sincerely,

Obama gets BOOED at the basketball: Crowd jeers First Family as they take courtside seats at college game

Blocking it all out: President Barack Obama puts his hands in his ears. He was greeted by boos from a basketball team in Oregon

His approval ratings are at an all time low, and there is no getting away from it for the President.

An Oregon basketball crowd greeted Barack Obama and the first family with boos last night as they watched Oregon State take on the University of Maryland.

It's a yearly ritual for the Obama family to watch the Oregon State Beavers play a Washington-area team because Michelle's brother Craig Robinson coaches the men's team.

And while some fans cheered for the President as he took his seat, the leader of the free world put his hands his ears amid competing boos.
