Dumb, Dumb and Dumber: FBI Agent Almost Shoots Cop During Staged Robbery

Obama's Africa Trip Could Cost $100 Million

President Barack Obama's trip to Africa later this month could be one of the most expensive of his tenure, costing the government as much as $100 million.

According to a confidential internal planning document obtained by The Washington Post, hundreds of Secret Service agents will be dispatched to secure facilities in Senegal, South Africa, and Tanzania, which the first family will visit from June 26 to July 3.

A Navy aircraft carrier or amphibious ship, with a fully staffed medical trauma center, will be stationed offshore in case of an emergency.

In addition, military cargo planes will airlift in 56 support vehicles, including 14 limousines and three trucks carrying bulletproof glass to cover the windows of the hotels where the Obamas will stay. And fighter jets will fly in shifts to provide around the clock coverage over the president's airspace.

The president and first lady Michelle Obama also had planned to take a Tanzanian safari during the trip, which would have required a special counterassault team to carry sniper rifles in the event of a threat from wild animals, the Post reported, citing the document.

But the safari was canceled in favor of a trip to Robben Island off the coast of Cape Town, South Africa, where Nelson Mandela was held as a political prisoner, officials told the newspaper.

Christie Walrus Snubs Faith & Freedom Conference

Image: Christie Snubs Faith & Freedom Conference

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is conspicuously absent from this year's Faith & Freedom Coalition "Road to Majority" Conference in Washington, where conservatives have gathered to hear from most of the Republican Party's potential 2016 presidential contenders.

But according to The Washington Post, Christie apparently opted for a less conservative crowd Friday in Chicago, where he's attending the Clinton Global Initiative, a decision the Post said "could sting him down the road" with political right Republicans, who are already upset with the close relationship he's established with President Barack Obama in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

Now, as he takes the stage with former President Bill Clinton in Chicago for what's billed as a "Conversation on Leadership," some in the party are wondering if Christie really understands what it takes to win the Republican presidential nomination. He can't do it by wooing Democratic voters.

"Vote No": Campaign against every Congressman and Senator who votes for intervention in Syria

00 NO Western Intervention in Syria. 08.12

Hey guys, I’d like to start a “Vote NO!” campaign. Let’s let our “leadership” know that we plan to campaign against ever Congressman and Senator who votes to fund intervention in or support of the anti-Assad government in Syria. We all know the chemical weapons story is a lie to distract the sheeple from all the administration's scandals. If we start writing letters to our “leadership” they will pay attention. My letter is attached. Use mine or make up one of your own. This s--- works. It was the 50+ year olds threatening to vote Nixon out of office that got that war stopped. Maybe we save a few of our kids, brothers, sisters or just plain old GIs.

Have a great weekend.

Thanks

Clay

Dear Honorable Senator Burr,

Thank you for your letter regarding allowing individual states to tax internet sales as they choose. Your points are well taken, but I would think that a US Senator with access to accurate information about the state of the US economy would take a broader view. When the country is in a no growth economic situation, it seems prudent not to be advocating any legislation that promotes more taxation. Kicking it over the aisle into the House and claiming it's their call is further non-statesmanship in my view.

I'd like to let you know that there is an issue you might want to think long and hard about. Many Americans today are fully aware of the US involvement in the bloodbath in Syria. We understand the implications and that our young men and women could be called to go there as time goes by. Claims by the current administration that the Syrian government has used chemical weapons on their own soil are ludicrous and we both know it.

Please be aware that there is a growing grass roots movement called "Vote NO" in our area. We plan to expand it to a nation-wide audience by the end of the year.

Vote NO will advocate removing every Congressman and Senator running for office in 2014 that votes "yes" for the intervention in Syria by US troops or the funding of any weapons or logistic support offered to the anti-Assad forces in Syria.

We plan to initially penetrate the alternative media, followed by a bumper sticker and bandit sign campaign that speaks in general terms about the US attempts at regime change in Syria. Finally, as the campaign season swings into full stride we will buy advertising space that specifically targets Congressmen and Senators who have supported the funding of another intervention in the middle east with emphasis for action on those running for re-election.

I would respectfully request your support and assure you the resources are available and underway toward making "Vote No" happen. I do hope we don't see your name on our campaign materials come 2014.

Very sincerely yours,

Clayton -----

Vox writing back to a young female engineer

AA inquires concerning some inexplicable views that she finds both contradictory and insulting:

Dear Sir,

I don't think you'll answer me, or read my message... But this is worth a try. I will try very hard to keep polite about all this. It will be difficult, but I'll try.

