Bill de Blasio On Horse-Drawn Carriage Industry: "It's Over"

Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio vowed to act quickly to abolish horse-drawn carriages in the city.

"We are going to get rid of the horse carriages. Period,” de Blasio said in response to a question at his press conference announcing his schools chancellor pick Monday.

“It’s over,” he said.

Dem bill would end death penalty for federal law

Dated

Rep. Donna Edwards (D-Md.) and seven other Democrats have proposed legislation that would eliminate the possibility of imposing the death penalty for a range of federal offenses, including several categories of murder and crimes against the government like treason and espionage.

The Federal Death Penalty Abolition Act, H.R. 3741, would end the death penalty for assassination or kidnapping that results in the death of the president or vice president, and also ends it for the murder of a member of Congress.

Under the bill, the death penalty could no longer be used to punish people for using a weapon of mass destruction, or murder done via torture, child abuse, war crimes, aircraft hijackings, sexual abuse, bank robberies or the willful wrecking of a train.

Police forbid Connecticut gun activist from ‘soliciting’ on DESPP grounds

In addtion to banning guns on premises, DESPP headquarters is also evidently a First Amendment-free zone.

An officer of a Constitution State gun rights group says he was ordered Tuesday morning to stop passing out business cards to gun owners waiting in line to register guns and magazines in compliance with a new state law. Lenny Benedetto, a founding member and Vice President of the Connecticut Citizens Defense League, says he was threatened with arrest outside the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection in Middletown if he continued inviting those in the queue to learn more about his organization and how they could join and support the group’s lawsuit against the new law.

Why Obamacare Will Only Get Less Popular

 http://legalinsurrection.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Obamacare-Burning-589x442.jpg

Lisa Myers has an excellent investigative reporting piece up at NBC News documenting how one small business is dealing with Obamacare. The quotes from the article are just brutal:
The 41 employees of Extreme Dodge in Jackson, Mich., are very familiar with trade-ins, but this year they’re learning about trade-offs as they come face to face with the new realities of health care. A few workers say they’re getting a great deal, but most have a severe case of sticker shock.
“I feel like I’ve been taken to the cleaners,” said Neal Campbell, a salesman.
...
“How is this helping the average American that’s working 40 to 50 hours per week?” said Terry Hardcastle, a salesperson. “How are we supposed to live?”
Cathy Smith, who’d hoped she’d qualify for a subsidy and made just a little too much money, had tears in her eyes. "You don't make that much money to begin with,” she said, “and the prescriptions are going to kill me."
...
"There are some people who do come out ahead, but I would say the overwhelming majority, they’re paying much higher rates and they have lower benefits.”
...
Among the hardest hit is Campbell, a salesman with a wife and three young children, all of whom are active in athletics. The premium payments currently deducted weekly from his paycheck will increase $77, to a total of $221 per week. “That’s a huge part of the budget,” he said. “We feel betrayed, lied to, and we're pissed off.”

Va Flaggers: 2013 Year In Review

As we approach the end of 2013, the Virginia Flaggers look back with awe and amazement on what has been a phenomenal year, and with sincerest appreciation for each person whose support and encouragement has made it possible.  Like MANY of you, our folks have been busy, and we want to share just a glimpse of what we have been up to…

For the second year, the Va Flaggers led two days of Flagging in Lexington, VA, in January, to protest the City Council’s discriminatory flag ban, and honor Lee & Jackson on the State holiday.  As in 2012, we sponsored a banner plane, which circled the town during the events on Saturday, and participated in the parade and memorial services.

That same month, Va Flagger TriPp Lewis was arrested for carrying a Confederate Flag on Confederate Memorial Park, on the grounds of the Old Soldiers’ Home in Richmond.  Tripp was carrying the flag as a tribute to his ancestor on the day marking the anniversary of his admittance into the home.  A groundswell of support brought in funds to pay his legal fees, and all criminal charges were dismissed in August.  This laid the groundwork for Civil action, which is currently pending, and will serve to address the ongoing violations of constitutional rights and continued desecration of the Confederate Memorial Chapel and Confederate Memorial Park by the VMFA.

Throughout the year, our ongoing vigil at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts continued.  EVERY WEEK, TWICE A WEEK, members of the Va Flaggers gathered to forward the colors and protest the forced removal of Confederate Flags from the Confederate Memorial Chapel.  Started in October of 2011, we could never have imagined that what we do there every week would make such a difference.  Each week, we see the fruits of our efforts, as we change hearts and minds, and change the landscape in Richmond.   By our records, our Flaggers logged over 3,000 hours of flagging  at the VMFA alone,  in 2013.  This front, on the sidewalk of the Boulevard, is only one of many which we are pursuing in the battle to RETURN the flags and RESTORE the honor to the Chapel.

