Coroner: elderly woman dies in gun battle, shoots suspect

 Deputies investigate deadly shooting in Anderson County

Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore said an elderly woman died in a gun battle outside her home early Saturday morning.

Shore said the shooting happened around 1:00 a.m. outside a home on Rayben Lane, just off Airline Road.

Shore said Dorothy Hendrix, 76, came home to find three armed men at her home.
He said Hendrix pulled out a gun and fired at the men, and one of them returned fire, hitting her at least once.

    To bad she died . I hope the bastard she gut shot suffered plenty before the law found him .