See, I'm a young woman. I'm currently 20 years old and a student in environmental engineering in one of the best engineering schools in the world. I got in fair and square. I didn't get a special grant for being female or any favors. I have to work my butt off to get good grades in fluid mechanics, calculus, environmental chemistry...

I have had the opportunity to read some of the posts you've written in your blog and I feel very insulted by them. What happened to you that made your brain go this wrong? How can you claim that women's rights are wrong? You defend forbidding abortion by claiming unborn children of rape merit all "the legal protections and rights afforded all other human beings", yet claim that women shouldn't have those same rights because we "ruin everything"?

I am working hard to be an engineer. My goal in life isn't to get married or to stay at home and take care of the children. I am not here on this planet to serve a man and raise his children. I have my own goals and my own motivations.

I would continue, but I have finals to prepare and I've lost enough of my time on you already.

I would wish you a nice day, but it would be a lie.
Dear AA,

First of all, as a young woman studying engineering, you have very likely been granted special favors whether you know it or not.  All those programs designed to encourage young women like you to pursue a career in engineering exist for a reason.  And the reason is that most women just don't enjoy engineering the way men do.  You're obviously smart, you can do the schoolwork, but it is unlikely that you will want to do the real thing for very long.  Assuming you don't drop out in favor of an easier discipline before you graduate, the probabilities indicate that you won't spend much time actually working as an engineer; you'll soon be moved into some sort of management or marketing position.  Whether you have been told as much or not, that is the conventional path for smart, educated women like you in the corporate world.

There is no shame in that.  I started out in engineering myself.  I had the ability, but not the aptitude, and quickly switched to a field I vastly preferred.  If you're smart enough, you'll likely figure that out before long. Whatever you do, don't waste your life doing something you don't really enjoy simply because you are capable of doing it.  Remember that actual engineering is very, very different than studying engineering, and being very good at the latter is not necessarily indicative of real interest in the former.

Now I'm going to teach you a hard, but very important lesson.  You see, I don't care how you feel.  I really don't.  More importantly, neither does anyone else.  Only about 200 people on a planet of 7 billion actually care about your feelings, and that's if you're lucky.  The sooner you grasp this lesson, the better off you will be.  And since almost no one gives a damn what you do, say, think, or feel, appealing to your feelings when you encounter differences of opinion is not only illogical, but useless.

We Know More about NSA Whistleblower Edward Snowden in 48 hours than Barack Obama in 6 Years

Via Horace

Ain't that the truth.:)

Last night on Mark Levin’s radio program he made a stunning statement which hit home more than any news item or “shocking” revelation about all of the scandals combined relating to the past year and to be quite honest I do not think he realized the impact of his words (paraphrased):
“We know more about Edward Snowden than we do Barack Obama.”
Guess what?

He is 100% correct.

On June 11th, just about 24 hours ago, NBC News an unofficial division of the U.S. Department of Propaganda published the following article on their website:

What we know about NSA leaker Edward Snowden

Let’s take a moment and do some side by side comparisons using the story linked above and a story from the Western Center for Journalism titled “The Mystery of Barack Obama Continues.”

On Mr. Snowden’s background, NBC reports the following:
Born June 21, 1983, he grew up in Wilmington, N.C., but later moved to Ellicott City, Md., he told The Guardian. His mother, Wendy, is the chief deputy clerk for administration and information technology at the federal court in Baltimore, a court official told NBC News. His father, Lonnie, is a former Coast Guard officer who lives in Pennsylvania, the Allentown Morning Call reported. A neighbor said he has an older sister who is an attorney.

FBI hasn’t contacted a single tea party group in IRS probe & FBI Director Doesn't Know Who Lead Investigator in IRS Case Is

Via avordvet

There is no evidence that the FBI has contacted a single tea party group in its criminal investigation of the Internal Revenue Service, according to the groups the IRS abused.
“We have not been contacted by any federal investigative agency and, to date, none of our clients have been contacted or interviewed by the FBI,” Jay Sekulow of the American Center for Law and Justice told The Daily Caller on Thursday. The ACLJ has filed suit against the IRS on behalf of 25 conservative groups, with additional groups being added in the next couple weeks, according to a spokesman.

Amnesty Is Not Amnesty? Spare Us the Political Double-Talk Please.

Mike Scruggs

Most politicians who favor amnesty are reluctant to call it amnesty. Some definitions are needed to help see through the political hogwash. Here is a definition of U.S. immigration law amnesty:

A pardon for illegal immigrant entry or visa violations and/or willful false or misleading representations or willful concealment of a material fact regarding immigration entry and visas.