In August, news of the sellout of the Museum of the Confederacy meant we added its Richmond location to our flagging schedule, and we have maintained a presence ever since, reminding museum officials that there are those of us who do not take kindly to seeing our heritage and history sold to the highest bidder, and to let visitors and guests know of the shenanigans taking place.

Susan had the pleasure of speaking at dozens of SCV meetings, and even her first UDC speaking engagement, as she traveled to 9 states during the year, sharing information about heritage defense and encouraging others to take a stand for their ancestors. In April, she was especially honored to speak at the raising of the World’s Largest Third National Flag in Tampa.

In July, she was pleased to attend the SCV National Reunion in Vicksburg, where she was well received and thrilled to meet so many friends and supporters.  The highlight of the trip was receiving  heritage defense awards on behalf of many of the Va Flaggers, and the news that Susan was awarded the Stephen Dill Lee award, the highest award offered to a non-SCV member by the SCV.

Throughout the year, Flaggers attended dozens of memorial services, including traveling to Point Lookout for the Annual Pilgrimage, and to Sharpsburg for the Memorial Illumination, as well as many, many other local and nearby events.  We saw the formation of other flagging groups across the South, and have assisted with their organization and activities as much as possible, and have lent a hand with other heritage defense issues when help was requested.  We also were and are active in clean-up projects in several local cemeteries, and were proud to facilitate the return of the Robert E. Lee signage to the bridge in Richmond that is named in his honor, which had been missing for some time.

In early August, and in order to raise necessary funds, we announced plans for a Battle Flag Memorial on I-95 near Chester.  Picked up almost immediately by a few liberal news outlets, the intense media publicity and scrutiny that ensued over the next months surprised even the most seasoned heritage defense veterans.

We unveiled the 15x15 ANV Battle Flag on the steps of the Capitol in Richmond, and the breathtaking photo from that moment, along with the historical information of the birth of the CBF, quickly became viral, and was widely circulated in social media and by news agencies.

In the end, all of the media attention served to bring us more support than we ever imagined, and on September 28th, in spite of those who said it would never happen,  a 15x15 ANV Battle Flag was triumphantly raised on I-95 in Chester to a crowd of 300+ with absolutely no protests or problems… and still flies today… a living, breathing memorial to the Confederate Soldier.

For several months, almost daily, the local paper’s editorial page carried an opinion piece about the flag, one way or the other, and has opened the door for many discussions about our heritage.  There was a GREAT piece published in the Wall Street Journal and we were interviewed by media outlets as far away as Great Britain.  EACH TIME we are able to get such coverage, it is a chance to get OUR MESSAGE out…that of the honor and valor of the Confederate Soldier!  A real, and very unexpected byproduct of this was that with each interview, televised news story, or published  article, the spotlight once again was focused on the VMFA and the desecration of the Confederate Memorial Chapel, giving us new platforms to expose their misconduct,  and new support for our efforts there.

Since the flag was raised, we have been contacted by many people with land adjacent to I-95, and other interstates, who are looking to be a part of future projects.  We are looking forward to seeing these projects continue across Virginia and beyond, as land and funds are made available.

The Va Flaggers look back on 2013 and are overwhelmed at all that was accomplished, and overcome with gratitude for each and every person who gave of their time, talents, and resources to make it happen.  As much as we have to be thankful for, we look forward to 2014 with even more excitement and hope that with the blessings of our Creator, and the cheering on of a great cloud of witnesses, 2014 will be the year that the flags will be returned to the Confederate Memorial Chapel, and that Southerners across Virginia and beyond decided to take a stand for our Confederate Heritage, and push back against those who would desecrate our memorials and dishonor the memory of our Confederate dead.

We have only just begun to fight…will you join us?

BEST WISHES FOR A SAFE, HAPPY, AND VERY CONFEDERATE NEW YEAR!

70-year-old beaten while trying to slow neighborhood cars

http://www.wtsp.com/images/300/169/2/assetpool/images/131229104929_James-Gorman.jpg

A 70-year-old man pushing his wife in a wheelchair with his granddaughter by his side says he was beaten for trying to slow a car down in his neighborhood.

It happened around 6:00 p.m. Friday night along 60th Ave. Drive West in Bradenton.

All James Gorman wanted was for a car speeding down the road to slow down. That car ended up stopping, and what happened next would end up putting James Gorman in the hospital.

"That's a thumb in the eyeball," says James Gorman, who lives in West Bradenton.

Gorman's black eye is just the start. He has a torn rotator cuff, broken glasses, and pounding headaches.

