What will happen if Obama Orders the U.S. Military to Confiscate Guns in America?

Via avordvet

USA 5 March 2013. It is time for Americans to start thinking seriously about the possibility that their sons and daughters may be put in the untenable position going house-to-house, confiscating firearms and ammunition from their friends and family? What will they do?

Throughout the military - the kids, grandkids, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends of veterans and gun enthusiasts are likely weighing the possibilities of such an order and just how far they personally would be willing to go in carrying out something that would rip the very fabric of this nation apart and go against everything they’ve sworn to protect. In thinking the unthinkable, certainly they must be questioning the end game and who are the real good guys. Especially, when they see this President fail to pay homage to the recent death of the greatest American Sniper in history, Chris Kyle.

When they see this Commander in Chief fail to engage while our Ambassador in Benghazi and former Navy Seals are in the fight of their lives, wouldn’t a reasonable soldier reevaluate Obama’s fidelity to the code – we leave no one behind. When Janet Napolitano’s Homeland Security Report labels returning Veterans and Tea Party people as potential terrorists, one has to ask what the heck is going on. When they see towns putting in place plans for confiscation of firearms from the “unruly” during emergency, when veterans are receiving letters deeming them incompetent to own firearms without due process - aren’t those in service wondering if they themselves will be the ones seen as threats, will they be the “unruly” that towns are talking about?

Will soldiers look closely if they are ordered to search American families’ homes?

  1. There will be guerilla war. Soldiers who defect will shed their uniforms while bringing their stuff with them including heavy weapons.
Those uniformed will be shot on sight.
    Sic Semper Tyrannis.

    1. No one in their right mind wants to go there, but the Collectivists evidently do wish to do so.

  2. I do not think it will be our sons and daughters who will be faced with the choice you describe. It will be the sons and daughters of people named Jose and Jaunita, and they will be more than happy to kick open the doors of the hated gringos, and overjoyed at the chance to shoot anyone who puts up a fight.

Whoever they may be, it works both ways.

  3. It would be the king of all bone head moves. Any hint of that magnitude of instability in the US would crash the world economy. I doubt they will do it quickly. I would expect a more incremental method that, if history is any guide, will have mass compliance.

    1. My wife (and, by extension, I) knows some Serbs, they tend to be patriotic towards the US. Several of them are veterans/survivors of that war in the 90s.

  5. Be careful to avoid falling prey to wishful thinking. We would like to believe that many in the armed forces will chose to defend the constitution rather than follow orders from their superiors to disarm and shoot American citizens. I am not so sure. The top brass are all political appointees and will follow Obama into any depravity.

As far as the lower ranks, I will tell you about a choice my father faced during the 6 day war. At the time, we lived in USSR and he was an engineer and consequently a low rank officer in the army. During the 6 day war, soviet reserves were all gathered and they were waiting for possible deployment orders. There was a very real chance that Soviet soldiers would be deployed to fight on the side of Arabs against Jews.

I also need to provide more context as to what this waiting period meant for my family. We're Jews and lost many family members during WW2 and have had family who died in Nazi concentration camps. Yet, here was my father awaiting possible orders to go and kill other Jews on behalf of those who worked closely with the Nazis during WW2. Why would this decision be so difficult? If he refused, it would mean that he, his wife, and his kids would disappear in a Siberian work camp.

People have and will sell out their principles for far less than protection of their families. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if the majority of our armed forces chose to follow the administration's dictates and disarm, as well as shoot, American citizens. Just look at how inner city cops act.

    1. I agree with your comments 100% and thank you for your insightful family history. I have a sister-in-law whose grandfather, a Jew, was a fighter pilot for Germany in WWI and she showed me her family picture album with him standing beside his plane and commented that she felt awful about it which amazed me, as WWI and WWII were two entire different beasts. I believe that we would be fortunate to have 20 - 25% of service members who would refuse orders, but that doesn't mean they would necessarily fight against TPTB since many might be passive which leaves us with 3% plus or minus once again, I believe.

    2. Here's a heads up that may or may not have already been posted. During Hurricane Katrina the Louisianna National Guard along with the New Orleans Police Department went door to door on the pretext of looking for looters. In fact the New Orleans Police Chief made the statement that they were to go door to door and confiscate ALL legally owned firearms of those citizens that remained in their homes. Consider the facts of Katrina and what was left of the commmunications infrastructure let alone the ability of LEO to respond to a citizen in distress?
Long story-short; citizens homes were breached without warrant, the owners if present were quickly subdued and put in restraints at gun point, lead outside while their homes were illegally searched. Any firearms great or small were taken and only then were the owners set free to fend for themselves without their basic right to self defense. If they resisted they were beaten and arrested as in the case of an elderly woman who lived alone, or were shot if the fight persisted.
This is already well documented and I believe will happen without a doubt. Obama has the proof of this and is wetting his pants to get gun confiscation the order of the day.
Will our military follow orders, or their oath to protect and defend the constitution? That will depend greatly on the external motivating force behind the order given. There are some very intelligent military personnell that will defend the constitution. Those may very well be our Spec-Op's guys. The lower ranking enlisted without much more education higher than middleschool? Those are the one's who will follow blindly like cannon fodder into the fray.
      That's my "two-cents worth".
