Click on the slide!

My mother always said that Edenton was the most beautiful town in the South which of course meant the world!:)

Celebrations
Thursday, October 03, 2013 @ 05:00 PM
Duration: 3 Hours

Thursday evening, October 3, PNC will hold a party fit for a king! The West King Street Preservation Celebration is going to be a knock-your-socks-off event with live music, food and drinks, and tour of eight of Edenton's most prominent historic houses: Beverly Hall (1810), Wessington (1850), the Dixon-Powell House (1895), Pembroke Hall (1850), James Iredell, Jr. Law Office (1802/1817), West Customs House (1772), Disbrowe-Warren House (1756), and the Skinner-Paxton House (1820)!

This amazing group of properties will be a real treat for our guests to tour and learn more about the rich architectural history of Edenton. From the breathtaking views from the Skinner-Paxton House to the beautiful gardens of Beverly Hall to the preservation in progress at Wessington which is under extensive renovation, the variety of properties will offer something for everyone.

The event will start at 5:00 and end around 8:00. The street will be closed, providing ample room for guests to enjoy live music, food and drinks, and stroll about at their leisure amongst the properties. We are so grateful to all the homeowners for graciously welcoming us in to their homes for the evening.

October 2-4, Preservation North Carolina (PNC) will hold its statewide Annual Conference in historic Edenton. Over the three-day period, approximately 400 preservationists will gather to attend keynote sessions and workshops on important preservation issues, and tour a number of important historic places such as the "new" oldest house in North Carolina, the Roanoke River Lighthouse, the 1767 Chowan County Courthouse and more. We will also hold our annual honor awards program and host several special events. It's going to be a top-notch conference and we hope you will be able to join us for some or all of it!