Paramedic races to save child, gets booted

An upstate New York volunteer emergency medical technician has been suspended after breaking the rules to drive a sick four-year-old child to the hospital in an ambulance.

Stephen Sawyer, 20, was at the rescue squad’s headquarters in Ellenville, N.Y., with another EMT and an ambulance driver, when a call came in about a child having seizures.

A paramedic already at the child’s home asked for an ambulance, reports New York’s Times Herald-Record.

Two minutes later, another call came in about an elderly man injured in a fall. Sawyer advised the ambulance at the station to respond to that call, not realizing no other emergency vehicles were available to respond to the child’s home, according to the Daily Freeman.

Sawyer called four ambulance services over the next 15 minutes, but but all were busy or too far away to respond. Despite squad rules requiring ambulance drivers to be 21 years old or older, Sawyer climbed into the ambulance himself, drove the five miles to the child’s house and took the child, his mother and the paramedic to Ellenville Regional Hospital.

“I wouldn’t have been able to sleep at night or go to school knowing there’s a four-year-old suffering,” Sawyer told the newspaper.

The following Monday, he was called in front of the Ellenville squad’s seven-member board of directors and asked to explain himself.

The Pursuit of Racial Amity

 http://img2.imagesbn.com/p/9780060935931_p0_v1_s260x420.jpg

Pondering the smoking ruins of American racial policy, I wonder whether it isn’t time to say publicly what many, if not most, of both races know: It isn’t working. It isn’t going to work. If it were, it would have. If it were working, we would not need the unending laws to force the races together when they don’t want to be together. If people wanted diversity, it would happen without compulsion..

The hope that black and white would mingle amicably if only segregation were dismantled relied on a peculiarly American inattention to life and history, and on a belief that people will behave as we want them to, instead of how they observably do behave. Human nature remains human nature, no matter how hard one holds one’s breath and turns blue.

It is not an easy thing that we try to do. Frequently, far smaller disparities than those between black and white lead to bloody conflict. Catholics and Protestants, Shia and Sunni, Jew and Christian are often virtually indistinguishable, yet share a history of internecine butchery of each other.  Is there anywhere an example of two groups so large and utterly different as blacks and whites successfully merging?

Despite our best imaginings, race is far more than skin deep. The races differ wildly in culture, appearance, attitudes, views of each other, language, musical taste, dress, attitudes toward law, education, family, and the role of government.

Much of what blacks believe about whites is almost psychotic. Exceptions and degrees, yes, but the centerline remains.

Sheriff Dart’s Tirade Against Concealed Carry Highlights Antigunner Hypocrisy

 Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart

As many of you readers know, Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart recently launched an offensive against Illinois’ newly-passed concealed carry law.

Describing the new law as a “monstrosity,” Dart complained that the law is fraught with loopholes that will allow dangerous individuals to acquire carry permits.

Dart complained further that restrictions limiting access to state and federal crime databases inhibit his office’s ability to object to the issuance of carry permits to Cook County residents.

In the end, Dart threatened to seek an injunction against the issuance of carry permits to anyone in Illinois until such time that the carry law was amended to his liking.

The timing of Dart’s rant against concealed carry is rather interesting. Just days before his tirade, the “Chicago Tribune” ran a feature story exposing the failure of the Cook County Probation Department to keep track of criminals out on probation. The article details the threats posed to society by criminals left unsupervised by Cook County’s broken probation system – the most glaring of which was the murder of young Hadiya Pendleton by three-time loser Micheail Ward.

Seal Commander Says Special Operations Assault On Obama Has Begun!

Liberty Digest Last week saw US Military Special Forces be raised to the forefront of the political picture. Retired stepped up and says that the Special Operations Assault on President Obama has just begun.

Last week it seemed like your typical week in the saga of President Obama accusing Republicans of unfairly criticizing him over the Benghazi situation and leaked classified information. Trouble is, it wasn’t the pesky Republicans he should have been blaming for the attack on his presidency. It is not an unfair assessment either, considering the sources.

Ryan Zinke is a retired Navy Seal Commander. He wasn’t the commander of just any Seal Team, he was the commander of Seal Team Six. He is now a Montana State Senator and has launched his own personal finances at starting the new Super Pac, Special Operations OPSEC Education Fund Inc.

Along with the now fired Generals that say they are watching President Obama, his new organization is doing more than saying that President Obama leaked National Security information and unfairly took credit for killing Osama Bin Laden, they intend to prove it.

Businesses brace for 'serious cuts' as city enacts highest-in-nation $15 minimum wage

 http://liberallogic101.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/closed-500.jpg

As talk builds on Capitol Hill over hiking the federal minimum wage, one city in Washington state is poised to set the highest rate in the nation.