Forgoing the penalty for illegal entry is amnesty; granting a path to citizenship is not necessary for amnesty to be amnesty.

You cannot separate, however, this definition of amnesty from the normal penalty for illegal entry. I have tried to summarize the penalties described in USC Title 8 Paragraph 1325 below:

Deportation, with a 3-10 year bar against reentry, up to six months in prison (first offense), and fines (complex elaboration in Title 18) Penalties can be increased for identity theft or fraud (false or stolen social security numbers), and tax evasion or fraud.

Meanwhile let me ask those who believe illegal immigrant workers have only violated border entry or visa laws a very relevant question. What percentage of illegal immigrant workers have not committed identity theft, identity fraud (including using a bogus or stolen social security number) or tax evasion?  An American citizen would probably face prison and heavy fines for committing such felonies. The Federal penalty for identity theft is 3-7 years in prison. Most states have $50,000 to $100,000 fines as well.

So nominal fines of a few hundred or even several thousand dollars and paying some back-taxes, or learning English, or taking some driving lessons or courses are not sufficient to change amnesty from being amnesty, no matter, whether you call it earned legalization, or some other evasive euphemism. Trying to fool the public into thinking amnesty is not really amnesty is not exemplary ethical politics.

A short and easy summary is that if unlawful immigrants are not deported and prohibited from reentry for at least three years, amnesty remains amnesty.

Another extremely important fact is that amnesties and lax law enforcement encourage more illegal immigration. Judging from the 1986 amnesty, you can expect two to three more illegal immigrants over a 10-20 year period for every amnesty given. Now if you make it even more inviting, safer, and more comfortable to live in the U.S. as an illegal immigrant—what I call Red Carpet treatment for illegal immigrants—then you are asking for a tidal wave of new illegal immigration and all the problems and costs that go with it.

Yet there is a bill in the North Carolina House of Representatives, H786, the Reclaim NC Act, that is supposed to be an enforcement bill, yet it has a provision (Section 9) to give “drivers’ permits” to illegal immigrants. This seems to me to be a pretty transparent special interest bill to attract more cheap foreign labor. Unfortunately, this always comes at a high price to American workers, taxpayers, and communities. It is essentially an indirect stealth subsidy to employers of low-paid illegal immigrant workers.

The sponsors of the bill claim that providing drivers’ permits to unlawful immigrants will increase public safety by knowing the identity of the illegals and giving them driver training. This is a serious logical error.  First of all, it makes U.S and North Carolina laws a farce, when illegal immigrants are not prosecuted but given driving permits to allow them to be more comfortable. Degrading respect for law is never a cultural or economic advance. Since illegal immigrants have a DWI accident rate more than twice the general North Carolina population, it is unlikely that any improvement from the driving training is going to offset the higher overall DWI rate resulting from attracting more illegal immigrants to North Carolina. If you were an illegal immigrant, would you come to North Carolina, which would give you a drivers’ permit and make you safer from deportation or would you go to South Carolina or Georgia where no such red carpet welcome wagon treatment was available to you. It is only common sense; the driver’s permit provision will be a magnet attracting more illegal immigrants.

Illegal immigrants may be cheap labor for their users, but the cost of Federal, State, and local government services and benefits to taxpayers is enormous. A May 2013 study by the Heritage Foundation put this cost burden at $14, 387 per unlawful immigrant household per year after taxes contributed. This figure will rise to $28,000 per year when granted permanent residence (Green Card) status and full benefit eligibility.  As economist Milton Friedman observed; “You can’t have a welfare state and high immigration levels.” Importing poverty leads to big taxes and more poverty. Cheap foreign labor competition is also depressing the wages of American workers approximately $2,800 per year.

As far as knowing who is here, Section 8 of the bill completely contradicts this bogus excuse for Section 9. Section 8 weakens the E-Verify identity check.

Both Sections 8 and 9 of the bill are blatant favors to special interest users of cheap illegal immigrant labor that will hurt North Carolina workers, families, taxpayers, and communities. They should be scrapped or the whole bill should be killed.

This Republican sponsored bill is particularly embarrassing to me as a former Republican County Chairman. Most grassroots Republicans want good government. Good government is not serving big business cheap labor lobbies at the expense of most North Carolina workers and taxpayers in the name of free enterprise. Grassroots Republicans are not going to work their hearts out to help special interest owned politicians. Neither are Republicans going to hold on to their General Assembly majorities if they do not act in behalf of all North Carolinians. Free enterprise and free economy, yes, but for ordinary working people, too. Big business special interest legislation will not build a better North Carolina.

