Second hostage shot in Louisiana bank standoff dies in hospital

From my Cousin Joel Pippen

Many of you might have seen the national news this past Wed. morning about a bank robbery in St. Joseph, LA. Two bank employees were shot and one person was released. The lady who was shot was the wife to my first cousin Ronnie McDaniel. His mother and my mother are sisters.

This was a horrible murder where the shooter felt he had "been wronged" and he wanted to get even. He went into the bank around noon on Tuesday and gave the law 12 hours to meet his demand and then he was going to start killing the employees. He let one person go. He tied their hands behind their backs and made them get down on their knees until around 12 PM.

At around 2;30 AM we got the message he had shot LaDean and the gentleman colleague.  The police immediately shot him. LaDean had non-recoverable wounds. The man died a short time after being shot. On Aug 31st we have a family reunion planned for both sides of my family and Ronnie and LaDean were the first to sign up to attend. I send this to you for many of you may have seen the news and I wanted you to know. The murderer couldn't have done a wrong to a nicer person than LaDean. She was a devout Christian and we know that she is in heaven.

Police drive past the Tensas State Bank branch in St. Joseph, La., early morning, Aug. 14, 2013 in St. Joseph, La., where a gunman took three people hostage.

A second hostage shot during a standoff at a rural Louisiana bank died Thursday at a hospital.
LaDean McDaniel was one of three bank employees taken hostage Tuesday by 20-year-old Fuaed Abdo Ahmed. Ahmed released one of the hostages during negotiations.

McDaniel died Thursday morning at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, said hospital spokeswoman Charla Ducote. Police say Ahmed shot her and Jay Warbington when police stormed the Tensas State Bank in St. Joseph. Ahmed was shot and killed by police.

Ahmed had told police he planned to kill the hostages before officers came into the bank.