On Jan. 1, an estimated 1,600 hotel and transportation workers in SeaTac, Wash., will see their pay jump to $15 an hour, a 60 percent increase from the state's $9.32 minimum wage.

While many workers look forward to the higher pay, employers are looking for ways to absorb the big increase in labor costs. Some plan on eliminating jobs.

"We're going to be looking at making some serious cuts," said Cedarbrook Lodge General Manager Scott Ostrander. "We're going to be looking at reducing employee hours, reducing benefits and eliminating some positions."

Medal of Honor Roll Call: David C. Dolby

Citation:

For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty, when his platoon, while advancing tactically, suddenly came under intense fire from the enemy located on a ridge immediately to the front. Six members of the platoon were killed instantly and a number were wounded, including the platoon leader. Sgt. Dolby’s every move brought fire from the enemy. However, aware that the platoon leader was critically wounded, and that the platoon was in a precarious situation, Sgt. Dolby moved the wounded men to safety and deployed the remainder of the platoon to engage the enemy.

Subsequently, his dying platoon leader ordered Sgt. Dolby to withdraw the forward elements to rejoin the platoon. Despite the continuing intense enemy fire and with utter disregard for his own safety, Sgt. Dolby positioned able-bodied men to cover the withdrawal of the forward elements, assisted the wounded to the new position, and he, alone, attacked enemy positions until his ammunition was expended. Replenishing his ammunition, he returned to the area of most intense action, single-handedly killed 3 enemy machine gunners and neutralized the enemy fire, thus enabling friendly elements on the flank to advance on the enemy redoubt.

He defied the enemy fire to personally carry a seriously wounded soldier to safety where he could be treated and, returning to the forward area, he crawled through withering fire to within 50 meters of the enemy bunkers and threw smoke grenades to mark them for air strikes. Although repeatedly under fire at close range from enemy snipers and automatic weapons, Sgt. Dolby directed artillery fire on the enemy and succeeded in silencing several enemy weapons.

He remained in his exposed location until his comrades had displaced to more secure positions. His actions of unsurpassed valor during 4 hours of intense combat were a source of inspiration to his entire company, contributed significantly to the success of the overall assault on the enemy position, and were directly responsible for saving the lives of a number of his fellow soldiers. Sgt. Dolby’s heroism was in the highest tradition of the U.S. Army.

How About Nullification In 2014?

Via Billy

http://thelibertycaucus.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/nullification-forms.png

As we approach the year 2014 there are dire predictions all around about what’s coming. One I recently read said, of 2014, “More of the same, only worse.” I can understand the rationale for that. Comrade Obama will only be through half of his last (so we are told) term in office by 2014 and he has lots of damage left to do yet. His handlers over at the Council on Foreign Relations expect him to have our economy and most of the middle class totally incapacitated before he leaves office to be replaced by Ms. Hitlery Clinton in 2016. If he accomplishes that then Comrade Klinton will not have to work too hard to preside over the ruins of what was once America but has now become Amerika—The United Socialist States of Amerika—the “People’s Republic.”

Congress, for the most part, with a few exceptions, is bought and paid for by the same crowd that pulls Comrade Obama’s puppet strings, so you can’t expect much help there. The Supreme Court justices, most of which are so concerned how future generations of socialists will view them, will be no help to ordinary Americans (remember their vote on Obamacare?).

The whole thing has been set up so that most Americans will be so beset by the futility of what they see around them that they will just cave in and offer no resistance to the One World government crowd.

art-link-symbol-small-rev01.jpg  Most drones are equipped with night vision, and/or infrared vision camera's, so-called FLIR sensors. These can see human heat signatures from far away, day or night. However there are ways to hide from drones.
•  Day camouflage: Hide in the shadows of buildings or trees. Use thick forests as natural camouflage or use camouflage nets.
•  Night camouflage: hide inside buildings or under protection of trees or foliage. Do not use flashlights or vehicle spot lights, even at long distances. Drones can easily spot this during night missions.
•  Heat camouflage: Emergency blankets (so-called space blankets) made of Mylar can block infrared rays. Wearing a space blanket as a poncho at night will hide your heat signature from infrared detection. Also in summer when the temperature is between 36°C and 40°C (97°F to 104°F), infrared camera's cannot distinguish between body and its surroundings.
•  Wait for bad weather. Drones cannot operate in high winds, smoke, rainstorms or heavy weather conditions.
•  No wireless communication. Using mobile phones or GPS based communication will possibly compromise your location.
•  Spreading reflective pieces of glass or mirrored material on a car on a roof will confuse the drone's camera.
•  Decoys. Use mannequins or human-sized dolls to mislead the drone's reconnaissance.

The Pacific, the follow-up to Band of Brothers, will focus on the US Marines in the Pacific Theater of the war.

