I think her sentiment is ill placed. People used to use their heads and common sense, now it's just about feelings. If I had a family member who was a veteran buried on either side of where her grave site is and where she wants to bury that pos, I would raise holy hell. That terrorist and his family would kill her in a New York minute and not look back. Giving that terrorist her grave site is not going to change any thing. Agreed and let's hope the PTB use common sense on this and I have no idea in the world why someone other than a veteran, or president I guess reluctantly, should be buried there. Actually, there should be no one other than the Lee family buried there as far as I am concerned. When George Custis won the lawsuit against the government, I would not have accepted monetary compensation, but had every last Yankee dug up, so that the grounds could be restored as they were when the Yankees stole it. Of course, I'm such a kind nice, guy........:)
My Shoshone relatives have a family graveyard on BLM land and the feds can't do anything about it because it's been there since the late 1800's and it's deemed "Native American Burial"....but it's sure funny how the fence circumference gets larger every few years, it's only been about 4 years since I went to a burial there.
On another note, I just read a fictional(but based on fact) book about Carnton and Carrie McGavock and her graveyard on her plantation, from the Battle of Franklin. Amazing. Tell me why, why did the Confederate leaders lead their men to such slaughter instead of waiting for better circumstances to rout the Yankees? Miss Violet
