Teen girl's 'skimpy' outfit too hot for TSA

A 15-year-old girl wearing leggings, a tank top and a button-down T-shirt claims a Transportation Security Administration agent humiliated her, telling her to cover up as she passed through an ID-check line at Los Angeles International Airport on Father’s Day.

“She said the officer was ‘glaring’ at her and mumbling,” the girl’s father, Mark Frauenfelder, told Yahoo Shine.

“She said, ‘Excuse me?’ and he said, ‘You’re only 15, cover yourself!’ in a hostile tone.”

He said, “It shook her up.”

Frauenfelder, who is editor in chief of Make magazine and founder of the blog Boing Boing, explained that his daughter, Sarina, had been traveling with a group of high-school students on a trip to explore colleges.
After the incident, Sarina began texting her parents.

“I’m furious!” she wrote. “He was so rude and hostile. He made me feel like a slut.”

Frauenfelder, who posted a photo of his daughter wearing her ordinary outfit, blasted the TSA officer on his blog: “It doesn’t matter what she was wearing, though, because it’s none of his business to tell girls what they should or should not wear. His creepy thoughts are his own problem, and he shouldn’t use his position of authority as an excuse to humiliate a girl and blame her for his sick attitude.”

  1. Stupid. People are stupid. I don't like the TSA, but krikies, why is the dad and the girl getting all bent out of shape. Isn't it the dad's job to install some modesty and good judgement in a 15yo girl's perception on life? An adult should be able to wear whatever they want, but they better be willing to take whatever flak that the decision brings with it, like for instance being mistaken for a slut if you dress skimpy. But then heaven forbid people being taught to take responsibility for your actions.

    1. From the picture, I agree that her skin shouldn't be showing above the waist and her top should be pulled up some, but it was hardly the TSA's job to take the place of her parent who wasn't there.

  2. Besides, leggings ARE NOT PANTS! and there is not a human alive that looks good in spandex, I don't care if you're in shape or not....and while I'm ranting ;) sweats are NOT PANTS either...and it is NOT acceptable to wear your jammy bottoms and slippers to the grocery store.
Jeesh! I think I might have to have a margarita to calm down. ;)

  3. That outfit isn't even immodest. Don't get your panties in a bunch, she's a teenage girl for crying out loud! She isn't dressed skimpy, slutty, or immodest etc. I can see how you people that wear moomoo's and turtlenecks with amish skirts may think so, but this is the 20th century. I've seen worse, honestly.