The below collection focuses on The Pacific War, a term referring to parts of World War II that took place in the Pacific Ocean, the islands of the Pacific and the Far East. The start of The Pacific War is generally considered to be the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on December 7, 1941. The Pacific War pitted the Allies against the Empire of Japan and culminated with the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August of 1945, Victory over Japan Day on August 15, 1945 and the official surrender of Japan aboard the battleship U.S.S. Liberian Slave-Traders

Via Bernhard

http://img2.imagesbn.com/p/9780809095421_p0_v2_s260x420.JPG

The following is a brief excerpt (via WSJ) of a recent book review regarding Liberia, “Another America,” by James Ciment.  Like slave-leader Cinque of Amistad fame, the emancipated blacks of the US returned to Africa and the indigenous practice of what propelled them or their ancestors to the New World.
BT

“[Liberian]Settlers and their "Americo" descendants identified with the U.S. and viewed natives as savages. Natives considered Americoes rapacious and arrogant. Indeed they called them "whites," or "black-white" men, since settlers spoke English and dressed like Victorians.

One source of antagonism was the slave trade. Native tribes traded slaves among themselves and illegally with Europeans. It was a business for them, as Ciment notes, "but an abomination to the settlers, who were determined to wipe it out as soon as they had the means to do so."

And yet settlers and their Americo descendants practiced forms of exploitation that closely resembled slavery. They took native women as concubines. They adopted native children and provided them with food, shelter and schooling in exchange for work without pay. To some observers, this "ward system," as it was called, was another form of slavery. "These pawns are as much slaves as their sable prototypes in the parent states of America," wrote one white physician.

In the 1920s, Americo-Liberians were widely accused of trafficking in slaves. They leased out natives to Fernando Pó, in the Gulf of Guinea, to plant and harvest cocoa. Many died before their contracts were up, and others were never paid. The Liberian constitution prohibited slavery, but it also denied citizenship and suffrage to natives, who constituted more than 90% of Liberia's population.  In essence, Americoes tried to re-create a social order that resembled the antebellum South, with themselves as the master class.”

Mastery of Metals: Federal HST and Guard Dog Loads

I use HST in my Glock 21 and 30, but Speer LE in my .357 LCR

Through careful attention to design, Federal Premium’s engineers were able to create self-defense loads that exhibit specific characteristics sought by the two prominent streams of thought concerning personal protection. The distinctly different loads, HST and Guard Dog, will meet the needs of even the most demanding self-defense practitioner.

Currently, there are two divergent beliefs concerning defensive handgun ammunition; some armed citizens desire ammunition capable of satisfactorily completing the entire battery of barrier tests prescribed by the “FBI protocol,” whereas others want a reduced-penetration option to minimize the risk of collateral damage. Whichever is the most applicable to you, the personal-protection practitioner, depends upon your target-engagement philosophy and the circumstances in which you forecast the threat would most likely occur. Some considerations are: your definition of “self-defense,” and the actions you’re willing to take to neutralize a threat; potential barriers (both inside and outside the home, and behind which an assailant could take cover); location and proximity of family members, neighbors or bystanders; backstops (or lack thereof); and temperature/season (thin or thick garments). It’s only after carefully considering each of the aforementioned categories that you can subscribe to a specific philosophy and make an informed decision regarding the corresponding ammunition. A change in any of the categories could also dictate exchanging your defensive load. Why?

NC: 'Opinion' is irrelevant: Cities should obey (Gun) law

Twenty years spent defending gun rights have taught me leftists regard words as malleable, inventing definitions as needed to bludgeon any who dare obstruct liberal self-gratification. But even I laughed at the audacity of mischaracterizing our demand that cities comply with state law as “bullying and threatening anyone...who does not share [our] extreme opinion.”

“Opinion” is irrelevant. In passing House Bill 937, the General Assembly expanded our successful concealed handgun law into restaurants, parks, educational properties, state government parking lots and elsewhere.

Legislators didn’t fast-track HB 937 despite the Newtown tragedy, but rather because of it: All but two U.S. mass shootings since 1950 occurred in ostensibly “gun free” zones of disarmed victims. By contrast, concealed handgun laws deter murder, rape and aggravated assault. Not only was that demonstrated in controlled, multi-variate studies by John R. Lott and others, it’s happened here, where violent crime dropped 46 percent after passing concealed carry in 1995.

Trump on NY Times Benghazi Report: 'A Total Cover Up'

Image: Trump on NY Times Benghazi Report: 'A Total Cover Up'

Donald Trump all but accused The New York Times Monday of participating in a cover up of the 2012 attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi, Libya by publishing an article claiming al-Qaida was not involved and that an anti-Islam video may have contributed to the deadly assault, as the Obama administration initially claimed.

