NC: Gun-toting granny loves to hunt at ripe old age of 98

Katie Watson is a 98-year-old woman who still loves to hunt - 88 years after hunting her first rabbit.

Katie Watson has been bagging deer, turkeys, quails and rabbits since she was just 10 years old. Now 88 years later, the near-centenarian is still a force to be reckoned with as she flawlessly shoots bottles and cans from her North Carolina backyard.

Even at the ripe old age of 98, Katie Watson is a force to be reckoned with when she is locked and loaded.
The near-centenarian in Gold Hill, N.C., who shot a deer as big as she is just last week, has been bagging turkeys, deer, quails and rabbits since she was just 10 years old.

"How many men still hunt when they're 97?" she teasingly asked WBTV during a recent interview at her home, which bears taxidermy displays.

  1. Inspiring. I hope I can do even a fraction as well when I reach that age. I hope she's still going strong at 120.