Nevada's Governor Vetoes Universal Background Checks!

While Biden set to jumpstart push for gun control next week

“One of the few who do know what they are doing is Gun Owners of America and Larry Pratt.” -- Peter Moss, “Who is Winning the Gun War?” AmmoLand, June 5, 2013

Stunning victory for gun rights in Nevada!

You guys did a tremendous job bombarding Governor Brian Sandoval’s office with phone calls, and he has listened to your appeals.

Governor Sandoval vetoed the Universal Background Check bill yesterday, and now, the anti-gun Left is in full-mourning.

The Associated Press reports that, “It is a significant defeat for New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's gun control advocacy group, Mayors Against Illegal Guns [MAIG]. The organization spent hundreds of thousands of dollars working to get the bill passed through to the governor.”

Despite Bloomberg’s fortune, his anti-gun MAIG simply doesn’t have the grassroots behind it.

GOA was joined by other groups on Tuesday, June 4, in asking Nevada gun owners to urge Sandoval to veto the legislation.

The next day, reports the Las Vegas Review-Journal, “2,200 people called his office between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m....  Four out of five calls [were] for the veto.”

According to the Journal, this onslaught was one of the chief reasons that the Governor set up a hotline number.  His office simply couldn’t get work done as they were being “bombarded by calls from people who want the governor to veto the gun control bill passed by the Legislature.”

Once the Governor set up a hotline number -- and Bloomberg started running ads urging people nationwide to call it -- GOA urged gun owners nationwide (last Friday) to call Sandoval’s office.

As of this past Tuesday, more than 100,000 calls had already been placed to the Governor.  And this just underscores how important it is for gun owners to join GOA’s email service.

Every new person you encourage to sign up for our free email alerts or for a new GOA membership gives us a louder voice in Washington and in states across the country!

The Governor was inclined to veto the gun control bill all along, but gun owners can be sure that -- had the poll results gone the other way -- he could have been easily persuaded to bow to Bloomberg’s pressure.

Nevada is a key state as it is home to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D) and to “swing vote” Senator Dean Heller (R).  Defeating Universal Background Checks in the Silver State -- with overwhelming numbers of callers opposing it -- sends a powerful message from a Purple State, that Americans do NOT want additional gun control!

Thanks to everyone who emailed our alerts ... who made phone calls ... and who registered their opinion with the Governor’s office.

Your activism makes a difference ... and your continued support helps keep us in the fight.

Double-barrel Joe Biden set to jumpstart push for gun control

Meanwhile, at the national level, the Vice President is planning an event where he will push gun control next week.

While he’s keeping the details of the event hush-hush, Biden said, “I personally haven’t given up [efforts at gun control], nor has the President.”

GOA will keep you posted on all the latest news and efforts in Washington to restrict our gun rights.

Thanks again for your support.  And remember:

Video Game Casts Tea Party and Patriot Groups as Enemy Terrorists

Via Marquis

Magazine article literally asks, “Do you have what it takes to pull the trigger on a fellow citizen?”

The latest installment of the popular Rainbow Six video game franchise casts Americans fed up with government corruption and banker domination as domestic terrorists intent on carrying out killings and bombings, yet another startling indication of how media is influencing the public to accept protesters and people generally upset with the way their government is being run as the new terrorist threat.

“In Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Patriots, Team Rainbow faces a new and very real threat called the ‘True Patriots,’ a highly-trained, well-organized revolutionary group that claim the American government is irrevocably corrupted by greedy politicians and corporate special interests. The True Patriots will do whatever it takes to reclaim their country,” Ubisoft’s description of the game states.

The description goes on to label members of the fictitious movement as the “new breed of terrorists,” stating, “…players will face critical scenarios that will require them to make tough ethical decisions in order to stop this new breed of terrorists.”

IT IS NONE OF OUR BUSINESS! White House says Syria used chemical weapons, crossing line

 http://www.heinemann.com/shared/covers/32500444.jpg

The White House said Thursday it would send military assistance to the Syrian opposition after concluding that Bashar Assad has crossed President Obama's so-called red line on chemical weapons.

Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communications Ben Rhodes told reporters the president has ruled out putting U.S. boots on the ground however and remains unconvinced that a no-fly zone to protect rebel-held areas is workable.

Rhodes did not make it clear what types of military assistance would be provided and did not use the word "weapons" when asked directly whether arms would be delivered to rebel groups.