"It seems to be a total cover up," the entertainment and real estate billionaire said on "Fox & Friends" about the Times piece published over the weekend. "I read [the article] very closely. It just seems to be at odds with everything else that you've read over the last year."

Can M-16′s Defeat F-16′s In the Coming Civil War?

Via avordvet

“It is not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog”. This axiom is soon going to be put to the test in the United States.

Dr. Jim Garrow is a name you are going to be seeing a lot of in the truthful media for the foreseeable future. Garrow is a former deep cover CIA agent who has his hand on the pulse of the crises which are befalling America. What separates Dr. Garrow from many high level sources who are disgusted with the status quo, is that he is on the record and is publicly visible.

While many of the 200+ command level officers fired by Obama are informing many of us in the media about the current state of affairs, they are not on the record. Other than self-preservation, the major reason why these former military commanders are not on the record is because some of them are involved in planning a guerrilla war against the occupation forces commanded by this administration under the auspices of DHS. And this is precisely what Dr. Garrow stated on my December 22, 2013 show which you can listen to here.

He also went on to say that a coup attempt is probable and that a prolonged guerrilla civil war is likely. All of  my sources state that the coming civil war will be a guerrilla war.

Why the Coming Civil War Will Be a Guerrilla War

Army 1LT Clint Lorance: Sentenced to Prison for Protecting His Unit

1LT Clint Lorance

In August 2013 Army 1LT Clint Lorance, 28, of Celeste Texas, was found guilty of 2 counts of murder.

Lt. Lorance volunteered to serve two combat tours; 15 months in Iraq and 7 months in Afghanistan. But upon his return home, the ground combat platoon leader in the 82d Airborne Division was sentenced to 20 years in Ft. Leavenworth on two counts of murder.

What was his crime?

Allen West details on his Facebook page:

In July 2012, 1LT Lorance ordered the engagement of two Taliban scouts who were tracking his platoon’s movements while on a patrol in Kandahar province, a platoon that had recently experienced losses, including the previous Platoon Leader.
According to our ridiculous Rules of Engagement, soldiers in a combat zone are told to hold their fire unless there is evidence of hostile action or direct hostile intent.

I spent two and a half years in southern Afghanistan, and we all knew the Taliban utilized fighters on motorcycles and cell phones as scout/trackers. If there are enemy combatants reporting your patrol movements in order to facilitate an attack, how is that not hostile intent?

CPT William Miller, the government prosecutor, said 1LT Lorance “used his rank and position to harass, intimidate, threaten, and murder Afghans.”

What an incredible dilemma for our men and women in combat: fight and kill the enemy and be sent to prison. Or be killed by the enemy and be denied your death gratuity benefits.

This is utter BS and I implore true Americans, and veterans, to melt down the White House, DoD, and Department of the Army phone lines and email.

Knockout: Victims of brutal Downtown Mall assault want arrests, and answers from police

Knockout: Victims of brutal Downtown Mall assault want arrests, and answers from police

Gee, I can't imagine why they didn't release the photos........

A couple’s late night stroll on the Christmas-lit Downtown Mall turned to terror in the early morning hours of Friday, December 20, when they were brutally assaulted by three men in what appears to have been a random act of violence.

Even though one of the victims, Jeanne Doucette, managed to take photos that appear to show the assailants as they kicked and pummeled her boyfriend Marc Adams to unconsciousness, Charlottesville Police still do not have any suspects. Doucette says there were other witnesses to the crime, which allegedly occurred just outside the Wells Fargo building at around 1am as she and Adams walked from Miller’s to Rapture, and she is baffled as to why the police haven’t shared her images more widely with people who could have seen the suspects earlier in the evening.

“I cannot understand why they didn’t let people know what happened,” said Doucette, who still bore injuries from the assault when she met for an interview a week later. “Those pictures might have prompted some tips.”

Obama administration announces net loss of at least 3 million insurance plans

Obama administration announces net loss of at least 3 million insurance plans

The White House used a Sunday morning statement to admit that only 1.1 million people have used the federal Obamacare website to sign up for the president’s healthcare network by Christmas Day.

News reports and advocacy websites say roughly 1 million people have enrolled with health-benefit companies via state websites, including 400,000 in California and 157,000 in New York, by the Dec. 24 deadline, which allows coverage starting Jan. 1.

The 2 million federal and state signups are roughly two-thirds the planned goal of 3.3 million enrollments by Dec. 31. They’re also only one-third  of the 7 million customers sought by March 31.

The total reported signups are at least 3 million fewer than the 5 million people whose health-insurance policies were  cancelled prior to Christmas by President Barack Obama’s ambitious tax-and-healthcare scheme.

