It has taken the global left nearly 2 decades to usher the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) through the friendly confines of the United Nations. Offered for signature in its final form in June, the Treaty which purports to “establish common international standards for regulating the trade in conventional arms,” really is as dangerous to the right of Americans to keep and bear arms as 2nd Amendment supporters have claimed since the Obama Regime–specifically, Hillary Clinton–began the push for the Treaty’s eventual ratification several years ago. (1)

The ATT was deliberately written in broad, general terms throughout most of its text. In this way, the Treaty can generously “reaffirm the sovereign right of any State to regulate and control conventional arms exclusively within its territory, pursuant to its own legal or constitutional system.” (1) Of course this language from the Preamble mentions nothing about keeping or bearing arms, just regulation and control.

And to effectively manage that process of regulation and control, the Treaty “…require[s] that states “establish and maintain a national control system, including a national control list” and “designate competent national authorities in order to…regulate the transfer of conventional arms.” (2)  (my italics)

Of course, in and of itself a “national control system” can mean virtually anything. But when someone with Barack Obama’s noted contempt for the right to keep and bear arms is charged with implementing the Treaty, a “national control system including a national control list” can mean just one thing–the nationwide registration of firearms.

Anyone who believes this to be a reach should know that Treaty authors considered the national control system important enough to be mentioned 10 times in the ATT’s text. In fact, the control system and control list are deemed mandatory “in order to implement the provisions of the Treaty,” that is, “to regulate the export of amunition/munitions…” (1)

  1. Pretty simple from where I stand. My loyalty or allegience if you prefer, is to the Republic of the US of A. If the traitors vote to turn the soverignty of the US to the blue hats, well then so what?? It will be like a bird fart in space.