(Article written by Stella Burnette) Is this a well thought out plan to destroy someone who bravely comes forth exposing corruption? This is our true story. What do you think? He had many obstacles in his path but just like David versus goliath the giant, he continued to fight for American’s freedom.

He had autism and brittle diabetes but his strength of defining right from wrong made him push forward to inform other Americans what all he was learning each day. He brought out into the open important things which the rich and powerful wanted to keep hidden while they chopped away at American’s freedoms daily. We watched his constant struggles as he learned to put together professional websites self educating himself. We watched his daily battles to keep these websites up and running as someone tried to bring them down.

Brock Townsend has left a new comment on the post "UNFORTUNATE SOLDIERS: VIETNAM WAR: Men Of ARVN: Th...":

Many pictures here are just propaganda. We, the Vietnamese, know better than any others about Hue's event. That was not a mass killing by Commist but Bombing from America's troop and South VN army.
The NVA buried their dead comrades with dead civilians. As you know, NVA was not supported with uniform so most of them wore their daily outfit. Take that advantage, US propaganda that NVA revenged on Hue's civilian which is untrue in many aspects

For those of us who have been following the antics of Museum of the Confederacy President and CEO Waite Rawls since he assumed the reigns at the museum, and have repeatedly called for his removal, the sell-out of the museum to the ultra PC "American Civil War Center at Tredegar" comes as no surprise.

In 2007, Rawls made it clear that he was willing to sacrifice even the name of the institution when he announced that along with a proposed move, the name "Confederacy" was likely to disappear from the museum's title... http://www.civilwarnews.com/archive/articles/07/museumconfed.htm

"Museum President and CEO S. Waite Rawls III suggested that the name was negotiable. He told the Richmond Times-Dispatch, "The repositioning we've done over the past 30 years is to be more of a modern education institution and less of a memorial to the Confederacy."

Although the name change was delayed a few years, it appears as if he will finally get his wish to change the name...as well as the Museum's original intent... with the recent liquidation.

From the Museum of the Confederacy's website:
"Civil War Holdings, Inc. is the temporary name of the joint partnership between the American Civil War Center and the Museum of the Confederacy. When the two institutions joined forces in the fall of 2013, a new Board of Directors was created, comprising members of both former boards." Complete list here: http://www.moc.org/about-us/board-trustees

Those of us in Richmond easily recognize the name of the Chairman of the new board, Dr. Edward L. Ayers, as one who has, as a close personal friend and associate of Mr. Rawls, been allowed unrestricted access and influence at the museum.

In November of this year, Dr. Ayers was a featured speaker at the "Loving RVA" gathering in Richmond (see photo)

The main focus of this gathering was to introduce a plan to "revitalize RVA". Details of the plan are available here... http://lovingrva.com/index.html and include a "slavery and freedom heritage site" http://lovingrva.com/HeritageSite.html , but not surprisingly, NOT ONE MENTION of Richmond's rich Confederate history and heritage:

"The Revitalize RVA Plan includes a very important historical component. The Slavery and Freedom Heritage Site will be on the site of the Lumpkins Slave Jail, which is across the train trestle from the proposed commercial and residential development."

This is just ONE example of many, that leaves little doubt as to the direction of this "new museum", under the leadership of Dr. Ayers, Mr. Rawls, and Ms. Coleman.

Women of the Confederacy by Augustus Lukeman, located on the grounds of the North Carolina State Capitol, Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. Monument dedicated on June 10, 1914.

“The heroism of woman! How infinitely it surpasses that of man.

With all her gentleness, and tenderness and natural timidity, in nine cases in ten,
she has more nerve than the other sex, in times of great emergency. With a bleeding
and bursting heart, she is capable of putting on the composure, and loving serenity
of an angel, binding up the wounds of a husband or son, and when he is restored
to health and vigor, buckling on his sword anew, and returning him to the battle-field.

Glorious women of the South! What an ordeal you have passed through, and how heroically
you have stood the trying test. You lost the liberty which your husbands, sires, and sons
struggled for, but only for a period. The blood which you have infused into the veins of
future generations will yet rise up to vindicate you, and “call you blessed.”

The Case That Could Topple Obamacare

Via Billy
 AffordableCare

Dated

Obamacare may have its problems, including more bugs than you can find in the cornfields of Nebraska, but its legal worries were meant to end after the Supreme Court upheld the individual mandate, the heart of the Affordable Care Act.

Now, as the technologists charged with making healthcare.gov work report progress, lawyers are re-entering the fray. A little-heard of challenge currently making its way through the court system may represent opponents’ last best hope of, as they are fond of saying, driving a stake through the heart of the law.

It all started in 2011, when Jonathan H. Adler, a conservative law professor at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio, shot an email to his friend Michael Cannon, a health policy expert at the libertarian Cato Institute in Washington, D.C. Adler thought he had spotted an error in Obamacare that could unravel a significant portion of the law.

Obama: Descendant Of Slave Owners

Via Billy

 Slave Trade

Barack Hussein Obama, is an eloquently tailored empty suit. No resume, no accomplishments, no experience, no original ideas, no understanding of how the economy works, no understanding of how the world works, no balls, nothing but abstract, empty rhetoric devoid of real substance.

He has no real identity. He is half-white, which he rejects. The rest of him is mostly Arab, which he hides but is disclosed by his non-African Arabic surname and his Arabic first and middle names as a way to triply proclaim his Arabic parentage to people in Kenya . Only a small part of him is African Black from his Luo grandmother, which he portends he is exclusively.

What he isn’t, not a genetic drop of, is ‘African-American,’ the descendant of enslaved Africans brought to America chained in slave ships.

Dated.  Can't believe I missed it.

LANGUAGE!

"I'm a good judge" … said by government employee and judge Gisele Pollack who, it seems, sentenced people to jail because of their drug use…while she, herself, was high on drugs.

But, in her defense, "she’s had some severe personal tragedy in her life".
And that's why, it seems, she's being allowed to check herself into rehab instead of being thrown in jail.

…because not a single poor person or non government employee who gets caught using drugs ever "had some severe personal tragedy in her life".

I'm reminded of something I read earlier today:
techdirt.com
We've discussed the whole "high court/low court" concept here a few times before — in that those who are powerful play by one set of rules, while the rest of us have to play by a very different set of rules.

The end result seems clear. If you're super high up in the political chain, you get the high court. Reveal classified info to filmmakers? No worries. Not only will you not be prosecuted or even lose your job, the inspectors will scrub your name from the report and, according to the article, the person in charge of the investigation will "slow roll" the eventual release of the report until you switch jobs.
But if you're just a worker bee and you leaked the unclassified draft report that names Panetta and Vickers? Well, you get the low court. A new investigation, including aggressive pursuit by the government, and interrogations of staffers to try to find out who leaked the report.
Twenty years ago I was a libertarian. I thought the system could be reformed. I thought that some parts of it "worked"… whatever that means. I thought that the goals were noble, even if not often achieved.

The older I get, the more I see, the more I read, the more clear it becomes to me that the entire game is rigged.

WWII Veteran: 90% of Congress Are Traitors To Our Country

World War II Airborne combat veteran Warenn (Renn) Bodeker, from Plains, Montana gives us an important message from his past experiences. Renn is a member of Oath Keepers, a non-partisan association of current and formerly serving military, police, and first responders who pledge to fulfill the oath all military and police take to “defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

That oath, mandated by Article VI of the Constitution itself, is to the Constitution, not to the politicians, and Oath Keepers declare that they will not obey unconstitutional orders, such as orders to disarm the American people, to conduct warrantless searches, or to detain Americans as “enemy combatants” in violation of their ancient right to jury trial.

Je$$e Jack$on: Phil Robertson Was Flaunting His “White Privilege”

The race-baiters had to get a piece of the action too. They couldn’t just let the tolerant, nonjudgmental, happy rainbow people soak up all the spotlight. Somehow, they had to make it sound like Phil Robertson’s comments about homosexuality and other forms of immorality and perversion weren’t exclusively “anti-gay,” but were also racist. So racist, that Phil Robertson is now worse than Rosa Parks’ bus driver.

From ABC News:

Mike Rogers, King Blast NYT Benghazi Report: 'Misleading'

 http://images.sodahead.com/polls/003938943/blood-119681188383_xlarge.jpeg

Two of the House’s top experts on terrorism blasted a New York Times report that says al-Qaida did not carry out the 2012 attack on the U.S diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya.

The Times report, published Saturday and based on numerous interviews with Islamists in Benghazi, concludes that there was no evidence that al-Qaida or any other international terrorist groups had any role in the assault that killed four Americans on September 11, 2012.

Instead, the Times reports that the attack was fueled in large part by anger at an American-made anti-Islamic video, as the Obama administration first claimed. The attackers were entirely locally based Islamist malcontents with few if any contacts outside of Libya.

But New York Rep. Peter King, member and former chairman of the House’s Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, told Fox News that the story’s premise that other anti-American militias led the attack is at best academic.

“It’s misleading,” King said. “It’s a distinction without a difference.” King specifically challenged the notion in the Times piece that the Libya-based terror group Ansar al-Shariah somehow was not part of the al-Qaida Islamist network.
